Great museum that is really a preserved house of historic importance. Obviously run by volunteers who care for this house and have the passion and dedication to back it up! It was inexpensive to get in and definitely worth it. The place veritably reeks of history and each of the rooms tell their own story involved with the life and times of Anne of Cleves, who we learn, might not have been Henry VIII's type, but did survive her marriage and became a friend to the King later on in life! There is a cafe on site but it was shut on the day we visited. However, the helpful staff directed us to a nearby garden cafe where we could enjoy our tea and cakes in the sunshine and reflect on our visit to this most beautiful of 'semi-hidden' historical wonders. Worth a visit anytime.

What a wonderful place. The house has been kept very much untouched for the most part. There is plenty to read and learn. The staff was very enthusiastic and pleasant. They did ask if I was interested in a combination ticket with Lewes Castle too. I had just been to Lewes Castle where they did not tell me about this option. The little tea room in the house too was lovely

Well presented Tudor house, although I had not appreciated that Anne of Cleves hadn't actually lived in the house. Nonetheless, it was worth seeing, and the cafe was excellent.

We visited this with the Lewes Castle combo ticket. Not a large site BUT very informative and well done. Recommended to include there is an adjacent cafe as well.

A bit of a letdown. House has been cleared and doesn't show what it really would have looked like. The gardens are manicured and don't have any vegetables growing. How this is supposed to represent where 22 people lived when Anne rented the place out, is beyond me.

Nice museum, but be aware that while Anne of Cleves owned this house, she remained a landlord, renting it out to a wealthy farmer and never lived here. Parking is tough, so be prepared to start your search as you approach the building. You can get through this place in about 30 minutes, taking your time. Recommendation: Stop if you're in the neighborhood, but don't make a special trip.

You can see about 4 rooms of Anne of Cleves 15th century house (though note she probably never lived here). There are quite a few stairs, and it’s a bit of an odd layout. However, there are interesting items and signs about the house’s history, architectural style, and items from the time period. Tickets: They offer a combined ticket with Lewes Castle, and if you gift aid your ticket it is good for the year. Facilities: They have a small shop, clean toilets, and a cafe (though we did not visit these)

Visited on a 'free' entrance day so it was quite crowded. Lots of info on laminated cards to show how Tudor folk lived plus some comtemporary furniture, which should be better protected to dtop it being damaged. Some of the exhibits looked a bit 'tired'. The layout was rather confusing too, a clearer route through the house and garden might help as we ended up going back on ourselves. There's also a cafe serving drinks and snacks.

Yelp
Now a museum, this excellent example of a 16th-century timber-framed house formed part of the divorce settlement to Anne of Cleves from Henry VIII in 1541. Although there is no evidence that she ever visited it, it is a fascinating example of a substantial Wealden Hall-house. Some of the rooms are furnished to reflect the period when it was built. The house also contains a museum with a varied collection of historic artifacts from Sussex's past, though I found these only mildly diverting.

Yelp
There's tons of ancient history to be seen here. A beautiful old timber-framed house that formed part of Anne's divorce settlement from Henry VIII in 1541. If you are interested in your Sussex history, this place is steeped in it. Old pottery and iron work are dotted all around the place. Strangely enough, for a property that was involved in a very famous divorce, the house is licensed for weddings and is very popular indeed. Personally though I'd find that a bit odd but it is a very beautiful place indeed. Please note, due to the age of the house, its not the best place to bring anyone in a wheel chair, they have installed ramps where they can but you may find it a little difficult.
