We really enjoyed our hike on the Carambola Tidepools and Trailhead! It took us about 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach the tidepools. The trail is not for beginners—I’d rate it as moderate to advanced, with plenty of elevation changes, exposed roots, and a narrow path. It’s marked fairly well, though not perfectly.
We hiked on a rainy day, so the trail was a bit slippery but still manageable. Despite the rain, it was warm, bug-free, and overall a great experience. After hiking through dense vegetation, you reach a rocky beach, and from there, you have to climb over some challenging, slippery rocks to access the tidepools. My husband made it across but found it tricky, while I decided not to risk it with the waves crashing in.
Overall, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this trail to anyone who enjoys a more challenging, adventurous hike!
