We had a cousins reunion dinner here in a private room and it was such a wonderful and memorable meal with excellent food and service. The decor is charming and over people could fit around one large rectangle dining table. My favorite dish was the roasted vegetables with burrata.

Google
Visiting the Catskills area and we found this hidden gem. The food was amazing! I had the Tonnarelli con Aragosta and it was perfect. The house salad was also really delicious and they were kind enough to give us another portion. I would highly recommend this place if you’re visiting the area!

Google
Food & service was very good for the most part. The Sachetti was the best. We found it interesting that dishes like linguini w/ clam sauce & veal parmigiana were on the specials menu since you can usually find those on the regular menu of your average pizzaria & this is a higher end Italian restaurant. I tried the veal after a convincing sales pitch from the waiter that I solicited. It was good. Probably better than any pizzaria I’d ever had it at. But not $56 good. We also had the stuffed long hots, Caesar salad ($10 up charge from the house salad), & desert, all of which were pretty underwhelming, 1 mixed drink & a bottle of San Pelegrino. Total $190 for dinner for 2. Probably won’t be back. P. S. The Chandelier room was beautiful

Google
First time here. Went on a recommendation. This place is out of the way off the beaten trail but word of mouth (and Google) have made this place hugely popular! We had reservations, which I highly recommend, and when we arrived at 6:30 the parking lot was packed. We were warmly greeted and seated immediately. Our server Johnathan was fantastic. He told us the 10....yes 10 specials of the night from memory! So many choices it was hard to pick. Everything was excellent as was the service. I highly recommend and will be back with family and friends. Johnathan thanked us and said to ask for him in the future if we liked his service. We were also thanked by the hostess as we left.

Google
We had a great experience at Annarella. The service was very attentive and the food was delicious. All the items, from the bread to appetizers to salad to main course were served in a timely manner and we enjoyed our time here.

Google
Wonderful dinner! We enjoyed the stuffed artichoke heart, specials, orecchiette with sausage and broccoli raab, cocktails, wine and dessert! The attentive service was equally matched in knowledge and expertise! We will be back!

Google
Oh my! What an absolute gem! The food, the service were fantastic. Really the food was just excellent perfectly cooked not overly salted just delicious. We had the eggplant rolantini app, the chicken marsala, and the rigatoni with a Ragu. We ate on the outside porch and it was lovely and quiet. I thought the total cost was very reasonable for an appetizer, two cocktails and two entrées --especially for such good food.

Yelp
I heard about Annarella on Doug Grunther's Sunday am radio show on WDST 100.1 FM and wow the restaurant surpasses everything he mentioned in ambience, service and the food is sensational. I do admit that going to Annarella's a second time- helped me understand the menu or house practice netter. You get a salad with every entree and it can even be a Caesar! This is most remarkable The bread is amazing-- a homemade cheese focaccia plus regular Italian, the mozzarella is of great quality, the mussels are so good and are served in a most fantastic broth that is healthy The house soup is brilliant. My bf ordered Chicken Marsala which looked great and came w/ a very healthy amount of spinach which he said was really good. I drank herbal tea, The Caramel cake is divine. We will definitely return and I will dress for the occasion. They are closed on Tuesday and open 4-9 otherwise Dessert wasn't necessary but I was curious. It's such a unique cake nothing like a slice but a petite cake with beads of caramel on top. One of the Hudson Valley's best restaurants for sure.

Yelp
Food very good, service also, ambiance noisy. Have been there many times, had almost everything on the menu, liked most of it. Artichoke has too much breadcrumbs and I will never order scallops again. I got 2 big scallops cut in half and for $54 it is ridiculous!!! When complained, waiter said it goes by weight and these were too big therefore was cut in half. Sorry I didn't take a picture...also risotto was overcooked. Pasta is usually the best.

Yelp
Delicious authentic food with reasonable portions. Friendly service. Would visit again

Yelp
First & last time at this restaurant . Ordered scallops..$58 for 4 scallops , risotto was over cooked and lobster sauce did not taste good. My daughter had pasta and it was delicious. So bummed ...

Phyllis C.

Yelp
Loved the lobster/shrimp pasta offering. The largest stuffed artichoke imaginable reminded me of my aunt's home cooking. Service staff is first class.

Yelp
Absolutely magnificent! We spent the weekend in Saugerties and decided to dine at Annarella for my cousin's birthday dinner. For appetizers, we started with Caesar salad, clams, and lamb meatballs. We thoroughly enjoyed each of them. Between our table, we had the lobster pasta, short rib pasta and the two specials - scallops and steak. Everything was delicious and the portions were a nice size.

Yelp
Food is outstanding! Rich in flavor and authentic Italian favorites. Service was friendl, attentive and made great recommendations. Cozy atmosphere. Reservation's recommended.

Yelp
For most restaurants, a packed parking lot on a Sunday night is extraordinary. For Annarella's, it's a regular occurrence. This place is worth the drive. As soon as you walk in, Tina greets you & lets you know you're in the right place. Steven was the perfect waiter--knowledgeable, attentive, but not intrusive. And the food sang to my eyes and our tastebuds. For me: Tonnarelli con Aragosta--home made pasta with lobster reduction, lobster meat, shrimp. For my Sicilian bride: Sacchetti--Ricotta filled beggars purse shaped pasta with white truffle infused cream sauce. Hungry yet?!? Mangia!

Yelp
Came here for my boyfriend's 30th birthday and the food and service were amazing! We started with the stuffed pepper special - which was (warning) super spicy but yummy, and the crab special which was soooo fresh and sweet. I had the halibut risotto special and my bf had the bone in veal parm. Both of our meals were great and we would definitely go to Annarella's again!

Amanda K.

Yelp
Annarella's is one of my favorites. We have been long time customers as we are Saugerties locals. The family is amazing, and their staff is great. We had great drinks, and the bartender even whipped up a mocktail for my mom as she doesn't drink alcohol anymore but still wants to have a fun drink. I got the mussels for a starter and they are in the best sauce that I wish I could drink. Pro tip: save some of the complimentary bread to dip in the sauce. For my main I got the short rib pasta, it was delicious and rich. For dessert, I got my usual tiramisu and coffee. What is it about restaurant coffee that is so much better than at home? The tiramisu is a must try, and something I always make sure to leave room for. We sat in the back room which is filled with various chandeliers. It is ornate and beautiful, and certainly adds to the experience!

Yelp
Second time visiting. First meal with a party of four yielded a 5-review. This time our reservation was mishandled and we ended up sitting directly to the left when one enters. Now, this would initially seem like an excellent vantage point for viewing the Christmas decor and diners but the sear I took essentially was a bench that spans the entire wall. My dining mate got the chair with only a view of me and the wall but I was paying and considered it fair. I was wrong. Sitting on a 90 and gel bench with some padding on the back was really uncomfortable. In fact, after leaving I was so grateful for my car's back massage driver seat. As for dinner, the entrees (clams casinos and escargot were excellent. These were followed some time later with a perfunctory dinner salad comprised exclusively of lettuce. Finally, after another 30 minutes waiting our entrees arrived. Mine contained some lobster in pasta covered with a lobster reduction sauce. My friend's dinner was halibut and received two thumbs up. During my first visit I had the pork chops which were excellent. Overall, my first review was biased by the beautiful decor, not so much the food. The menu is a bit thin with respect to seafood, unfortunately. The prices were much cheaper than I'd recalled the first trip. Bottom line: last night was probably my last visit to this venue. Others may find a lot of highly desirable dishes. Honestly, my mistake was not coming to Yelp and checking out the menu first to ensure there were some stellar dishes that I'd find appealing.

Yelp
Annarella"s is a lovely place tucked away in the outskirts of Saugerties. It's off the beaten path but well worth the trip. The exterior is quite unassuming, however, the interior reminds me of an old school white tablecloth NYC restaurant. Wait and bar staff are super frriendly, I felt like I was a regular on my first trip. They have a huge menu. My husband and I stuck with pasta dishes. He had linguini with lobster and I had orichette with sausage. Both were excellent. Dessert was pistachio gelato. Portions were large. Of course we had a nice bottle of wine with dinner... They have a huge wine list. And I can't forget to mention the pomegranate citrus martini and old-fashioned that we had before dinner. Highly recommend that martini. We are planning to return in the future.

Yelp
I wish I could give this place 10 stars. I've been coming to the Kingston/Saugerties area for a couple years now. This was my first time trying Annarella Ristorante. The service, atmosphere and food were absolutely incredible. I live in Long Island/ Queens. This restaurant blew all of my favorite Italian restaurants out of the water. I strongly recommend eating here. You will not be disappointed at all.
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever attended. Went here for the fifth time Thanksgiving day. The ambience, service and food quality were outstanding. Chef and owner is extremely friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Yelp
I was reallly looking forward to this restaurant but I am giving it a 3.5/4. My family and I spent a weekend in Saugerties for my Mother's 50th birthday and we decided to come here for her dinner celebration. After reading the reviews I thought it would be a great choice. I honestly was not left too impressed, except for the bread basket and the octopus antipasta. Everything else, including my lamb ragu special was very underwhelming. I'm not sure if it's because we're from NYC, famous for some amazing Italian restaurants, but the food was missing overall flavor and tasted bland. The only reason I didn't give a 2/3 is because our waitress was super friendly and was very attentive and sweet. At one point my sister found a piece of plastic in her lasagna and she kindly apologized and immediately brought her a new dish (which was cold but at that point she was so hungry she still ate it) and comped both meals and dessert. I think the staff is great, but food could be better especially for the $$$

Yelp
This place is adorable. Our son was in one of his moods which is the only thing that spoiled our time here. The food was amazing! My son who couldn't care less ate nothing and for some reason loved the floor in this place, he didn't want to get off it :P service was great despite our boy acting like a feral animal trapped in a cage lol. This was my favorite meal while in the area, just wish my son wasn't in one of his moods but no way is that their fault or anything. On the plus side we found out across the street the people have chickens, since our boy was taken outside by grandma since he would not behave :P I'd definitely come back here and highly recommend it.

Yelp
Jessica was our waitress this evening and the service she provided was absolutely outstanding. She delivered exceptional hospitality. It was my fiancé birthday and they let us bring our own cake, cut it, and sang happy birthday. I couldn't be more happy. Our food was incredible. Came out hot and looked and tasted perfect. This will always be our go to spot next time we are in the Catskills. Thank you for a wonderful evening. Atmosphere of restaurant is cozy and warm, lots of art work, clean, sensational!!!!

Yelp
Once again, Annarella's does not disappoint! My parents favorite Italian restaurant! Celebrating Dad's Birthday! Hands down the best restaurant in town! The roasted artichoke was a special treat! Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Why can't I give them 10 stars???

Cara J.

Yelp
If there was a 6 star option, ANNARELLA'S would absolutely deserve it. Made reservations for a "quiet table" specifically. We were given a lovely corner booth. The wine suggested by our server Angela (can't say enough about how accommodating and kind she was) paired perfectly with our meal. The food was remarkably well prepared with obviously fresh ingredients. Could not have asked for a better dining experience. 110% will return and recommend to friends! CJB

Yelp
Great cozy place in the Catskills. Very family friendly. We hit this place on the way up north. The homemade focaccia bread was delicious to start. Special stuffed artichoke was very good but needed a little more garlic and salt. The lobster and shrimp pasta was good although the sauce was a little too sweet for me......but they were nice enough to alter the recipe to make it just pomodoro instead of the brandy cream sauce so I can't really complain.

Mary M.

Yelp
One of my favorite Italian restaurants of all time! A true gem and I am so stoked that I found this place!! Every dish is amazing, which is so hard to find these days. (Must get a pasta dish and always get one of their specials!!) Staff is beyond friendly and you feel like family everytime you enter the place! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
The food is always amazing. You never get ignored and the servers watch and come right on time. Eating here is an experience. A very good experience, no matter how busy they are. Plus the atmosphere is so wonderful. Warm and cozy, inviting. A special place for special events.

Yelp
What a wonderful time! The food was amazing and the service was just as great! We brought in a cake and they cut and served it. Thank you! Our new favorite date and event spot!! My Birthday was fantastic.

Yelp
Such a great experience at Annarella! We went here to celebrate a birthday and they made the extra effort to make us feel special. We started off with the homemade bread which was so soft and memorable. We then got the appetizers which included the antipasto, burrata, bresaola, and lamb meatballs. The mortadella in the antipasto was so soft and delicious. The burrata paired so perfectly with the balsamic reduction and roasted vegetables. The lamb meatballs were so tender and the homemade bread was perfect to dip in the sauce which was super lemony and fresh. We also received salads with our mains which were very refreshing and was nice and light. After the appetizers, we went straight to our mains which included the lasagna and the paccheri. The lasagna was pretty good and was a huge portion. The paccheri (creamy short rib pasta) was absolute perfection. When I tell you that I dream about this pasta, I mean it. It was absolutely incredible and you need to try it! The service was quick and attentive. I loved how they came over with the biggest black pepper grinder I've ever seen. It was quite the spectacle! Very cute place and will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Friendly staff, quaint bar, food was solid, would go back. My wife really liked the menu choices and variety.

Yelp
Excellent freshly prepared food love the ambiance Great service We had caprese salad double cut pork and Dijon salmon

Yelp
As a C.E.C. who specializes in Italian food, I am constantly looking for an Italian Restaurant that is at my standards. This out of the way place comes close to how I make my cuisine and serve it. First point goes to the basket of bread, Focaccia and baguette slices accompanied with 3 different Hummus'. Our app was the Antipasto (Meats and Cheese with olives) which was spot on (the only critique was the Sopressata was sliced a little to thick). The House salad was a pleasant surprise with Mesclun mix and shaved fennel dressed with a light Vinaigrette. I like my Veal Parm. I dislike over pounded leg slices that are overcooked and lack flavor (some Restaurants use Pork to fool you). To me you should be using a Veal Chop with the bone. Whole, pounded or butterflied with a seasoned breading and a marinara that doesn't come right out of a can. The Chef delivered. The only thing I wanted was a bigger Chop. It was that much better then the 98% of Italian Restaurants in Upstate New York. My Companion had Halibut over Risotto. Nice size portion that was moist and flavorful. Dessert was as good as it gets. The Ricotta pie was exceptional and the Tiramisu was delicious. Attention to detail and spot on service. My Italian food is damn good, but when I don't want to cook, we have a new place to enjoy.

Yelp
Ambiance lovely, food is delicious. Staff careful and attentive. Good for celebration in

Vincent C.

Yelp
ambiance does not work for this place the most charming space you could ask for, warm, comforting, cozy, intimate, inviting, just special, but things don't stop there. the staff is just unbelievable ,friendly, welcoming, attentive, sincere, you feel like they are there just for you. ok enough with accolades. The FOOD that's why i went, so the big problem is the specials are so many and the menu is so tempting that you are stymied, so i found out it didn't matter just point and ask for it.the entire meal from the bread to the dessert is just so amazing without question. we ordered too many items to list. preparation of everything was without a question amazing . Go out of your way to find this out of the way place. truly a hidden treasure.

Yelp
Great Italian American food. Great ambience and service. Worthy of a 30+ minute drive.

Yelp
Took my family here this past Friday night after travelling up from NYC. We were happy to see that they could seat us, and we were seated immediately. We were greeted with a smile, and that was appreciated. I've already forgotten some of what we ordered, but I remember that my wife ordered the mushroom risotto, which was totally delicious. Definitely worth remembering! Really interesting, complex flavors... made a great breakfast the next morning for me. I do remember the house salad dressing was a "lemony" mixture that was unimpressive, and the salad itself was sparsely dressed, so they got me some extra dressing. I would go with oil and vinegar next time. The dressing wasn't BAD... maybe just not my thing. You might love it if you're into "lemony" dressing. Oh... and for my main I got a special... the Eggplant Rollatini (3 rolls as a main). Damn... that was EXCELLENT. Every bite was heaven. So soft, the cheese inside was great, and the tomato sauce has that beautifully sweet but kicking flavor. Each was about as big as a nice, fat Chinese Egg Roll. My daughter got this (it's all coming back to me now!) pretty damn good dish that I thought was Gnocci, but was actually some other kind of pasta in a cream sauce. I think it was called Sacchette. That was pretty damned good too. I liked our server, and at some point at the end of the meal and we had asked for the check, we couldn't find her to get a dessert instead. (There's always room for some sorbet!) The waitress for the neighboring tables helped us, and it was nice to see their willingness to help someone else's table, whether that be because of pooled tips or management or just good will... it's a great thing. The Lemon Sorbet was really good, served in a whole, frozen lemon. All in all, I have to say, the place comes pretty close to 5 stars.

Yelp
While I someday hope to actually dine AT Annarella when this stupid pandemic blows over, settling for takeout isn't so bad when it's as outstanding as the meal we just had. This is my parents' favorite restaurant in the area, and with good reason. When we were deciding what to order, my mom said she doesn't care what we get (my father is much, much pickier for the record) because everything they make is good. And she was right. We shared the burrata with grilled vegetables, the risotto with mushrooms, the lasagna, the polenta with grilled sausage (a whole pinwheel!) and broccoli rabe, and the pappardelle with a wild boar ragu. They included some lovely focaccia and country bread, as well as a simple salad of greens and thinly sliced cauliflower lightly dressed in olive oil and vinegar, and it was the perfect meal. I wish I could tell you my favorite dishes, but they were all stellar. If we ordered again, I would simultaneously want everything we got, and also want to try new items as well. Everything was high quality and delicious, and I ate far, far more than I should've because I was enjoying it so much. We'll work through the menu eventually, but I'm confident it's all good here.
google avatar

Mary V.

Yelp
This is by far the best Italian restaurant for a special occasion in Greene County. We enjoyed the ambiance and everything we ordered. A group of 6 celebrating a birthday.
google avatar

Sana K.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Good service. Kept dark in here. It was bright n sunny outdoors but walking in you'd think it was 9pm. It appears a fancy restaurant but at the bar you'll find regulars of all sorts. Saw a man come in covered in soot/dirt/oil help himself to a beer at the bar. Found that interesting. I ordered the mussels which were good but I've had better. The bread that came with it was good with the broth. The pinot noir was good. The salad was good that came with the entree which was mixed greens with some cauliflower n cabbage with house dressing. I got the lobster pasta. It lacked a little flavor and sauce. I got crushed pepper with it. Was a little dry. It came with a jumbo shrimp that def wasn't completely cooked. I cut into it and it was still raw. I didn't want to take any chances so I didn't eat it. The lobster was good though. Bar tender was awesome. Creme brulee was good but maybe didn't set all the way because it was runny and not custard like. It still tasted good though and I ate it.

George D.

Yelp
Food and service were excellent, the chef came around to the tables and spoke with everyone. Friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed it so much we went back again the next day.

Peter D.

Yelp
Our only regret is that we got take-away and didn't stay to take in the ambiance. Great clams casino and past dishes. Hope to return when we come through the area again.

Brax W.

Yelp
Food was amazing!!!, went for my birthday while staying at AutoCamp and was delighted by the service and quality of food. Ask for Angela, she made the service 100x better.

Karen S.

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance and good, fresh food. We had bean and farro zuppa, eggplant rollatine, and haddock special which we enjoyed. Excellent service. We'll return when we travel through to /from our ski trips in Vermont. Not many options for good food just off the highway. We felt fortunate to find this place reading the reviews on Yelp.

Keith S.

Yelp
From the outside, you might think it wd be a typical upstate red sauce joint. This, most assuredly, is not. The inside is dark with a slight bit of homey kitsch. The prices are nyc high but the quality is very high. The appetizer portion of mussels arrived perfectly cooked. All open, all juicy, with a nice sauce of garlic olive oil, shallots snd allegedly Pernod, though I didn't detect any of the latter These were the best prepared mussels I have eaten in the us. Better than any I have had in nyc. The lamb shank was massive and fall off the bone tender. The halibut over risotto was intensely flavored. The only criticism is that risotto was a bit bland as if cooked with water instead of stock. This did allow the subtle flavor of the fish to stand out and it was otherwise perfectly cooked. The pasta dish with several meats looked good. The tiramisu was fresh and light. I didnt try the coffee though I was told it was good. For some reason, even the best restaurants serve terrible coffee, or watery espresso. I can't rate it as I didn't taste it. I didn't want to risk spoiling my overall great experience. The wine by the glass was well cared for. Not the typical mediocre bottle that's been open at least since yesterday. That care reflects the care taken with every aspect of the meal. The service was attentive and knowledgeable without being obtrusive. This is the best restaurant for miles around.

Yelp
Annarella is an incredible find just off the highway on your way from update New York to NYC. It's a beautiful small town Italian restaurant with outdoor patio seating and a large dining room with a bar. The owner clearly takes pride in his work and it trickles down to the servers. Our server was incredible. The menu is large and anything you get will be delicious. My wife ordered the mussels and they were excellent. Our daughter loved her meatballs and my oriecchiette alla salsiccia was perfect. The bread basket they bring each table is full of delicious breads. They also have great wines and cocktails. We HIGHLY recommend stopping at this place and splurging (prices are like in NYC, but for quality food, we'll take it).
google avatar

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS GODS GIFT TO THE WORLD! MARK. MY. WORDS. I come all the way over here from jersey on the weekends just to get a taste of what real Italian food should taste like. Service was extremely excellent. Food is fantastic. I recommend the chicken parm or lobster spaghetti if you come. And the desserts are out of this world. Forever in love with this place.

TJ K.

Yelp
Wonderful food and service. We had clams casino which was yummy. The bread basket is great. Love the intermezzo salad. Lasagna, veal special and halibut were tasty and generous sized. The pac man game near the bathrooms is totally random but we had fun playing it. The gelato was the smoothest I've ever had.

Heather T.

Yelp
Amazing yummy food! We went late just an hour before closing and sat at the bar. Bartender was great, food came out quickly. Complimentary bread was delicious and not your basic bread and butter that every place usually serves. Will be back next time we're in the area.

Yelp
Great service, food is excellent and nice atmosphere ! I've been there twice on vacation and it's a great spot for authentic Italian cuisine

Jeff L.

Yelp
Very good Italian for this neck of the woods. It's very old school Ny Italian which was just what we were looking for. Pasta dishes were the best.

Barbara B.

Yelp
We have been here many times and had excellent meals; tonight's was somewhat of a disappointment. Our waitress was excellent and listened at the end of our dinner to our disappointments and provided desserts, which we hadn't asked for, but was very sweet. But the young staff hovered and kept trying to rush us and take away our plates, which we were still working on. We asked them to "slow down" the service. We understand wanting turns but we felt too hurried to finish. The salmon was overcooked and an unappealing small tail piece. The other dish--shrimp with beans--was too many beans but tasty. We will return and hope for the five-star quality we have become accustomed to. Prices are fair for the portion size and overall quality. We also probably won't come again on a Saturday eve when it is so busy, which is great for the restaurant.

Yelp
I've Ben here several times while visiting my father in law, Tom, and used to restaurants in Manhattan, I can tell you this a great place, no doubts.

Yelp
If you want a magical night, with phenomenal service, atmosphere and food then please put this beautiful place in your list of places to go. We came up to hike and this was recommended. You will not be disappointed! Please don't expect to be eating in a bar or diner. Upscale everything! My boyfriend and I loved it!

Yelp
Annarella has just moved into first place as not only my favorite restaurant and dining experience in the Hudson Valley, but maybe anywhere. It's for sure in the top 5, and everything about this place is absolutely perfect in the most unique, elegant-yet-comfortable, delicious and gorgeous way. All staff members are beyond welcoming and compassionate and fun to be around, the food is out of this world, the decor makes me want to live there, and I can't believe it took me so long to be aware it existed! Every single dish was beyond amazing, including the cocktails. I can't wait to go back and take photos and post another amazing review! Annarella is A MUST for anyone who enjoys dining out, unique dishes, and some of the usual suspects, and who enjoys a truly comforting and elegant atmosphere...there is certainly no place just like it, and that's another reason we adore this place, the food, the chef, the everything!
