We spent 8 days in July and count our stay among our most beautiful holidays. The rooms located in the stone houses are spacious, very well equipped and extremely clean. The hosts, Gorge and Mina take extremely warm care of the guests and devote a huge amount of time to them. They inform you in detail about all the places worth visiting in Mani. Mina and Gorge speak excellent English, are in love with the beautiful Mani region and try to pass on their love for the history and beauty of the area. Mina takes care of her guests by taking care of the smallest details: she welcomed us with strawberries from the garden, a wonderful yeast cake and sourdough bread. We highly recommend a stay at Antares Mani to everyone.

Antares is owned and managed by people who are dedicated to the Mani heritage, both physical and cultural. From Day 1 all our questions about where to explore, what roads to take, what foods to try, were all answered with patient enthusiasm. I won’t even have space to go into how beautifully cared for are the Antares rooms and grounds, to elaborate on all the little unexpected details that delighted us such as finding tastes of local specialties and lavender left on our dining table and the healing tea Mina prepared for us when my husband’s knee acted up. The warmth and kindness of our hosts was overwhelming and has stayed with us upon our return. Antares represents the best of Mani. May they both continue to thrive with their successful alternative to mass tourism.

The Antares Team in Mani set a whole new standard in authentic Greek luxury hospitality. We were delighted we choose to stay there for 3 days. One particular aspect we would like to highlight as the epitome of tranquility during our stay was the breakfast experience. The hosting team Ms Mina, Mr George, Mr Nikos and the rest of the staff created a pampering relaxing atmosphere. The earth surroundings embodied Mani in its purest and finest form. All that being topped up with meticulously handpicked food ingredients from their own little garden and some neighbourhood farms. Not to mention the aim for full sustainability in all aspects of the hospitality process. Simply the best we could hope for and a fine example of authentic Greek hospitality. Thank you for relaxing our minds

What a marvelous place. Extremely clean and well kempt. Wonderful fresh breakfast made with love out of local organic products (including the best yogurt I’ve ever tasted). Mina, George and the rest of the staff are wonderful people, always around to give recommendations and help out, or just have a nice chat. They have a huge love for the Mani region and a passion for its preservation, and their personal recommendations for places to visit and eat were all spectacular. We are so happy to have stumbled upon this gem of a place and have such special and warm memories from here. Thank you, Antares! We hope to be back soon.

From the moment of our last minute late night arrival to Antares we could tell this was going to be an incredible hotel stay and we were not disappointed. The hotel is gorgeous - the rooms, the landscaping, the food! The photos do not do it justice. Even more impressive was the hospitality which is among the best we have received at any hotel anywhere. The team's passion for the Mani is contagious and we received an incredible insider's guide to the region that has definitely left us planning for a future trip. If you're headed to the Mani look no further!

This past weekend we got a taste of perfection! The hotel: Beautifully restored stone masonry buildings-craftsmanship paying attention to every last detail; terraces on multiple levels, each with its own character—views to the sea, the mountains, or the garden. Secluded, shady corners to enjoy in peace; a nicely-appointed garden growing local herbs and vegetables. Spacious, bright, quiet, cool, meticulously manicured rooms provide shelter after a day under the hot sun on the beach or exploring the beautiful inland villages. We enjoyed the balcony, especially at night when we could enjoy the starlit sky, listening to the crickets and feeling the light, cool breeze. ||The staff: We can’t say enough about the friendly staff who worked very hard to tend to our every need: they kept the place in an immaculate state, they served us a multi-course, exquisite breakfast, that in all my years of travel I have never experienced before–it took us a couple of relaxed hours to finish it! Needless to say, we did not need to eat much more the rest of the day! Yorgos gave us a detailed account (documented with pictures) of every destination we should visit, out-of-the-way churches, historic villages, beaches, vistas, places worth hiking, places to eat. It was plenty evident that owners and staff love what they do, which translates to a uniquely enjoyable relaxing experience for their guests. We wish them great success in their efforts!

The excellence of this hotel can be traced directly back to the principals, who restored a ruined Mani tower complex for this purpose, and who manage it lovingly to help visitors appreciate the magic of this very special place in the world.  The achievement of the restoration cannot be overstated. Every stone, every surface, every detail, every angle was considered and selected to highlight the aesthetics of Mani architecture without creating the hardships for visitors that the old Maniates would have endured.  It is a delight to behold and a rare pleasure to occupy. The wonder of the physical structure is extended and enhanced by the operation of the hotel. The staff is unfailingly polite, friendly, and helpful. The furnishings and fittings are of very high quality and accentuate the simple beauty of the structure.  The sumptuous breakfasts are as much experiences as meals, featuring traditional Mani foods in creative, if not unique, preparations. But perhaps most impressive about Antares is its dedication to the miracle that is Mani. Guests are given expert advice on the best of the many beaches, ancient sites to explore, the extraordinary churches, hiking and snorkeling opportunities, highlights of the landscape, local wildlife, etc.  They are happy to suggest day-long itineraries, complete with marked-up maps, and cafe and taverna suggestions, backed by local knowledge and informed by affection and respect for the place. If you want to learn what the Mani is all about, this is your hotel.
