We loved so many parts of our New Orleans vacation but the highlight of the entire trip was, without a doubt, staying at the Antebellum House. Imagine waking up each morning in a gorgeous house built in the 1800’s, decorated in artfully designed antiques. And then making your way to the stunning dining room where classical music is softly playing and being served an incredible three-course breakfast that is not only delicious but also the foods that would have been served in a home like this over a hundred years ago. I am pretty particular when it comes to food quality and flavor and I was blown away by how much I loved every breakfast dish that Keith served. Keith is the most fantastic host. We looked forward to getting to talk to him each day, his love for the house, the foods prepared for us and the City of New Orleans is so apparent, it makes the experience even more meaningful. I would come back to New Orleans just to stay here again. I want to spend more time sitting in the main parlor and out in the garden, just reading and enjoying the beautiful atmosphere that Keith has created. This is so much more than just a place to stay, it is a treasured experience that we will be talking about for years to come.

I am a repeat visitor to the Antebellum Guest House and with each trip I am charmed anew.|The house has been carefully and authentically restored and maintained by the owners, Keith and Art. It is a wonderful way to explore the rich history of the area. Located walking distance from the French Quarter and Frenchmen Street, the house sits on a quiet section of Esplande.|The New Orleans Jazz Museum is a brief stroll away as is the New Orleans Historic Society.|Of course there are a myriad of excellent restaurants nearby, but the highlight of each trip has been the 3 course antebellum breakfasts that Keith serves each morning. Sitting under the dining room chandelier and looking at the beautiful table settings, one slips into a more elegant and leisurely time. The breakfasts ,which are available only when one books directly, are without question ,the most memorable NOLA meals I have had.|I can only suggest a visit to the Antebellum to experience another piece of New Orleans.

I have had the honor of being invited on several occasions. KEITH, the major Domo has always provided Excellent care. his. Desserts are always a showstopper. I am a vegetarian, and he has always been able to accommodate me. It is a true blessing that I can call him a friend after many years of association.

The house is a lovely 1830s home a ten minute walk from Frenchmen street and the quarter. Decorated with many antiques and family heirlooms. There is a bit of faded elegance to much of it, but that’s part of the old world charm. There is lovely private patio with a hot tub. Keith is a lovely host, warm and welcoming, who has I think that old world elegance that befits the house. His breakfasts are not only delicious but interesting as he introduces historic recipes into the mix. He is also knowledgeable about New Orleans from years living there and conversing with him over breakfast (if he isn’t too busy serving) can give you a unique perspective of the evolution of the city. The personal touches, historic charm, patio, breakfast, and location make this a great place to stay to see New Orleans.

Eclectic and absolutely top-notch accommodations and hospitality. Magnificent and delicious breakfasts, extremely comfortable rooms, but the best part of this place is the outstandingly friendly and warm hosts, Kieth and Art. We will truly miss them and consider them to be our new best friends in New Orleans. We can’t wait to stay here with them again.

This place was INCREDIBLE! Truly like stepping back in time into an amazing piece of New Orleans history. Keith was a fantastic host, told us all about the history of the house and the area. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Would 100% stay here again next time we’re in New Orleans.

Had a great time here! Was a perfect location on a very safe street, close enough to walk to everywhere. Keith was so friendly and the breakfast was interesting and delicious! The back garden was so relaxing and the hot tub a nice way to wind down the day! Would definitely recommend for a cool historic stay in New Orleans!

We ended up staying here in late 2018 for our honeymoon. So needless to say, I’m way behind on leaving this review. Keith and Art were amazing hosts. Keith has a wealth of knowledge which made the trip super enlightening and enjoyable. He always had great recommendations on things to do and places to eat in and around New Orleans. I would have to say that our favorite part was the breakfast Keith would get up early to make each day. Absolutely fantastic and 10/10 would recommend this place to everyone. We hope to go back in the future to visit once again.

Yelp
Like stepping back into 19th century New Orleans... your helpful host Keith presents a 3 course breakfast every morning with dishes from old recipes. Keith made us 1830s creole eggs (amazing!), and a boudin that was to die for with perfect poached eggs (he has chef level culinary skills)... along with the hot tub in a quiet and private back yard, this place is a real gem. Quiet at night too, but close enough to walk to the action. As huge foodies, we will be back, if only because a 3 night stay wasn't long enough to sample all the dishes he can make.

Yelp
The Antebellum Guest House is a hidden gem in New Orleans.I am writing this after my third visit and this stay was as wonderful as the previous two. The B&B is a historic antebellum home that has been painstakingly and lovingly restored by the owners. When entering the house one steps back in time and experiences the rich history of the area. The Antebellum Guest House is walking distance from the French Quarter and Frenchmen Street and yet, sitting in the beautiful back yard listening to the wind chimes and watching the Spanish moss sway in the breeze, you could be in a different century. The rooms are extremely clean, quiet and have very comfortable beds. It is the breakfasts, however, that will leave the biggest impression. Keith prepares a 3 course meal made from original Antebellum recipes and served on authentic china. Probably the best food I have had in New Orleans! All this is to say that for those looking for a different type of stay in New Orleans , you won't go wrong staying here! I am already anticipating my next visit.

Yelp
I couldn't speak highly enough of this incredible establishment. My wife and I have both been to New Orleans once before and the experience of staying in a Hotel pales in comparison to being hosted by the Antebellum Guest House. The proprietors Keith and Art love what they do, and it shows. They keep a beautifully appointed home that makes you feel like you're stepping into a time capsule from the 1830's. The guest rooms and common areas are filled with restored antiques, art, and vintage curiosities. As for our guest room, The Rococo Room, the photos that I saw online could not do it justice. It's a high ceilinged chamber with a grand bed that has a crown that stretches up high above it. It's quite impressive looking and rather comfortable. There is a small restroom area with a toilet and shower, as well as a large sink/makeup area out in the main room, partially concealed by a stylish room divider. There is a small television in the room, but we had our computers, and we didn't have much down time to watch it anyway. The hot breakfasts are prepared and served by Keith, who welcomes you at a pre-arranged time in the main dining room. The meals he prepared during our stay were inspired (historic) 3-course creations, consisting of a fruit course, a pastry course, and a main entree. He does take dietary restrictions into consideration and adjusts the recipes where possible, so you should let him know if you have specific needs. Overall, he aims to create a historic experience with specific regional dishes from New Orleans' flavorful past. The meals are incredibly crafted, both beautiful and delightful to the palette. While we were dining, Keith explained to us the history of the home and the local area. There are some incredible stories that he has to share, but I would rather not give them away here, you will have to stay there to find out! In addition, he is very knowledgeable about the local attractions and tours, and is able to offer some excellent suggestions to make your visit more enjoyable. One particular decision where he offered us helpful advice was in deciding which plantation we should visit. He was very familiar with several of the properties, and was able to figure out which would be best suited for us, based on what we were looking to see. The location, which is several blocks away from the French Quarter, felt safe, and far enough away from the hustle and bustle for our tastes. It was a brisk walk or a very short cab ride to the Quarter, and easy access to the freeway and main avenues. Couple the impeccable service and attention, with the flavor and flair of this home, and you will understand why we believe that staying at Antebellum is a far better option than a hotel. We already have begun to recommend staying here to our family and friends, and will certainly be coming back in the future. In our opinion, staying at this establishment is the best possible way to immerse yourself in a true New Orleans experience!

Yelp
Hands down Best Magical Guest House in New Orleans! Had a wonderful experience in this beautiful home with lots of historical details. Made us feel as we were stepping back in time (1800's). Everything had a story to it. Owner Keith was a great host, and full of knowledge. His breakfast was the highlight of the day. Made us feel very comfortable and went beyond to save us some cash. Best mattress I've ever slept on in any trip!!! The room was well maintain and very comfortable. The courtyard is amazing with a hot-tub to relax. This trip was memorable thanks to Keith and his partner Art's hospitality. I am definitely making this amazing house my stay every time I get a chance to visit NOLA! Excited to go back and I just got home last night. Lol BTW in a great location. Keith thank you once again. :) Xx

Yelp
Rooms we're clean and period perfect. Breakfast was "out of this world!" Keith was the perfect host preparing period breakfasts from old family recipes. The antiques were splendid and the home is In a great location, convenient to the French Quarter.

Yelp
We stayed the weekend at the Antebellum Guest house and had the most amazing time! The house is right in the French Quarter and is absolutely gorgeous! Owners Keith and Art are fantastic hosts. Full of knowledge and very hospitable. We came here on a recommendation from family that had stayed here in the past and we were not disappointed! Keith is super nice and always had a great recommendation for dinner and drinks any one that we asked. Now for the breakfast... Make sure you book directly through their website and NOT on Air B&B so you can get the full experience. I don't know what kind of magic is going on in the kitchen but Keith makes the most amazing breakfast! I kid you not when I say that this was probably the best breakfast the wife and I have ever had. We will definitely will be coming back, we are already planning to book again in a few months. Thank you Keith and Art for an amazing time!
