I came to eat on a Wednesday night, the food was amazing but what really set the experience apart was our server Scott. He was so kind, thoughtful, and funny. Our drinks were never empty, our orders came out pretty quick, and he had great conversation and recommendations (great for me who can never decide on anything) the pastas were so delicious and the bread that came with them was just top notch. Never given bread too much thought but OMG it was crunchy and so flavorful to go with the cheesy sauce of the pasta. Thank you for the recommendation Scott!

Came here for the first time. The place is very cute, decorate for Christmas. They were busy and I was worried because we had to be at an appointment in an hour. But we were seated right away and the food did not take long as well. Our waitress was so sweet and nice. The reason why I gave them a 3 star is because I order a coke and my daughter order a dr. Pepper and both taste so flat. So we switched it to sprite and still the same thing. It taste flat and water down. Also, I order fried chicken but received smoother chicken. I didnt say anything because we were on a time limit. I still ate most of it and it was ok but not what I ordered. My daughter fried were cold and she only got a handful of shrimps. I will give them a try again if we are back in the area.

I was warmly greeted when I entered. I would say that the interior needed some attention, but given the A sanitation grade, I dismissed it as old and dingy. The staff was very friendly. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits, and he said they were "okay, just not hot". I felt the same way about my brisket sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. We also ordered the fries, which were hot and tasty. I would go on someone else's suggestion, just not on my own.

If I could give Annabelle’s at the New Bern Mall six stars, I would have already started chiseling an extra one into Google’s review system with my fork. From the moment I walked in, the service was so fast and friendly I half expected the staff to have telepathy. No wait time, no delay—just straight to the table like they knew I was coming with a hungry mission. The food? Perfectly cooked! Whoever’s in that kitchen clearly made a deal with the flavor gods, because everything that hit the table was downright delicious. Juicy, hot, and seasoned like Grandma whispered the recipe in their ear. Pair that with servers who treat you like family without making you wash the dishes afterward, and you’ve got yourself the holy trinity of dining: speed, taste, and kindness. If you’re in New Bern and still wondering where to eat, stop wasting calories on decision-making. Annabelle’s is where your taste buds clock in for overtime pay. The cold beer selection was refreshing, and our friendly server made us feel right at home. I absolutely loved the giant salad, and the onion rings were some of the best I've! My boyfriend raved about the crab cake burger, paired perfectly with sweet potato fries. Overall, a great meal and a delightful atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Great food. Great service. Can't wait to go back.

Just finished dinner at Annabelle’s and our waiter Scott was incredible. Honestly one of the best servers I’ve ever had at a restaurant. He stayed on top of everything the entire time and was amazing with our kids which made the night so much easier and more enjoyable. The service was first class from start to finish. We will definitely be back and will be asking for Scott next time.

My husband and I visited New Bern two weeks ago and stopped here for lunch. It was truly a great choice. The food was wonderful and well seasoned. My husband said his shepherd’s pie was the best he’s ever had. I was thrilled with my beef tips which weren’t the usual boring bland tips, but instead were tender and flavorful. Our server, Ginnie, was the absolute BEST! She was friendly, kind, and did a great job. The food is affordable and delicious. We hope to visit again soon.

Found this gem in New Bern,NC spacious restaurant on two floors serving American fare that epitomizes the old addage of great southern cooking. Decore is simply tables and booths, moderate ambience hustling wait staff, varied menu, soups, salads, beef, chicken, seafood and the menu goes on and on, most of all the food is absolutely delicious. Try their Cobb Salad it is beyond incredible.

We always enjoy our meals there!! The chicken fried chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes, salads, fried shrimp, chili, and the lobster bisque!!! Aw mannnnn!! Good stuff!! The ambiance is always nice. The place is clean, the lights are low, the tables are comfortable. Service has always been great as well. Even when they say they are short staffed, we still have good service. We go back over and over and are always very satisfied.

The food was very mediocre at best, the Shrimp & grits was a small portion with little to no seasoning although appeasing to the eyes the taste was flavorless. The pasta was more cheese than anything to throwing my daughter didn't eat it and decided to have some of mom salad. The Cobb salad was okay. Youngest had the corn dogs, which he ate all, but the fries was as if they just sucked up all the oil. Our server Cody was decent did what was expected of a server. The overall ambiance of the establishment was a bit droopy as if it needed a face lift or just mor lighting. We will not be back to this establishment.

Very good French onion soup! I got a cup and it was very enjoyable! My broccoli quiche was good but my least favorite thing I had this visit. The chili option that came w the quiche was very cheesy and thick chili yummy. I enjoyed the chili a bit more than the quiche. The quiche Aldi came w fresh fruit which was yummy. Overall, I look forward to returning while passing thru and try their prime rib and French onion soup again.

Food was average at best. I can't believe that this restaurant ranks so high with locals. My friend ordered the steak it was very small and raw. I will not be going back!

The food was great for fast-casual dining. The staff were nice, with the occasional overheard disgruntled employee. The place could use a deep cleaning. The portions were HUGE for the price. We'd try them again.

We really enjoyed our first visit with Annabelle's Restaurant in New Bern. Fantastic food and great staff. We advise if in the area to visit and give them a visit. We visited there 2 times the second time we had prime rib and it was great. A friend recommended them to us and they were right about the food and restaurant very good.

Had the Cobb salad and it was delicious !! They were not skimpy with the ingredients and had plenty to eat. My husband had the chicken salad sandwich with sweet potato fries. He said it was good and it looked awesome. Definitely going back

Most awesome bartender, Randy. The food is amazing and the hospitality is amazing as well. Randy was extremely nice and informative about every dish. We had the French Onion Soup, blackened shrimp and chicken Tuscany pasta , meatloaf with string beans and garlic mashed.

Food was delicious.. shrimp, green beans, deviled crab, sweet potato fries.. all very good. At first we were told a long wait, to be seated. I didn't believe the guy, and we didn't even wait 10 min. The waitress was nice, and kept up with us. I was thrilled with how good the food was, and not greasy at all. Highly recommend, and I've already stopped back by for the green beans!

I have been eating at Annabelle's for several years now and the food and service have always been great. Never had a bad experience and friends from out of town always want to go back. You can tell they pay attention to details.

Food was very good. Portions were big and the food was flavorful. We had the best server I think I've ever had in a restaurant. Regan was outstanding, very personable and gave attention to every detail . Will definitely come back

Terrible! Waited for 45 minutes for the food! And they said it was because the chicken got burned. For the $17 fried chicken is not worth it!

Very average restaurant in the New Bern Shopping Mall. Older dark decor. But the two stars come because of the cockroach crawling up the wall next to our booth.

I do love to try new places to eat. Specially when it's a city that I don't normally visit. I did a search for a lunch place and felt Anabelles has a good yelp reviews. I had to wait just a few minutes to be seated, and they put me on this overhang that held tables and a drink station. For me, I have a fear of heights so the stairs and watching the people below wasn't plensent. The seeve was very plensent and showed great customer service. I tried the fried pickles and the dipping sauce has a little firery heat to it. But was delicious. The brisket was on a toasted brioche bun had the cheddar cheese that was dripping off the side. I can't wait to try some of their other great items on the menu next visit.

My husband and I went here to eat on our 35 wedding anniversary to enjoy our day of celebration. Well just a few hours later we were sick as we have ever been in our life. When we were able to get to moving, I did the research and we had contracted food poisoning from what we ate . I would not recommend eating here and as for us we will NOT be returning

While out and about, we stopped in to Annabelle's for dinner. I had read some nice reviews about this place so it worked in our favor to be in that area. After getting a salad, Kathey then chose the fried shrimp with some sweet potato fries. I decided to get the French onion soup followed by the teriyaki chicken over rice with green beans and slivered carrots. The food was so good! It was hot and the flavors were amazing! So glad we gave them a try. Our server Lauren did an excellent job with it all.

So this place would get 4 stars, but the service was kinda slow. Took a while to have waiter initially come to the table, and meal and dessert also seemed to take a bit. Wasn't overlying crowded but decently busy. Setting is somewhat unique, and has 2 level and outdoor seating Dessert menu had numerous good sounding choices, we tried 2 and both were good. The Key West Key Lime cake was awesome. So plan to come, just give yourself plenty of time

Service was okay, I only got the french onion soup and it was good! My mom got broccoli cheddar and it was meh. Id come back and try other things though!

there was a slight issue and it was resolved wonderfully. would recommend, food is always great!

Waiter Denis T. took forever to get out 2 year olds drink. He ended up stealing money from my card. Read the messages please and you will see...the owner finally stepped in on Facebook after reaching out to him/her multiple times. This person played it nice and lied saying I would get a gift card sent to my home...so I have my address...weeks later it hasn't come and won't! I stood up for this jerk owner when I shouldn't have...I was told I would get the money back on my card and weeks later I have not gotten a penny back on my card. They're liars, wait staff does not do their jobs. Everyone seemed pissy, but at least the pasta was good. Fried mushrooms were a nasty flop though...I'll never go back and recommend you don't waste your money and time going there!

We came in for an early dinner. Our waitress was very friendly. Portions were pretty big. Pricing is ok. The only complaint was: steak was overcooked and dry. Will try their pasta next time.

The food is delicious. The atmosphere is decent. Our only complaint.... Especially on Sundays....nicely dressed folks coming for lunch after Church. Kids with nose rings and tattoos great them at the front desk. Waiters and waitresses are fully decked out in snake tats and skeletons and worse. Step it up! At least have them Wear long-sleeve shirts---and keep their nose rings home for the day! This is on the owner! Let's get back to some CLASS!!!

Went to Annabelle's last night (May 5, 2024) and had the worst meal ever in New Bern. We arrived about 8:30 and ordered crab cakes and ribs for me. The soups were like warm and sent back. The food was tepid and the ribs were barely edible. The crab cakes tasted like an omelette rather than crab. I'll just close by saying the mgr heard my complaints. Gave me 25% discount. And promised to do better. This restaurant has been going down hill for quite some time. Go there only at your own peril. The young server was barely up to the job. I guess they don't train them very well. Unless I'm really desperate, I'll pass on Annabelle's until I read that it's improved.

Nice atmosphere and service is so good. The food is absolutely delicious. We have eaten here several times when we are in the area and have never had anything we didn't like. Be sure to try the broccoli soup it is so delicious!!

took 2 friends, they got salad, oh, lucky them. i got the rib eye sandwich, medium rare, she said sure, that can be done. so i got the steak, must have been soaked in tendorizer all nite. came on a large roll with a spoonful of lettuce. the steak was tortured, over cooked, chewy so i soaked it in au jus. nope didn't work, in fact there was oil in the beef broth. saving grace , one star was the sweet potato fries, thus one star. still tasting the oil. and for ambiance the music was loud

The ribeye steak and prime rib both very good choice. The menu has a lot to choose from too. Upstairs and downstairs dining room options with very friendly and attentive staff. Located adjacent to the area mall so if you do have to wait for a seat it makes the wait easier to walk around. Also we order from here as door dash and they almost never mess up an order and know how to package the order for deliver.

We decided to break up our deliver routine and order multiple appetizers for dinner delivered by a 3rd party delivery service. Kudos to Annabelle's, because it arrived hot and delicious! We sampled the Hot Crab Dip, the Spinach & Artichoke Dip, the Stuffed Mushrooms and the Seared Ahi Tuna. We even shared their Smokehouse Burger which was grilled to medium rare perfection! The presentation of the tuna on fried wontons was genius not to mention tasty and our group's favorite! The only item that didn't travel well were the fried pickles. While the flavor was still good, the coating was soggy. If you're looking for a upgrade in your meal delivery options, I highly recommended Annabelle's!

I guess it depends on what day you go there. Just ok food really. The food we got was hot. The service was good. Atmosphere sa ves the place.

My husband and I have been dining at Annabelle's for many years. We have never had anything that was not good. Our server today was Reagan. She was organized, efficient, and attentive.

I don't usually give bad reviews and I don't do it lightly. I SO wanted to like this place. My husbands boss talked it up and we had read decent reviews. What a disappointment. The crab appetizer was grotesque. It smelled old and was way too rich. The potato soup was out of a bag or made from powder, or made the day before. I took one teaspoon and left the rest. The pasta was awful . Super bland and only fresh ingredient in it were the few leaves of spinach in it . We are pretty sure the burger was frozen. This place seems like it's on the ropes. I know how tough it is to keep a restaurant open, but with these standards it won't be around for much longer. Huge menu of frozen foods. Will NOT be spending another dime in here. Sorry, but that's 100 percent my honest opinion.

Called to ask if they were hiring and the man that answered the phone was EXTREMELY rude and gave me the biggest attitude because they were busy. Could have simply told me to call back later in a NICE TONE. Definitely don't recommend.

I've been to this restaurant many many times. Delicious food sometimes I wish I would get more for my money.

Very cool establishment. Great food & good drinks. We have frequented this place a few times and the food is always on point. Staff is younger and can tend to "forget" or have to be reminded - but I will say that this place is always busy, so I'm sure it can be overwhelming for them. Manager always makes rounds to make sure things are okay and is very friendly. - we will definitely be back.

I have wanted to try Annabelles for YEARS. Finally was in the area this evening, so we have it a try. We were seated in the bar area just as you walk in. Took quite awhile for someone to come and take our drink order. We ordered our appetizer the same time as our drinks, and ordered our meal a little while later. We received our appetizer at the same time as our soup and salad. Soup wasn't hot...it wasn't cold, but definitely wasn't hot either. All of our food tasted good. Nothing spectacular, but we would try again! Oh, and prices were fair!

Have had good meals and okay service. Friendly staff. Carpet could use a good cleaning or even new carpet. Restaurant could use some TLC.

A long established restaurant with customers and wait staff that have been there forever. Great quality and variety of foods. My picky husband wants to go back soon and often!!

Food was bangin, the server was great, the inside is super cool, and the price was surprisingly very affordable. I think for all 3 of us, the bill was $88 that's including the drinks which my boyfriend and I both had 2. Will definitely be back!

Love this place. We live about 40 minutes away, but whenever we r in the mood for crab dip or great ribs Annabelle's is our go-to!

Everything I've had here has been pretty good - burger, chickenfried steak, chickenfried chicken and some of the best onion rings around. Don't let the mall location turn you off - you enter from the outside and it is a pub, cozy atmosphere.

Annabelle's was our port in the storm during Hurricane Florence and ever since has been a local favorite for good, down home choices. Full bar is a must, and great service to go with it.

Great food, good atmosphere. It's a nice place to eat in New Bern. The servers are attentive and helpful. The salads and sandwiches were delicious and highly recommend.

Sat at the bar. Bartender was great. Had the grilled chicken and roasted veggies which were actually steamed but still good. Nice spot for a lone traveler.

On a work trip. Started with the hit crab dip. It was good but the portion was small for the $11.99 price. The side salad with ranch were good. Not as good as the Annabelle of old with their amazing salad bar. My husband had the shepherd's pie while I had the chicken fried steak. The shepherd's pie was probably the best ever. Not exactly traditional, but tastier. My only complaint about the chicken fried steak was the green beans were too salty. But the chicken fried steak was tender, fried to perfection with the perfect amount of breading.

Some of you may remember when Annabelle's was a chain. It wasn't big but it started in NC and was as far south as Charleston SC and up north into Virginia Beach, VA. That's where my Annabelle's was located. I have fond memories of the place that was at Pembroke Mall and closed about 20 years ago. Much to my surprise over the last year I discovered that when the corporation went under back in 1997 only 4 locations remained and they were sold to individuals and employees. Now in 2018 there's only one, it's the New Bern location and it's time for a road trip. BTW before I continue this road trip took place in July 2018. Plans in hand we left to spend the day down in New Bern. I skipped breakfast and we hit the road around 10am and arrived in New Bern / Annabelle's just before 1pm. The parking lot in front of the restaurant was full, that's a good sign. Upon walking in we were greeted by a young lady who turned out to be out server and she seated us at a table in the bar area right by the Annabelle's street sign. After looking around I would say the place was about 80% full. I ordered my standard bearer, a bacon cheeseburger & steak fries and my date decided to have one of the lunch specials which I believe was fried codfish with fries with coleslaw. I want to point out that the menu is very similar to what it was back in the 90's. Some of the items have changed names, but it's pretty much still the same which was very comforting. I've had many a BCB at Annabelle's back in the day and they used to be served on a rectangular metal plate and your drink was in a mason jar with a handle. Really cool touch. Alas they didn't have that here but when the food arrived, it was perfect. Just as it had been all those years before. My BCB was indistinguishable from one I had eaten as a teen back in the Virginia Beach location... So was it good you ask? You're damn right it was! What a flood of memories and tastes it brought back. Wow just wow. I was so happy with this lunch. My date liked her lunch as well, she wasn't Wow'ed like I was but she also had never been before. Service was excellent BTW, our servers name was Brittany if I remember correctly, and she was friendly and kept the drinks full and checked in on us. Kudo's to her. The restaurant was also familiar and even had the classic staircase that all Annabelle's had back in the day. It was a really fun visit. Next time I'm in New Bern or near I'll be putting some time aside for another visit and to re-sample something else off the menu. Easy 5 stars.

I ordered the spinach salad on Sunday March 26 2023. The hot bacon dressing was cold. There was only 1 small boiled half egg on the salad, but i did get another egg after asking. The salad was good, i just wish the hot bacon dressing was hot instead of cold.

This is my go to place for a casual sit down lunch. Good food good service. It is also located at the entrance to a Mall.

I have now tried this restaurant three times. I wanted to upgrade from my first review. I have had delivery the lat two times and it was a much better experience than eating in. However, it could still be so much better. Unfortunately, there isn't too much to choose from in the area for delivery and Annabelle's is free with DoorDash so I find myself ordering again. I really do like the seafood quiche. It is supposed to come with fruit and a cup of soup. First time I got it there was not any fruit. Today, it was perfect. Everything was good and I was very pleased.

Yesterday, my family and I had the pleasure of dining at Annabelle's in New Bern. We were greeted at the door and immediately seated at a nice table near the front. (I have hip trouble and they accommodated my needs very courteously. On the way to the table we were greeted by the manager in a friendly and polite manner. Our server (Jeanette I believe) was extra attentive and accommodating- taking our orders quickly and making sure that we never lacked for drink refills, condiments or anything else. The food was excellent, across the entire range of items ordered. We had the crab dip, seafood quiche, shrimp and grits, and a rack of ribs. The sides were every bit as well prepared and tasty as the entrees, up to and including the garlic Texas toast! We'll be back here! For the levels of service, food quality and care of preparation, I am truly impressed. I've been lucky enough to travel internationally over the years, and have had some excellent dining experiences. Annabelle's is a gem that New Bern should treasure!
