Anno Restaurant

We had lunch in this restaurant and we liked the bacalao so much that we decided to repeat again. However, the second time the service wasn’t so good, we were waiting a long time to order and it was a bit caothic. Besides, there was a problem with tap water in the city, so we ordered mineral water instead. However, we saw the waiter full the bottle in from a big jug and the taste was quite weird. I doubt it was “mineral”. The food is quite good but the service should be improved.

Get the codfish plate. The fish has Superior level quality. The kind you get in Lisbon. Snowy white meat and perfectly cooked as well. Top shelf stuff 👍

Was hungry for a pizza and my AirBnb host suggested this place. Was not disappointed. Nice zesty sauce and great blend of flavors on the pizza. Crust was perfect. And the location was central to Ålesund. Three stars for service since I sat myself, got my own water refills, and bussed my table.

The kilp fish which was a salted cod was really good and garnished with capers, olives, raisins, chorizo and potatoes. Their pizzas are also great, we had a margarita which was just perfect. This is a must restaurant in Alesund.

I had a lovely experience at Anno Restaurant in Norway. The location is perfect, with a beautiful and upscale atmosphere that makes it feel like a special dining spot — yet still welcoming and comfortable. We didn’t have a reservation and they seemed quite busy, so I was really grateful they were able to accommodate me and my mom on short notice. The frites were absolutely delicious, crispy and golden, and the sauce they came with was so flavorful — I could’ve eaten a whole plate just of those! I also ordered the mushroom pasta, which was so good I couldn’t finish it in one sitting and had to take the rest to go so I could enjoy it later. Rich, savory, and perfectly cooked. Overall, a wonderful meal with great service. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Had a nice dinner there last week. Everybody in our company was satisfied. I took the trout which was really good! Good service and a really nice view of the beautiful Ålesund guest harbour.

Just by the lake, lovely indoor and outdoor setting. Food and drinks were served quick and tastes amazing. Staff very friendly. Recommend the Annoburger- the best burger I have ever had!!

Delicious Norwegian food served here. Nice and cosy ambience too. The fish soup is milky and flavourful. The ingredients in the soup, fish and shrimps were so fresh. The focaccia with chicken was just as good too. This restaurant is self-service except for the dishes ordered. As for coffee, you can give this place a miss.

PRO TIP if you're in a hurry this place is not for you! We spent about 2 and a half hours here, most of the time waiting for the food. Also be sure to get your waiters attention, they seemed to not be super attentive to the tables. But the food itself was excellent and was just about worth the wait. The music playing was also quite relaxing so if you got some time to kill go enjoy this place! Although it does get busy about 6pm so get in there around 5 for dinner.

I have eaten from Anno twice in the past three days. My pasta and cosmopolitan were delicious! I ate all of my pasta and I enjoyed that the cream sauce was flavorful and filled with meaty mushrooms. We dined on the patio, which was great because the day was very sunny and created for the ideal patio experience. Today I went back to get carryout, a margarita pizza with added pepperoni. The restaurant is doing something right because it was busy both and full at both of my visits. If I ever visit Alesund again, I'll for sure make my way back to Anno.

Stumbled upon this place on a cruise stop in Norway and had, hands down, THE best mushroom pasta of my life! Sadly, I do not have a picture of it on my phone, but JUST TRUST ME!! Also sat outside and could see the water and enjoyed a freshly poured Hansa. 10/10 would recommend if you're visiting Ålesund!

When we arrived back from Hurtigruten on a Sunday evening at 7, Anno was one of few open restaurants. And we were very lucky, because the kitchen closed at 8. This is a rather new place - opened 2011. For Sunday evening they have the lunch menu to choose from. Which means less choices I guess. But we didn't mind, we wanted to try the stone oven baked pizzas. We've heard for years that the prices for pizzas in Norway are shameless! Well, Norway IS expensive. Just adjust if you decide to go here. The filled part of the pizza was good - but the unsalted crust leaves more to wish for. It was NOK 175 for this "half the size" asymmetric pizza. Don't go here hungry like a wolf! The desserts were both fine. The waitress was indeed nice, but not very professional nor attentive - paying too much time gossiping with another guest when the rest of us were waiting to order or pay. This place is OK when you want something less fancy but be prepared to wait for service.

Great pizza, great pasta and great wine...we liked the vibe too, probably our favorite meal in Norway so far!

My friend and I stopped here after arriving in Ålesund via a Hurtigruten cruise from Bergen. I ordered the tagliatelle pasta with mushrooms and my friend ordered the scallops, and lobster tail (2 separate appetizers). My pasta was incredible! Lots of mushrooms and a delicious creamy sauce. It was the perfect option after eating primarily seafood for the past couple weeks. I tried my friends scallops which were also amazing, and I'm generally not a huge fan of scallops. I did not try the lobster, but my friend said it was also delicious. We ordered the lime panna cotta for dessert which came with a raspberry sauce. It was light and refreshing and very tasty! We both agreed that this was perhaps the best meal we had during our entire 2 weeks in Norway. Our server was also super sweet and helpful. I would definitely recommend Anno to anyone visiting Ålesund.

Good view, Good Food and not to crowded. Price and quality as expected. Not the cheapest place but approved.
