Antelope Canyon is an absolutely stunning spot, with its vibrant red walls and rays of light cutting through the dusty atmosphere. Located in Page, Arizona, it includes both Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon, both of which sit on Navajo land and require a guided tour to explore. We opted for the Lower Antelope Canyon, which has a cool “V” shape.
The bottom of the canyon is pretty narrow, while the top opens up wide, giving it a brighter and warmer vibe compared to the upper section. A lot of folks think Lower Antelope Canyon is more exciting, thanks to its tight passageways and the ladders you get to climb. Walking through the twisting walls is a blast, and sometimes you can even slide through the narrow spots.
This canyon is also known for its ladders. You’ll start your descent with a series of them, and as you wander through, you’ll encounter several more. People tend to have strong opinions about them—some love them, some not so much. I personally enjoyed the experience; it really made me appreciate just how deep these canyons are.
Since it can get pretty busy, it’s a good idea to book your tour ahead of time. We went in the last week of April when the weather was nice, making the hike to the canyon quite pleasant. All in all, this is definitely a must-visit place, and I had a fantastic time!
