La table des sacres, Reims

I have to admit, after high expectations, this was one of my most disappointing dining experience in recent years. Made reservations in advance for New Year’s Eve, we arrived on time were quickly served an amuse bouche and first round of champagne, but after that, things turned quickly… or not so quickly. We soon found ourselves waiting for our entrees for 1h 10 min after our arrival. While this is most definitely a problem, this was exacerbated by the fact that we were never served water, and never had an opportunity to order more wine because there were only two servers on a fully reserved night. By this point we were ready to leave and expressed this to the servers. An initial apology was made and we were asked to stay… unfortunately we fell for it, until the next plate arrived. The foie gras was foie gras, nothing revelatory, but the next dish (scallops) was lacking. The scallops weren’t anything exceptional, yet they were swimming in a purée that lacked flavor and substance. The final heartbreaker of the evening was the dessert - a poached pear with cream, biscuit rose, and what tasted like sugared ice - just fell flat. There was absolutely not any taste nor flavor for any of the items in this dish. To add to all of this, the restaurant was freezing, especially the bathroom, and the decor has fallen behind times. Overall, for over €220, nothing was up to the level of expectation for quality, service, nor atmosphere. We requested an immediate refund in person but were refused.

We were visiting Reims just for a few days and went to this restaurant twice because it was so amazing . Service and food was unbelievable!

A little gem with fantastic service. The restaurant is charming, cozy, and full of character. The food was carefully prepared, creative, and absolutely delicious. Warmly recommended to anyone looking for an intimate dining experience with superb service and tasty flavors.

Excellent place for dinner! The service was great and very friendly. It is a cute restaurant with very nice owners. The food was delicious. It came very quick and there was enough choice. The wine was great and the staff was happy to explain a lot about the wine. The prices are very low for such high quality food. A top recommendation in Reims!

Great food presentation and interesting flavor combinations! Also a nice and attentive service. My partner and I had an amazing experience on a Friday evening, walking in without reservation. I can definitely recommend this place!

Ordered the poulet and the duck breast. The food was very good. The host was also very nice trying to do as much as possible in English.

In a city of amazing food, this was AMAZING! The service was impeccable and the food was creative and delicious! Highly recommend.

We had a stopover in Reims just for dinner, and we’re so happy we chose this restaurant! We had an amazing time and, even more importantly, amazing food. The beef was incredibly tender, and they kindly prepared a special dish for our kids—mashed potatoes with beef. Highly recommended!
