My favorite cafe we always come back for brunch here. The food was amazing really tasty and unique on top with the excellent service from all staff here. That’s what made us comeback here again and again ❤️

This place is truly a hidden gem in the area! The food was absolutely amazing, and the new menu is incredible. Not only was the food great, but the coffee was also top-notch. I received a warm welcome from the staff, and the overall experience was just fantastic. Highly recommend visiting!

Absolutely delicious food, and an incredible range! The menu is refreshed regularly, and we drive an hour over to enjoy the many gluten free options. Strongly recommend stopping by for a fabulous lunch and the best coffee you've ever tasted.

As a visitor from out of town, I was eager to explore local cafés and immerse myself in the community's coffee culture. Unfortunately, my visit to Anouk Cafe was marked by a series of service-related disappointments that left me questioning the establishment's commitment to customer satisfaction. Upon first passing by, I took a moment to peruse the menu displayed outside. A staff member approached and inquired if I was okay. I mentioned I was reviewing the menu, to which she acknowledged and walked away. Returning shortly thereafter, I entered the café and seated myself, anticipating a warm welcome. Regrettably, I was overlooked as staff members passed by without any acknowledgment. It was only after a nearby group kindly alerted a staff member to my presence that I was informed the café had closed. This was contrary to my earlier interaction, where no such indication was given. When I expressed my confusion, the staff member suggested I must have misunderstood. Seeking at least a modest gesture of hospitality, I requested a cold water. She promptly brought it to me but did not engage further. In a final act of professionalism, the staff directed other patrons to nearby establishments still open for coffee. This experience was disheartening, especially as a visitor unfamiliar with the area. It highlighted a lapse in communication and customer service that overshadowed any potential merits the café might have had. I hope this feedback serves as constructive insight for Anouk Cafe to enhance their customer service protocols and ensure that future patrons, regardless of their familiarity with the area, feel welcomed and valued.

First time visiting here for brunch and won't be the last time. I'll definitely need to make a stop here the next time I'm in town for a visit. I've forgotten what I ordered but will put the pictures up to share. Everything was great! Especially the coffee.

Great place! Had to wait a bit long for the food though despite early morning with very few guests. Both dishes were very tasty. Garlic Prawn & Scallop Linguini was a bit mild but very pleasant taste overall. The cherry tomatoes were excellent, super juicy and was bursting in my mouth. The other dish was Shakshuka. First time trying it but was really impressed with the flavour from the spices used. However we wish the flatbread was grilled a bit more thorough.

We had breakfast at Anouk. I ordered the shakshuka baked eggs, very tasty dish. Coffee is Merlo , flavour was good. Service spot on. Seating outside where you can sit with your dog or plenty of indoor seating available

A small Cafe on the side of Paddington Road, very strong European style with fresh greenery. It's retro and a little different, so even if you're just enjoying a cup of coffee in the sunshine, it's so cozy. I thought it would be a traditional brunch, but it's actually very Asian fusion. the Shashuka is very rich and sweet tomato with a little bit of spice, scrambled with a half-boiled egg, and then eaten with a scone dipped in the sauce. the shrimp pasta is super amazing. The shrimp spaghetti was superb, with a different flavor than the white or red Italian sauces. The menu also has creative meals like pad thai, which is still interesting. Drinks were mediocre, the bubbly drinks looked good in the photos but the syrup in them was really sweet.

Continuing our Brisbane fooding chronicles, Feren and I headed to Paddington to try out Anouk, which has been on my "want to try" list for quite a while, given its reputation. It was our first time, and upon arriving, I immediately fell in love with the place! I love their style with the framed chalkboard menu on the wall, their couches, and the laid back countryside [and somewhat rustic] ambience. Though the rustic feel is "in" and trendy right now, Anouk still had it's own simple and clean personality. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress who seated us promptly outside, which we requested in the streak of good weather. I was tempted to order a blended juice or smoothie, but knew we were heading elsewhere for dessert, so we just ordered two items. We had the Crispy Skin Duck Confit with Lychee Red Curry (23) and the Pan Fried Asparagus, Proscuitto, Roast Almonds, and Poached Duck Egg with Hollandaise (18.5). The duck was pretty amazing, as the meat was tender with a crispy skin that left me wanting more! The red curry was a perfect fit for the duck, reminding me of my love for the duck and curry noodles at Noodle Theory in Berkeley, though the cassava was an interesting fit with the curry. Either way, I enjoyed the lychee addition to the traditional curry, and would definitely recommend this new item on their menu. Our other order wasn't bad, as the asparagus was good and the proscuitto was actually one of the better ones that I've had, but it wasn't too interesting. I love poached [duck] eggs, but the hollandaise sauce, which was supposed to be horseradish (I asked), was a bit of a disappointment. The smell of it reminded us of Elmer's glue, and wasn't the most appetizing smell or texture... Overall, I was really satisfied with Anouk, especially with their effort in tweaking the classic breakfast|lunch items, and though it is a bit of a higher end cafe, I would definitely return!

I have mixed feelings after today's breakfast experience at Anouk. I visited with my husband and 7 month old. I've been to Anouk before with family on a crowded Saturday, so I thought I'd go back when it was a bit quieter. Hubby had today off work, so I thought it'd be perfect. We were greeted by a waitress and told to sit anywhere. We took a seat and I asked if they had a high chair, not entirely expecting one because of the type of establishment it makes itself out to be. What I wasn't expecting was her response. "No but there's a nice place that does breakfast across the road if you're after that type of thing. We do a nice breakfast here too". That put me off from word go. I understand it's not the kind of place that is ideal for kids but at the same time, looking around, there were a couple of kids in the cafe and my baby was being perfect today - not a peep out of her! Maybe she was trying to be polite but her wording was all wrong. I felt just saying no would have been better. . Aside from this, everything else was fantastic including the food. It's always a shame when something so small can ruin your experience. Also be aware that it is very loud in the cafe because everything bounces off the hard surfaces - the acoustics are not good!

I've been wanting to try Anouk for ages as everyone goes on about it being great. Now that I've finally had a chance to visit I'm happy to report that it lives up to its lofty rep so far. Popped in for morning coffee and quick breaky and were greeted by welcoming staff as soon as we walked in. Coffee orders taken right away and then were left for just the right amount of time to peruse menu & make decisions but not feel like we were waiting for them to come back. Coffee was great (Merlo) and food came out quickly and was lovely. Oh my the homemade jam... Partner had the special coconut porridge with grape & date molasses and citrus candied walnuts (see photo) that they said was wholly satisfying. The super friendly staff are what really made my day. Have yet to try the lunch menu but I have high hopes so will update review when I do!

I visited Paddington's lovely Anouk this morning for a casual breakfast. The public holiday seemed to slow down the masses and there wasn't the usual line out the front so we were seated straight away. The interior of the café is beautifully set out, with exposed concrete walls, a high ceiling, and glass windows at the front making the small area feel open and airy. We made it just in time to order from the breakfast menu and the service was friendly and attentive. My baked egg with creamed spinach and Gorgonzola was delicious. The spinach nicely offset the intensity of the cheese and the garlic bread that came alongside was perfect for dipping. My companion's scrambled eggs with Parmesan and pesto toast was very nice and the extra of crispy bacon was cooked to perfection. The drinks menu was a standout, with a wide range of incredible fresh fruit juices as well as teas and smoothies. My orange, peach, and ginger fruit shake was fantastic and the other juices coming out of the kitchen were spectacular-looking. A lovely café providing a great dining experience, I highly recommend Anouk for breakfast and lunch in Paddington. It gets super busy on weekends, so get there early to avoid a line.

Finally, Anouk... we danced. We danced, and it was okay, I guess. Here's the thing. I'd love to try Anouk's breakfast menu, but they don't believe in all-day breakfasts, and that means I'll probably never get to try their breakfast menu, because I don't believe in rushing to a place before I'm ready on a weekend. Especially if I've not had a coffee. Lunch is my least favourite meal of the day because it never knows if it wants to be breakfast or dinner. I had some tasty Asian duck pancake things but it wasn't a lot of food for almost $20, and I had food envy looking at my lunch buddy's salad. The coffee was good, the service was brief but nice, the decor is Frenchy chic. Happy to tick Anouk off the list and keep going (unless I happen to wake up in time for the breakfast menu, I guess).

Anouk is hands-down my favourite place to have breakfast, brunch and/or lunch in Brisbane. If any of my friends say "let's go somewhere to eat", I always say "Anouk?". They change their menu so frequently which means you can go back for a number of weeks to get your most-loved dish and then discover a brand new one. I never get bored. Their breakfast menu is so diverse, I challenge any other place in Brisbane to even come close. Grilled whiting, harissa spiced breakfast mince, prosciutto, haloumi, cinnamon apple fritters, crabmeat omelettes and marscapone are all frequent on the brekkie menus, while coriander salsa, spaghettini with octopus, Thai duck salad and salt and pepper prawns with mango chilli add to the lunch menus. My man friend often says that the chef at Anouk must be one of the most talented men in the city - the flavours and textures he comes up with are so astonishing that eating at Anouk always turns into an experience. Even Arby and Cedric, two of my favourites to take out for brunch, adore Anouk. Cedric loves the coffee (it's Merlo but we won't hold that against them) and Arby will order a smoothie from their deluxe drinks menu without fail. Breakfast and lunch mains will set you back about $17 on average but it is TOTALLY worth it. Every time I have a relative or friend visit, I make a journey to Anouk to show it off. So far, I've taken Gramps and Mum from the UK and my darling BF from Sydney and all are suitably impressed. I always love the extravagant and innovative menu, the stunning decor and furnishings, the super warm attitude of the staff and the always pleasing musical soundtrack. Anouk is the real deal - I almost don't want to tell you about it because the line-up at the weekends is already getting ridiculous. A special shout-out to the cute blonde manager Angela who always makes us feel so welcome. A place this good could easily get away with being pretentious and stuck-up, but the beauty of Anouk lies not only in its unique menu but in the warmth of its staff. Want to grab something to eat? Anouk.

Big fan. Definitely rate it. Quirky, soft seats along the wall - decent breaky and the coffee - hardcore original and lots of stylin local brisbanites love this place. Go on your own or with a crew - it's totally comfy. The owner also started up the gunshop and the abc cafe and is a hoot Good vibration

I went to Anouk with a friend for lunch today. It was my first time there and I was very impressed with the decor, the service and the food. The meal options were quite varied and a little left of the norm, which made for a pleasant surprise. We both ordered the lunch special which was mushroom, lentils and spinach topped with a perfectly poached egg and a side of sourdough all for $16.50. It was pleasantly filling and very tasty. I'm not often over in Paddington, but I'd happily make the trek to try more of their dishes :)

There seems to be a complex way of seating different sized groups as when we arrived and the cafe was half empty, we were told that there would be "no chance" of seating a table of 6 and that they "wouldn't do us justice" if they allowed us to sit at the empty tables. After a 15 minute wait we were seated, service was OK after that. The menu advised that they cater to "all dietary requirements, just ask" (not true as I was told that the only option for me was a "vegan special") I ordered the vegan special (salty quinoa, spinach and mushrooms with tomato) which appeared to be cooked by a 2year old Junior Masterchef. Despite me specifically asking for 2 pieces of toast, I was presented with the oldest trick in the book: 1 piece cut in half. When I asked where the other bit was, I was told that what I had was two pieces. Off to get my eyes tested and something else to eat.

Check the date on the reviews before going to Anouk. Went to Anouk yesterday for lunch. What used to be a place full of patrons with 'spillage' on to the footpath was a bit of a ghost town at noon on a Saturday. I have no idea what Anouk used to be like, but our experience yesterday was awful. The food was on par with a suburban pub yet priced as if it were fine dining -- cheap cuts of steak (no steak knife made it nearly impossible to eat), dry chicken, a 'green salad' sprinkled with tinned corn kernels (although no mention of the corn on the menu for those allergic) and a salad dressing that was too salty to eat (thankfully, we had it on the side). We overheard a woman across from us complain about her over salted food, as well. Lunch came to $60 with only sparkling water as our beverage. I don't Yelp often, but I just had to warn others. This place is a ripoff. Fire the chef and start over.

Very nice breakfast with great service. The meals were only a little lacklustre, with the sourdough being exceptionally difficult to cut through on the rickety table outside. Maybe ensure your tables are levelled so customers don't spill their coffee trying to cut their food? Other than that that this place is pretty great, I just wish it didn't feel so pompous but I guess that's the area.

Breakfast or Brunch? If you haven't tried Anouk you need to now...But make sure you get in early because this is a haunt for half of Brisbane. If I ask someone where is your favourite place for Brunch nine times out of ten they mention Anouk as number one if not, it always falls into the top three and for good reason. I went into this place 4 times in the first week it opened and that wasn't enough, I have now over done it, I have recently needed to convince myself that I am not an Anouk addict and now I only go here once in a while. It is possible to resist coming back to this place week after week but it takes a fair bit of will power. They just do things differently here, they dare to be creative within this category and I think thats as risky as it is difficult. The flavours are always perfectly balanced although you may not see it on first glance it just works. Perfectly priced and perfectly portioned you have to restrain yourself from ordering more than one item for yourself alone. My only gripe and this is in no way a deal breaker, and more a reflection of my sleeping habits is that they only serve breakfast until 11:30 week days and 12:30 on the weekends (clearly this wouldn't effect most people). I think if their breakfast options weren't so clever I wouldn't mind but so many of them would suit me for lunch or even afternoon tea if that were an option. Try the smashed bubble and squeak if you are feeling a bit dusty or the wrapped sardines if you are feeling a bit of decadence is in order.

Service is very good. Food is delicious (don't order the anchovies - not fresh), we ordered 5 dishes and one was a fail. Food portions are small compared to the price; we left the table still hungry. The toilets are the biggest concern; it's down right filthy.

Had breakfast here today and it was delicious. Potato and courgette rosti with corn and tomato salsa was yummy, but a little bit too deep fried. The mushroom tapenade with dried tomato and feta on sourdough also yum, but not amazing. Fruit frappe made my morning - icey raspberry, mint and pineapple heaven! Service was attentive and friendly, in a nicely busy but not hectic atmosphere. Watch your drinks though - they're keen to clean up and my coveted last gulp of frappe was whipped away before I could stop it. Sad face. Great coffee!!! Will definitely be back!

Had breakfast here on a Sunday morning with 3 other friends. Service was excellent, food was amazing! Two had the Big Boss and loved it, I had the croissant French toast - sweet and delicious. One of the best piccolo coffees I've had too. Definitely recommend, but get in early as it gets busy!

Paddington is sometimes hit and miss, inconsistent on any given day, but it was fantastic to have a hit on my experience @ Anouk now the names translate to Anna in many languages but am not sure in this case. The fit out like many in this area is simple, exposed brick walls, simple seating and excellent use of character times make it inviting and friendly. Tables are scattered with business people, singles, mothers and TV media types without makeup and showing a normality and vulnerability we all share in life. Upon arrival service is great, friendly old style like you are a welcome back visitor, so many times lacking in today's operators, seated I am supplied with the menu, and to my surprise, not the usual suspects, a menu of innovation, yet still supplying the name of which the booming breakfast trade is founded on. A range to yoghurt infused smoothies, juices and such appeal, I choose, honey, banana, cinnamon all driven by my belief of potassium being a wonderful need to enrich the body. It arrives quickly as I peruse the menu, I choose to one pan grill of cherry tomatoes , chorizo, potato and a combination of which appeals greatly. Others that look great the muesli, the French toast done their way appeals with intrigue. The coffee is flowing, chatting with staff a delight banter about hangovers , life all things midweek., my plate of loveliness arrives, puffed up Kipfler potatoes, cooked with just enough peppery olive oil pure to taste, softened cherry tomatoes, just with a soft centre as oven dried should be, my sourdough plentiful and my poached egg, as my blades plunges the lava inside prevails, seasoned well this dish is simple, elegant and worth the trip. The cake display on paying my bill beckons, house made muffins, carrot cake and scones their way, upon paying the bill, the service the same as if saying goodbye to a friend after a leisurely Sunday with friends. Have a crack at this one Trendsetters, it rocks !!!

I was really disappointed urban list said Anouk had the best eggs benny in Paddington. I got the eggs your way poached, with hollandaise sauce, sourdough and extra house gravlax (smoked salmon). It was ok but was tiny!!! Hardly any hollandaise or gravlax and it was $19?? I was so hungry afterwards

I have eaten at Anouk many times and loved the breakfasts. Today I ordered the Shitake mushroom omelette. The omelette was dry, cold and just swimming in oyster sauce. The whole dish lacked any real flavour and was inedible voyed by 3 people at the table. Im sorry for the bad review guys but the worst breakfast Ive had for a very long time. Good coffee though.

Good coffee with a decent breakfast menu. I had the eggs & turkish toast which comes with grilled tomatoes and hollandaise sauce. Friendly and efficient service.

It was busy, which was encouraging for us, but the poached eggs were way overdone, coffee a little lukewarm and generally stingy with the sauces. Disappointing for both of us really.

I've been to Anouk numerous times before and absolutely loved it, but today I was thoroughly disappointed. My friend and I ordered the croissant french toast and for $16 we each received one dry croissant with two slices of orange and some mascarpone. Upon paying I mentioned to a staff member that the meal was ridiculously small for the price and instead of apologising she was incredibly unpleasant and condescending. She took $5 off the $41.00 bill which saved us from paying for one of our very bitter coffees. I won't be returning.

Anouk continues to deliver food with panache. It is reliable and a safe place to take interstate visitors without any cringe factor. Service is always pleasant and efficient. The food shows understanding of ingredients. Only downside is that it can be noisy when full. Problematic for this oldie and similarly afflicted companions.

I've been to Anouk on several occasions. Culminating in two key findings - the food is good but, the service is not. I can not emphasize how bad the staff, and by extension the service is. It is literally the worst service in the café capital of Australia (Brisbane having more cafés per capita than any other Australian city). The staff seem - excuse the tern of phrase - hell bent on ruining dining experience, after dining experience. Do not expect accommodation. Rather, expect the table service to be tragically bad: your order will be taken in a manner more fitted to the context of a truck stop, your order will be recorded incorrectly, you will have drinks spilt on you, your table, or around you by the staff (I've witnessed this on three occasions), but there's more, the dink may not have been one you ordered, rather one randomly and haphazardly unloaded on you by will of the staff alone, and finally when all is said and done, before you've even put your cutlery down you will be asked to settle the bill and leave, because they "want to seat other customers." However, you'll feel like you're settling a bill with a mistress in some grungy back ally, and you'll be treated like a filthy 'john' - not like a paying customer. By all means, if you like being treated like nothing more than cattle at a feeding lot join the queue. However, I'll be over the road at Kettle & Tin being treated like a valuable customer.
