This place was a real treat. I stopped in to pick up a to go order and had a beer before I left. I really enjoy atmosphere and once I got back I was so pleased with the food preparation. True taste of Thailand a lot better than places I’ve had in East Hollywood. Hard to believe this jewels in small town in Wyoming stop in Rawlins. Plenty of parking and you will not be disappointed.

Google
Yummy. I just moved here and was so happy to see I could order Thai food. I called in and ordered take out. The menu was easy to get to online. The women who took my call was easy to give my order to. It was done in 20 minutes and the cost wasn’t bad at all. The rice was cooked well and so were the veggies. I look forward to trying more stuff here.

Google
The food here is delicious and prepared so quickly! The staff is very friendly and they have a decent lunch special. They have Thai tea and boba - and mango sticky rice! We loved our food and will definitely be back here. One thing I'd note is that the spice levels are a little tamed from what you might get somewhere else, so if you're looking for more spice, go up a level from what you normally would request at another restaurant. There was indoor seating but we didn't see any outdoor seating.

Google
A family owned restaurant that has amazing food! The portion size was more than enough. The service was really quick. The waitress was the most professional and attentive I have ever experienced. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and sesame chicken appetizer.

Google
Wow! On a road-trip, this was a random spot we picked to eat at. So glad we did! Easy 5 stars. Service was wonderful, waitress in training was awesome. Food was amazing! Beef pad Thai, chicken pad Thai, soup, Thai rice with chicken, and chicken panang curry were all delicious. Would have never thought about searching out a Thai restaurant here, but so happy we found it!

Google
Excellent, unusually flavorful food. Service was chaotic: sometimes multiple servers stopping by within moments of each other about the same question; other times no one stopped by about refills or offered dessert. Only received a napkin near the end of the meal. One server handed back my card and informed me in a disgusted tone that they don't accept Amex. I couldn't find that posted anywhere, only that checks aren't.

Google
Don't trust the high rated reviews if you are used to eating great Thai from an area large enough that won't support substandard Thai cooking. The lo main was not pan fried, it was heated rubbery spaghetti with a sauce poured over it. If it was pan fried, it wouldn't be sitting in a pool of watery sauce. The Thai fried rice was not stir fried. The rice was was mixed with a decent sauce but not even mixed thoroughly. There were clumps of bright white rice that didn't get covered in the sauce. Very few basil leaves and chicken dry. Both dishes were luke warm, another sign they were not stir fried, the dishes came out too quick for them to have cooled down in the kitchen. The sesame chicken was piping hot, but were frozen pieces of chicken fried in old oil. The service was quick and staff friendly.

Google
Excellent food and friendly respectful service. My table tried the steamed dumplings, spicy thai fried rice, ginger chicken, and spicy pork eggplant. All the dishes were amazing. We will visit again next time we are in the area.

Yelp
Quickly ran into this restaurant during our road trip, thinking this would be a very average Southeast Asian Restaurant. I was quickly proven wrong. Upon entering the restaurant, you're greeted very well and very politely. Coming from a Californian Southeast Asian, and in my honest opinion, this was the best sesame chicken I've ever had. Period. The crunchy texture is something I've never experienced before. Please try it if you are a local. The beef larb was also refreshing. You can taste the fried, grinded seasoning that gives it the grainy texture that makes larb stand out from any other beef dishes out there. Amazing place. The small town is absolutely spoiled for having such a spot.

Yelp
Quick stop in from AZ for a visit with family. Been here over 13 years ago, the place look about the same, no hostess in front but a little boy greeted us and sat us in the corner. He brought us Thai Teas, is this legal? Anyway, took a while to get a menu because they didn't ask if we wanted a menu or a lunch buffet. I don't do buffet when eating at new places. Ordered Chicken satay, beef salad and beef noodle soup. The satay is freshly made and cooked to perfection, not hard or rubbery like some other places in LA. Beef salad, the sauce is good but the slices of the beef is off putting, the cuts are way too big/thick. Beef noodle soup was delicious and so generous with the noodles, too much for me. Overall, small town like this, this Thai place is pretty good, coming from a Thai person who cooks. I'd recommend my in-laws to visit this place. Great prices too.

Yelp
Inadequate service. Granted, I know some small towns run a bit slower, but Cheese and Crackers -- we waited 30 minutes and our order still wasn't taken. We were in no rush and were fine waiting, but at the 15-minute mark, we asked for a Pepsi, never got it and were passed over constantly. The straw that broke my back: a couple that had just been seated was served quickly and had their order taken within minutes.

Yelp
Good price for a good lunch buffet with dessert. I like their fried banana for the dessert. I also ordered Thai tea & it was perfect on a very hot day in July. It wasn't too sweet for my taste. I was surprised to see a good Thai restaurant in this part of town. I'm from Southern California & there are many good Asian restaurants. If Anong was located in my area, there would be a very long line to get in to eat their delicious Thai Cuisine!

Grant H.

Yelp
Friendly staff, and amazing food! While at first glance the price seems just a little high, the food was out extremely quickly and had plenty of portion size to boot. Certainly worth both the price and a visit!

Yelp
Surprisingly great and tasty Thai for a roadtrip stop! The complimentary chicken and rice soup as an appetizer is delicious as well. Service was quick and polite since we wanted to get in and out. There's plenty of seating and space. Highly recommend if you're hungry on a roadtrip and passing through the area!

Yelp
Food okay, except for the Sesame Chicken. overly battered and overly fried with barely any chicken within. service horrible, waitresses not nice and if you don't like how they prepared your food, tough. do not even think about asking them to make you something else. if they do, beware, you'll be paying for two meals instead of one. I thought it was a mistake, talked to waitresses saying refused to pay for bad Sesame Chicken and had cops at my table within minutes. never did they apolgize for the poorly prepared meal, never did they say lets split I (it was $18 meal) - nope called the cops. The 2 cops and 3 sheriffs that showed up, yes 5 law enforcement officers. What the heck. was willing to pay for the three meals, not the fourth Sesame Chicken which I returned. Wow, what horrible customer service. ordered from there a few times. Not any more.

Yelp
We were traveling through WY & stopped at Rawlins for the night! We were so happy we found Anong's - we had chicken pad thai, lo mein and sesame chicken. May have been the best Pad Thai I've ever had! The sauce was perfection & the heat was just right ( I got a 3)!! So so good!!!! The LoMein noodles were good too & full of yummy veggies! My son devoured them!!! Definitely will visit again when our travels bring us close!

Yelp
Great food and fast service. We called the order in while driving on a long road trip, it was ready right when they told us it would be.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible food, NOT your typical sloppy thick sauces. Ordered the crab Rangoon, nice and crispy, really tasty. The Asparagus shrimp was delightful, the veggies were crisp and bright, they will stay on my radar when I'm Wyoming.

Yelp
Some of the best food you can get in the area I'd say! Portions were very generous and the food came out looking like the pics on the wall for sure. They also have some adult beverage options to enjoy. The service was a bit slow but I am not sure what exactly to expect in this area! I did see a lot of waitstaff eating, which is great, I love to see people being fed and nourished, just don't slouch on service or beverages is my only issue. Will definitely hit this place again when in this area for work.

Yelp
We were so surprised to find this fantastic restaurant in Rawlings cooking authentic Thai food. We did not eat in the restaurant however there were a lot of people dining. Great service and ambiance even for pickup. Definitely would visit again.
google avatar

Yelp
Pad thai was satisfying, though pretty standard. The curry chicken was dry, though, and the sauce was pretty watery. Probably would still come back again if we're passing through town though.

Yelp
This place was hopping on a Monday night. Every time we come through Rawlins I think about eating here but this is the first time I actually visited. Small place and we grabbed the last two top which was in the front corner of the restautant. Uh oh. You know what usually happens when you are tucked away. And it did. Took a while for the server to make it over. Not a big deal. It is a big deal when you are trying to get the server's attention because you haven't received your drink and the appetizer has arrived. Or when the bill was placed on the table right after entrees served and you'd like to order some dessert after dinner. No eye contact and the hand in the air didn't work. Short of chasing her down in the dining room, the only other option was to stand up both times and wave frantically. Sigh. The food was good. Pad Kee Mao was tasty but a little light on the pork. Tom Kka was very good and those crispy chicken wings were divine. I will give it another shot, trying to visit when it's a bit slower.

Yelp
Buffet looked a little sad, so we ordered off the menu for lunch. We had the Crab Rangoon appetizer and the Pot Stickers. Both were delicious and perfectly prepared. For an entree, I had the Thai Spicy Fried Rice with pork. YUMMY! My friend had the Pad Thai with Chicken and he liked it. Our server, Faith, was super nice as were all the service staff. I will definitely go back here again next time i'm in Rawlins.

Yelp
After seeing other reviews, we stopped here on a road trip. Unexpectedly great food! Delicious.

Yelp
My mother and I were in a road trip and stopped one night in WY. We had dinner at Anong's Thai Cuisine...it did not disappoint one bit. The service was friendly, attentive, and efficient. Dishes were large portions so sharing was fun and nothing went to waste. It's a nice cozy space with Thai influenced decor. We enjoyed the dining experience.

Bella P.

Yelp
We had the curry shrimp and pad Thai!!! Excellent and so flavorful. The complimentary soup was perfect before our meal! I wish we lived in Rawlings so we can eat there again!!

Yader O.

Yelp
I would give 0 stars if possible. The beef larb smelled of old rotten fish and I have eaten many dishes that contained fish sauce, I even cook with it at times. Later I found a hair in my curry after I poured it out to take it to go in the very bottom of the bowl. When I told the owner about the she violently said never come back, you don't want to pay. I said of course I would pay if there were no hair, which I told her I was disgusted from the hair and definitely was not bringing my to go box either. She came out from the kitchen yelling, don't come back, don't come back. I then told her that was horrible customer service and not to worry I would definitely not be back.

John M.

Yelp
I like ordering the steak salad. It's so good!! The food at Anongs is so good. When we eat out that's the place we go too.

Yelp
Very authentic flavors. Rich broth for the Beef noodle soup. Chicken satay was dry. Peanut sauce was great. Forgot I was in Wyoming.

Yelp
I was so excited to see a well-rated Thai restaurant in the middle of our road trip. We love trying local places & enjoy meeting the people. My name is not Karen. I don't think I've ever given a 1-star review before. I own a retail business myself and always assume positive intent. I try hard to extend a little grace, especially to front line staff who have little control over difficult situations. If I do get poor service I usually just don't leave a review. The service today was so incredibly unacceptable I feel compelled to share. We arrived at about 12:15 - so it's lunch rush & a small wait isn't unheard of. So we were delighted to see 2 open tables when we walked in. It was actually a 4-top & a 2-top pushed together but there was plenty of room to move them apart. There were 2 young ladies serving the dining room. After a few minutes 1 of them came up to us & told us their tables were full & it would be 20 minutes or more wait. We were surprised. I asked her if the 2 tables in front of us were reserved; she said the boss requires them to save that for parties of 8 or more (again, it was a 6-top). I said, "you sure that's required? Do you get a lot of parties that size at lunch?" She said her boss was strict about that and they do often get larger parties. We could tell a few parties were nearly finished so said we were ok to wait. At that point another party (of 2) arrived. They were told it would be just a few minutes. About 5 minutes later the other server came over and said "I'm sorry but you are going to have to wait a few minutes. My boss said that if you're going to be disrespectful we can't serve you. Did you still want to wait?" I was completely dumbfounded. We hadn't said anything else or done anything but wait patiently. So I said, "I'm sorry but I don't know what you mean. All I did was ask if those tables were reserved." She said ok. About 5 minutes later a table opened up. She came and told me that the boss said she could seat us there; she just needed to clean it. So she cleared it & told the other server to clean it, which she did. They did not seat us. Then another table opened up; they cleaned it quickly and seated the other party. Still ignored us. So we thought maybe they assumed we knew we could sit down since they had told us it would be our table, & sat down. 5 minutes go by during which they neither looked at us or brought us menus. The other party got menus when they sat down. They came & took their order & still ignored us. At this point it was obvious they didn't want to serve us, so we decided to leave. It's really too bad because the food looked delicious. If they had just seated us when the next table had become available & fed us, I'm sure the food would have recovered the experience. I've honestly never been so poorly treated in a restaurant anywhere.

Yelp
My first time coming here and I am not disappointed. The service was excellent, they give free homemade chicken rice soup for starters. I ordered the spicy chicken fried rice and it was delicious. I definitely recommend this place if you're in Rawlings.
google avatar

Yelp
I always recommend this restaurant! We have tried it in three different cities (Cheyenne, Laramie, Rock Springs) and it is consistently delicious, nice staff, and a clean restaurant.

Yelp
ANONG'S is my go to. Probably the most consistent restaurant in Rawlins. Dive in. The Larb with beef is great. Sesame chicken is great too. Can't really go wrong here.

Yelp
So after leaving Denver at 7:30 in the morning on our way to SLC we wanted to stop off for a place to eat. Found this on yelp and couldn't believe a Thai place could get a 4.5 rating on yelp so I wanted fo check it out. I was skeptical but Anong's made a believer out of me! So I have to admit I'm not a big Thai food fan. Pad thai and pad sew are prolly mu favorites but the hubs likes Thai food and he claimed it was better than what he gets in the Bay Area. Cuz of that I was gonna give it 5 stars based on his likings but he said it's my account so I should rate it. Hahahahah. Sorry I never give 5 stars except maybe The Sea. Anyways, we rolled up in our dusty car from our 2 week road trip and the aromas from the restaurant at 11:10 am were amazing. We ordered the beef pad thai and lunch special. All I can say is that for $12 the portion was huge! It was seasoned just right and the texture of the noodles was spot on. Hubs liked the lunch plate but I was not impressed but what do I know about Thai food? I did like their "lo mein" that was with the special cuz it tasted like garlic noodles. They have 3 locations so I was worried it's a chain but I'm guessing the owner just makes sure each one stays true to their name. Yum! I'd definitely make this my go to spot if they had one in the Bay Area.

Yelp
We tried Anong's on a Friday evening. It was quite busy, but we were able to get a table quickly and without a wait. The service was very good. I ordered the Panang Curry and thought it was good but not the best I ever had. My friend ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and said it was just ok. I think overall I would go there again and maybe order something different. The service was friendly and very quick. There was an abundance of wait staff, which these days is a rarity! I think the prices weee about right.

Laura D.

Yelp
The green curry was thin and had little flavor. The other people we went with enjoyed their meals but mine was very bland and not good!
google avatar

Larry C.

Yelp
Excellent That food in the middle of Wyoming! Small unassuming restaurant that delivers big on the food - plenty of options to satisfy everyone - delicious flavor and plentiful portions - a go to spot in Rawlins!

Jeff C.

Yelp
Small restaurant in downtown. Food was excellent t and the service was very good. Portions were such that we each had enough for another meal.

Rosa H.

Yelp
The veggie Thai dish and mango sticky rice was delicious. Service was great and workers were friendly. I would definitely recommend this place.
google avatar

Karina B.

Yelp
Had the lunch buffet! Very reasonable and absolutely delicious! Couldn't get enough of the fried bananas. I absolutely did not expect something this good in the middle of small town Wyoming.

Oscar L.

Yelp
Food was good Hispanic Waitress with an attitude ruined it Some food looked not aesthetically pleasing There was like no shrimp in the shrimp Rangoon

John M.

Yelp
Once again my wife and I left the restaurant desperately wishing that we had an equivalent Thai place in our home town. I couldn't think of any negatives about the experience-incredible food quality service and very reasonable prices. A for sure 5 star restaurant!
google avatar

Yelp
What an unexpected and incredible surprise. Authentic, delicious, reasonably priced Thai food bursting with umami in the middle of nowheresville Wyoming. Thai food typically tends to be pretty decent no matter the location, but Anong's is up there with the likes of Las Vegas and Phoenix's Thai restaurants. The best part? There was no issue catering to my gluten free, vegan diet and making my favorite dish of all time: larb prepared with tofu. I'm staying here in good old meat-loving Rawlins at a super crummy place for work and was having a difficult time relaxing, let alone finding a restaurant that could even come close to accommodating my dietary restrictions. I am so grateful I found Anong's and can not recommend this little gem enough to anyone passing through (or in town for an extended period). Honestly, I love Anong's so much I'll likely be dining here every day until I head back home to the sweltering Sonoran Desert (another 10 days!). Go check this place out. I promise you will not be disappointed! Oh, and if you can & prefer to eat with chopsticks, DO IT! The place was packed today and I was the only one there using the proper utensils for Thai food. I felt pretty legit and totally made it clear I'm not from around these parts (and I'm a-ok with that), lol!

Yelp
We are spending the night in Rawlins, WY on our way to Mt. Rushmore from Salt Lake City, UT. While walking around the downtown area, we met a nice woman who owns a gift shop in town. She asked where we were eating dinner and when we told her. She instead recommended Anong Thai Restaurant. She loves it and eats there at least once a week. We changed our plans and walked over. Everyone was so nice and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious and well priced. While waiting for our order to be taken, we were served simple bowls of soup with a little bit of rice. The flavor was fabulous. Our entrees were flavorful (not heavy) with a very nice assortment of vegetables. Rice came with our entrees. We were very satisfied until, out of curiosity, we asked to see the dessert menu. You haven't lived until you get the fried bananas with ice cream, chocolate sauce, and whipped cream with cherries on top--we shared this stunningly delicious treat.

Yelp
We were grateful to have some Thai food which meets our dietary concerns in Rawlins. I had the Pad Thai with tofu and vegetables and my husband had the Pad see ew with beef for take out. Both were pretty good but the way that the pad Thai was packed(with the mung beans mixed in) it wasn't good after the initial order.

Alane W.

Yelp
Always great Thai food and service. We especially love the basil mussels. Perfect break from the I-80 drive
google avatar

Traci M.

Yelp
Pretty good, not the best Thai I've ever had but glad they had this available in a small town. I was kinda shocked they even had Thai in the middle of Wyoming ha! Area is cute tho definitely walk around/bar hop a little if you can and finish up with some carbs to soak it all up! Ha my friend got the pad Thai, eggs rolls, and I got a curry dish with veggies.
google avatar

Rabab R.

Yelp
What is this craziness called amazing Thai food in this cute little restaurant!!! We stopped here on a road trip, and the food was perfecto. The pad Thai was perfect and the curry and soup blew my mind. For someone who eats Thai food pretty regularly - I will say that this was a pleasant surprise! Please go, you won't regret order! The service was amazing as well.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my meal at Anong's! I'm sure I'll be back. To begin with, when we sat down they brought a small bowl of some sort of rice and chicken soup. It was very tasty and a great way to start the meal! Prices are very reasonable and serving sizes are large. If you are on the road some dishes would definitely be worth sharing to avoid being stuffed or having to take leftovers with you. I got the Kee Mao and was very pleased. I ordered it with tofu but they also included chicken in it. This may have been a mistake, but could be worth watching out for the vegetarian friends out there! It was also little light on bean sprouts. Just a hint of spice, nothing extreme (I enjoy a nice kick to my food. The tofu in the Kee Mao was awesome! Very tasty, cooked, and seasoned really well. Definitely firm tofu. It held together well and had a nice texture. I also tried the summer rolls which were great. Stuffed full of good vegetables and amazing tofu. The tofu was seasoned so well. The peanut sauce that came with the summer rolls was excellent. Probably one of the better peanut sauces I have had. Someone else in my group got the Pineapple Shrimp fried rice and was very pleased. Lots of shrimp and very tasty. It was enough food for two, if not three, meals they said. The food came super fast, within 10 minutes of ordering. We were the first folks there for dinner though. When we came in at 5:00 PM we were the only people there, when we left at around 6:15 most every table was full, and it looked like there might have been a small wait for a table. The restaurant felt very clean. As of the writing of this review (Aug 2021), they are not seating parties over 8 due to staffing shortages.
google avatar

Liz A.

Yelp
Decent place for Thai food! The Masaman curry with tofu had a great flavor although I did expect there to be some vegetables in the dish. The curry was served with rice which seemed like it had been sitting out for a bit. We also got a veggie and tofu noodle dish that was great - full of veggies, tofu, and had an amazing flavor. There's not much for ambiance but the service was attentive.
google avatar

Cody C.

Yelp
Exceeded my Californian expectations. I ordered the (Pad) Kee Mow. The spicy level 3 is hotter than I expected. Summer rolls, great. We also had yellow curry and pad Thai and everyone thought it was great.
google avatar

Christine B.

Yelp
Food is always good. They make generous portions that feed me for dinner and lunch the next day. I would highly recommend.
google avatar

Katie G.

Yelp
Very good food where I was not expecting it! Got the cashew tofu and it came with tons of veggies! Service was great as well.
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
Amazingly good Thai food! Had the spicy eggplant and vegetable spring rolls. Everything was spot on.
google avatar

Lu-Shien T.

Yelp
Tuned to local taste I suspect. The massaman curry was creamer and sweeter than I am used to. The pad thai was outstanding. The appetizer was lovely. The star of the night was the boned out half duck curry. Portions were large and service awesome. Get the condiment tray to douse the dishes with pickled chilies or chili powder and all will be fine.
google avatar

Melanie B.

Yelp
I'm going to be honest. I thought this place would be regrettable. It's Thai. In Rawlins, Wyoming. It wasn't regrettable though. Not at all. It was actually quite good. I could have used more heat for sure and the curries weren't thick enough for me. Pretty thin. But as far as flavor and quality, it was far from what I anticipated. I scarfed it down and that was even from takeout containers, sitting on the hotel room floor. I ordered yellow curry, pad see yew, and Penang curry and I'd order all 3 again. Rawlins is fortunate to have such a good Thai place. I've yet to find better in the Chicago area.
google avatar

Jackie I.

Yelp
I ordered the green curry with chicken. My meal was loaded with delicious pieces of chicken that were cooked just great and the veggies were plentiful. For around $18 I got three meals out of it! And it was just as good each time. I look forward to returning to try other options on the menu.
