Visited on a 'free' entrance day so it was quite crowded. Lots of info on laminated cards to show how Tudor folk lived plus some comtemporary furniture, which should be better protected to dtop it being damaged. Some of the exhibits looked a bit 'tired'. The layout was rather confusing too, a clearer route through the house and garden might help as we ended up going back on ourselves. There's also a cafe serving drinks and snacks.

Historic and splendid. The house is seemingly easy to translate, although much 'improved' throughout the last 500 years. A gift (from Henry viii) perhaps to Thomas Cromwell for his contributions in Destroying the Priory (Lewes)? Obviously, he fell out of favour (beheaded) and it subsequently became the property of Anne of Cleaves (one of the wives)

You can see about 4 rooms of Anne of Cleves 15th century house (though note she probably never lived here). There are quite a few stairs, and it’s a bit of an odd layout. However, there are interesting items and signs about the house’s history, architectural style, and items from the time period. Tickets: They offer a combined ticket with Lewes Castle, and if you gift aid your ticket it is good for the year. Facilities: They have a small shop, clean toilets, and a cafe (though we did not visit these)

Stopped for a coffee and bun during a 35mile cycle ride and was do glad I did. Lovely coffee, amazing food available with some nice lunch options but I had a pain a raisin which was so fresh, although I nearly plumped for the amazing looking almond croissant 😁 Sat in a nicely presented cottage garden and felt very relaxed. Would definitely recommend. 👌

I recently visited the Anne of Cleves House Museum, and while it was a pleasant enough experience, it’s worth noting that Anne of Cleves herself never actually lived there. The house was part of her divorce settlement from Henry VIII, but she never resided in it, which might be disappointing for those expecting a closer connection to her life. The museum itself is fine, offering a glimpse into Tudor life with some interesting exhibits and period furnishings. The building is charming, and the gardens are lovely, but it’s a fairly small attraction overall. If you’re in the area and have an interest in history, it’s worth a visit, though don’t expect anything too in-depth about Anne herself.

A small house with only a few rooms, however some of the most amazing historically kept, beautiful examples of Tudor rooms I’ve ever seen, a dreamy way to spend an hour really taking in Anne of Cleves house. It’s truly magnificent you can almost see Anne coming down the corridor- small and mighty 10/10

Purchased combined tickets for this and the castle. There is a lovely rear garden with quince and pear trees. The house is interesting and preserved to resemble how it would have been.

Yelp
Now a museum, this excellent example of a 16th-century timber-framed house formed part of the divorce settlement to Anne of Cleves from Henry VIII in 1541. Although there is no evidence that she ever visited it, it is a fascinating example of a substantial Wealden Hall-house. Some of the rooms are furnished to reflect the period when it was built. The house also contains a museum with a varied collection of historic artifacts from Sussex's past, though I found these only mildly diverting.

Yelp
There's tons of ancient history to be seen here. A beautiful old timber-framed house that formed part of Anne's divorce settlement from Henry VIII in 1541. If you are interested in your Sussex history, this place is steeped in it. Old pottery and iron work are dotted all around the place. Strangely enough, for a property that was involved in a very famous divorce, the house is licensed for weddings and is very popular indeed. Personally though I'd find that a bit odd but it is a very beautiful place indeed. Please note, due to the age of the house, its not the best place to bring anyone in a wheel chair, they have installed ramps where they can but you may find it a little difficult.
