Took my family here this past Friday night after travelling up from NYC. We were happy to see that they could seat us, and we were seated immediately. We were greeted with a smile, and that was appreciated.
I've already forgotten some of what we ordered, but I remember that my wife ordered the mushroom risotto, which was totally delicious. Definitely worth remembering! Really interesting, complex flavors... made a great breakfast the next morning for me.
I do remember the house salad dressing was a "lemony" mixture that was unimpressive, and the salad itself was sparsely dressed, so they got me some extra dressing. I would go with oil and vinegar next time. The dressing wasn't BAD... maybe just not my thing. You might love it if you're into "lemony" dressing.
Oh... and for my main I got a special... the Eggplant Rollatini (3 rolls as a main). Damn... that was EXCELLENT. Every bite was heaven. So soft, the cheese inside was great, and the tomato sauce has that beautifully sweet but kicking flavor. Each was about as big as a nice, fat Chinese Egg Roll.
My daughter got this (it's all coming back to me now!) pretty damn good dish that I thought was Gnocci, but was actually some other kind of pasta in a cream sauce. I think it was called Sacchette. That was pretty damned good too.
I liked our server, and at some point at the end of the meal and we had asked for the check, we couldn't find her to get a dessert instead. (There's always room for some sorbet!) The waitress for the neighboring tables helped us, and it was nice to see their willingness to help someone else's table, whether that be because of pooled tips or management or just good will... it's a great thing. The Lemon Sorbet was really good, served in a whole, frozen lemon.
All in all, I have to say, the place comes pretty close to 5 stars.
