33 Trips You Should Book a Year in Advance | Condé Nast Traveler

"I find Antarctic cruises increasingly popular but competitive: more operators and higher-end vessels exist now, yet the lowest-price cabins, premium cabins, and single-occupancy cabins sell out fastest, so planning early and working with a specialist will help you tailor the right itinerary." - Charlie Hobbs, Jasmine Ting

So very grateful to Antarctica Cruises for helping me realise one of my biggest dreams in life and finally visiting the last of the 7 continents of the world I needed to visit. Joel who helped me all the way was incredible! So helpful, friendly and courteous! The company were brilliant! Only thing I’d say is that other companies allow you to rent out free gear (coats, gloves, hats, waterproof leggings) which Antarctica cruises didn’t. But I had my own so wasn’t too big a deal. Just would have meant more room in my backpack for the journey. Other than I genuinely can’t complain! Thank you so much!

Everything went really smoothly from start to finish, from our arrival in Argentina to the transfers to Ushuaia and throughout the voyage. The service was excellent at every point, and Antarctica was absolutely beautiful. All activities were well coordinated, and the wildlife was incredible to see this time of year (December). The HX staff and expedition team were extremely helpful, and the crew were warm and hospitable. We were pleasantly surprised to find that many of them were Filipino. The entire trip was very well organized and required minimal effort on our part, aside from presenting a few documents and signing up for optional activities, everything was taken care of. There was only one minor inconvenience during the transfer back from Ushuaia, as the bus arrived late and our names were not initially on the list, which caused a short delay returning to the hotel. However, this was a small issue in an otherwise excellent experience. A special thank you to Joel, our agent, who was incredibly accommodating and made the entire process easy and stress-free. He was very prompt, quick to respond, and consistently provided helpful options based on the information we shared. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience, and we would highly recommend both HX and Joel to anyone planning an Antarctica trip.

We went on a cruise to Antarctica in December 2024 and had an experience of a life time. We got to see breathtaking views, encounter many wild animals especially penguins, and enjoy luxurious days filled with exceptional services and delicious food. We truly recommend this trip to anyone interested. Last but not least, we would like to extend special thanks to Joel, our contact at Antarctica cruises, who made this wonderful adventure possible. He has been extremely helpful and supportive ever since the first time we contacted to ask about different cruise options. Thank you Joel and the entire Antarctica cruises team for this unforgettable experience.

FANTASTIC company! I was trying to book with another company to get the best price, but they were playing games with me and responding to me about half the time. Antarctica Cruises was straight to the point and gave me THE BEST price without making me jump through hoops to price match. I was on the M/V Ushuaia during Christmastime and it was just magical. Antarctica Cruises even helped me book winter gear rental which saved me! Definitely would recommend!!

We embarked on an Antarctic cruise in February 2025, with the amazing support of Joel, who coordinated every detail perfectly and handled all our questions with QUARK, who in turn organized the expedition wonderfully. Antarctica is breathtaking—an indescribable experience. It feels like traveling to another planet. The landscapes and wildlife are astonishing (we were incredibly lucky—not only did we see penguins and seals, but we also sailed daily alongside numerous blue whales). I highly recommend the **QUARK** team—the ship is outstanding, offering the quality of a luxury hotel with excellent service and Michelin-level food. The professional staff are true experts, delivering the experience in a powerful, enjoyable, and deeply human way. And of course, I must again mention **Joel from Antarctica Cruises**, who was there with us every step of the way—through all the planning, forms, and countless questions—always patient and fully supportive.

Antarctica Cruises was a huge help as I planned my trip. Gavin found options that fit my interests and budget, and he went above and beyond to hold a spot for me when I needed more time before booking. He also communicated all information from the tour operator in a timely manner and made sure I kept on top of deadlines.

Do not recommend. A travel agency liaising with cruise operators that does not seem to be in touch with cruises operators. Reserved a spot on 7 November for an Antarctica cruise departing on 27 November. The ship for my planned Antarctica Cruise was spoilt on 10 November leading the ship operator to cancel the voyage departing on 13 November, but Antarctica Cruises was not aware as there were no clients onboard(?). Made payment on 15 November without knowing these details and a material possibility (at that time) of my voyage being implicated. Apparently, Antarctica Cruises was only aware of the cancelled voyage and problems with the ship on 18 November when the ship operator sent them an email… In addition, Antarctica Cruises conveyed wrong information of Wifi charges - a rather common and simple question to check with the ship operator in my opinion. Corresponded with Gareth Evans.

The Antarctica trip truly exceeded our expectations! The ship and crew deserve more than five stars for their excellence and devotion to their guests happiness. They did everything in their power to deliver 110% of what they promised in the adverts. As advertised, the landings were subject to weather restrictions, but for every one that we couldn’t do because of weather they substituted another of equal or better value, so mission accomplished! One time, we were stopped from traveling to a landing site because the channel was blocked by icebergs, so they took us to another site where they did their first landing on floating sea ice. Awesome! They always did an incredible job of adjusting and overcoming obstacles. And the Drake Passage was calm both ways – bonus! It was all so marvelous that it’s hard to pick only one highlight, but for me it was the beautiful icy landscapes everywhere we went, including waking up to glaciers or icebergs out our balcony window when we woke up in the morning. Amazing!
