This is one of the best places to eat in Plattsburgh. Great seasonal food, excellent service and a really cool atmosphere. The waitstaff are too notch. I don’t think we even had a chance to wait for anything. It was already taken care of by the time we thought of it. Do the handmade ice cream for dessert. You will not be disappointed. Lots of menu choices, great wine and beer selection too. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place in Plattsburgh to eat. It’s more expensive than other spots but 100% worth it.

Had the crab cake and lobster bisque appy. We had the scallops and shrimp over a puffed pastry. Everything was absolutely delicious and service by Debra was outstanding. Highly recommend.

Amazing! Delicious meals, wonderful service, it's a great place to celebrate a special occasion or just have a gourmet meal. Would highly recommend!

We came here for a graduation celebration with a party of 14. They were so gracious and even opened early for us. Ethan, our server, was top notch. All the staff there was wonderful. The food was amazing. I highly recommend their homemade ice cream! Don’t skip dessert! Thank you for a lovely evening.

Google
I don’t give 5 stars on all very often but this place deserves it! Our server was Anthony (hard to forget since in the name of the restaurant) he was able to give us options on what wine pairs well with our dinner selection. He was there when needed and perfect etiquette when clearing the table or serving our wine. The atmosphere was quaint and we felt relaxed. Now for the food… what flavor!! We did not see the Chef but we did want to complement him on freshness of the food and original flavors to the area. We ordered an appetizer, dinner and dessert because we wanted to keep going!! We had duck egg roll to start with and it had a sauce with it that was lightly sweetened to balance the flavors. I can go on and on but honestly if you are looking for a gourmet meal close to home check this place out! For the quality of the food the price matched up. Hidden Gem, so glad we found this place we will be back!

Google
One of the best restaurants anywhere. An every evolving menu that caters to a wide array of tastes. My favorite is the jumbo shrimp and scallops risotto. The crab cake appetizer is rich and one of the best I have ever had. If in the area make sure to make time to visit. Anthonys is worth the drive.. you will leave telling your friends and family about it.

My wife and I were touring the area for our 25th Anniversary, and we wanted a very nice place to dine. Anthony’s was the place that we chose, due to highest and best ratings while searching online. Reservations were required, which we made, and we were seated right away. This place is very quaint as it is an old farm house, and was beautifully decorated. The hostess filled our water glasses and brought us bread and butter which was very good. We were met by our waitress Ali, who was very sweet and very professional. My wife ordered the house salad ($7.95) and the Tournedos special ($43.95) which was two 4 oz filets, one with béarnaise sauce and one with demi-glace sauce, it came with broccoli, mashed potatoes and mashed sweet potatoes. She absolutely loved it and said it was prepared to perfection! I ordered the Caesar salad ($12.95) and Chicken Breast Parmesan with pasta ($23.95), it was delicious! We topped off the our dinner celebration with a slice of Chocolate Mousse Cake ($11.95) which was also delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and our waitress “Ali” was absolutely perfect!

Google
What an amazing dinner we had here last week when we were visiting Plattsburgh. We even met the chef and chatted about his background and the history of the restaurant. The Duck spring roll appetizer was especially good.

Yelp
This place did not disappoint! From the food, to the service, the ambience and finally the artwork. Let's start with the outside was the cutest and just draws you into the spot. Once seated we were approached immediately and I ordered an Arnold Palmer and it was fantastic to see this wasn't the south. My appetizer was the lobster bisque with the drizzled sherry and my picture does nothing to convey the party that started in my mouth and continued when my entree arrived. Shrimp and lump blue crab salad which didn't disappoint. I honestly could go for one right now. This place was a true vibe and the atmosphere was so inviting. This place is a must visit on your list if you are in Plattsburgh or even close to Plattsburgh. Great picture location. We snapped a few beautiful pictures

Yelp
Disappointing experience last evening with friends. Bill was $100 per person, so expectations were for good service and fine food. Service was terrible. Waiter seemed not to know proper order of meeting our needs. We ordered drinks which did not come until our first courses had been before us several minutes. Our entrees came to table, yet we had no utensils. And after asking, we still did not receive forks and knives for several minutes. We ordered a second glass of wine which was not delivered timely and then when dessert was before us we again had no utensils. Cold espresso was delivered to one diner as well. Food was uneven. Scallops were wet pack meaning flaccid and bloated by salt water. They were unpleasant. Husband ordered seafood risotto which also contained the dreaded scallops. Had we not been with friends, I would have returned my plate. Several appetizers were quite good including the quinoa cake, lobster bisque and tuna tataki. Desserts please all of us; my maple layer cake was delicious. Ambiance is fine, but we could not relax as we were dealing with service delays and cool espresso. We probably won't return as this experience made for a meh evening.

Yelp
Anthony's is a must while visiting Plattsburgh. I am up from Atlanta visiting my boyfriend often and this is outlet date night place. The ambiance is charming and the service is always impeccable. We ate there a week ago and I forgot our servers name. But he was super friendly and did an awesome job that evening. He is young, tall, dark hair and wore diamond studs. Sorry I don't have his name because I highly recommend him. In regards to the cuisine, Anthony's makes THE BEST French Onion soup in the world!! It is a menu staple and we both always begin our meals with a bowl of that yummy magic. I also ordered the grilled chicken breast salad, and asked if I could change it to a filet and our server and the chef accommodated my request. Their house made Dijon vinaigrette was the perfect complement to dress the salad. Looking forward to my next visit to Anthony's.

Yelp
Lovely place, friendly service and nice choices. Filet mignon and French onion soup especially good! Perfect size portions.

Yelp
Service top notch Cocktails were good, would have preferred luxardo cherry over the bright red one Lobster bisque was good but could have been warmer Duck was good but could have been warmer Two experiences bistro and dinning room. We enjoyed the dinning room Pleasantly surprised, a real gem in this boarder town.

Yelp
Amazing food. Large portions. Chicken Parm was legit. The crab cake is one of the best I've ever had.

Yelp
Dinner here on a Thursday night in the Bistro section was nice. We arrived about ten minutes early but was seated right away. Had a Manhattan and I ordered a vodka with a splash of Limoncello, martini style. I think they forgot the splash but did have a lemon peel in it. The Manhattan could have used a Luxardo cherry instead of a maraschino one. My husband and I decided to order a few appys to share and chose the grilled calamari, crab cake and duck leg confit salad. I would get the crab cake and duck salad again but probably not the grilled calamari. It wasn't bad but not great. Service was attentive. Atmosphere was very casual and warm. We even started a conversation with another couple next to us and found we had a lot in common. Overall a nice bistro and would probably come back again when in the area.

Yelp
When traveling to Plattsburgh, *this* is the food I look forward to the most. The restaurant offers a more casual bistro side and the formal dining side for both lunch and dinner. You can order from either menu at either side. My favorites include the shrimp and scallop risotto and (hands down fav) the salmon with lobster salsa. The service is a little slower at lunch than dinner, but the food on both sides is delicious. Pro-Tip: Call ahead both for reservations and to ensure they're open. They stop seating pretty early.

Yelp
We had a special occasion dinner recently. Everything was perfect! All of the staff including bartender, servers and host made you feel truly welcome. Our meals were creative and generous portions. The space is larger than I expected and very classic country. We will return with friends.
google avatar

Peggy R.

Yelp
This restaurant is amazing! The lobster bisque is the best I've ever had! Our server, Deborah, was on top of things! She was always at our table at the right time. And the ambiance was amazing. The best restaurant we've been to in Plattsburgh!
google avatar

Yelp
The staff in the restaurant are very racist. The host was very rude and unwelcoming, refused to get us seated even though the tables were available, and did not let us go to the bar either. When we asked for recommendations he gave us more attitude and finally mumbled names of some restaurants that were very cheap with non heathy food. Overall very disappointed.

Rose G.

Yelp
Presentation of food was great. However, medium well should not bleed. Server did not make it over to the table to check on how things were. Server asked how things are when dropping the food off to table. I did speak with the owner and he did not give any care. Instead was making excuses on why I should except a meal that was too undercooked. After all, I can't make my filet raw if it was cooked to my order. Lost my business. I will NEVER go back!!! Think twice about eating here, and be prepared to be dissatisfied. The owner does not care about his customers. Only his money. I have eaten at many high end restaurants and do not mind paying for a good meal. The owner was a turn off thus bringing down customer service.

Yelp
The perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. I appreciate they grow their own produce in the summer. For a more casual atmosphere head to the bar area!

Allen R.

Yelp
If you're looking for fine dining or an excellent steak, this is the place. They also have a nice bistro menu. Excellent service and nice ambience.

Yelp
"Upscale European dinning in a n 1800s restored farmhouse....SOLD. Found this place after googling restaurants in upstate New York. We were out of town for work. Arrived at open with people already in line. Ordered filet Oscar and spice rubbed bison. Both were great and served with carrots, potatoes, and Brussels sprouts. For dessert blackberry/raspberry pie and house made peppermint stick ice cream. Nice cozy fireplace. Good service. Exactly as described and expected. Would love to visit in the future.

Yelp
Absolute shock?? I just go to Plattsburgh all the time because it's not far from Montreal to do some shopping for things we can never have in Canada. I went for birthday dinner and I must warn, Montreal is known for good food so my standards were already high. We were greeted with amazing service and a very nice and cozy ambiance. Once I picked the steak I wanted with the peppercorn sauce I was afraid I picked the wrong plate. Once it arrived i did not know this would be a place where the steak would just melt in my mouth I was so shocked. The scalloped potatoes are by far the best I've had in a while, the butternut squash mixed with the sauce and the steak balanced out the meal perfectly, and the hollandaise on top of the broccoli made me realize that it was probably the best steak meal I've had in a while. I'm definitely coming here again!

Yelp
Great experience from entrance to exit. Parking lot is easy to access, lots of parking too. Immediately was told to choose a table. Given menus and water upon sitting. Great selection of food and average pricing. Bread and butter was served. Order was taken and came out quickly. Staff was friendly. Food was delicious. Would highly recommend and will definitely go back when in the area.

Yelp
If I could give you 10 stars I would ... Absolutely perfect start to finish. Staff was super friendly! The place is so warm and inviting and very relaxing. It's dim w candles a fireplace and quiet ! Food was absolutely delicious, so many unique dishes on the menu. The house salad w pecans and their house dressing Dijon was excellent... We ordered Roasted duck (omg) & pork w prosciutto and mozzarella in Marsala sauce. Wow ! The sangria drinks were excellent... Dessert cinnamon vanilla pecan ice cream & blueberry blackberry cobbler w ice cream. Highly recommended if your in town.

Yelp
The best restaurant in Plattsburgh!!! The lobster bisque was amazing and had lots of lobster inside. The filet was cooked to perfection and so was the prime rib. Flavors were perfect and the sides were good too. Also had a apple-raspberry pie which was great and the homemade ice cream is to die for!! Expensive but worth the money!

Yelp
Amazing food and great service . Can't wait to come back for next time. Yummy yummy!!

Yelp
Outstanding in all areas. I would recommend it in an heartbeat. Request a booth, more amenable to being able to talk.

Yelp
Got a gift card for there otherwise would have never gone. Food was really delicious and the staff were pleasant. I would go again the prices are up there but I guess you get what you pay for, so give them a visit I don't think it will disappoint.

Jeannine B.

Yelp
I enjoy eating at the bar when traveling for work. It is an intimate atmosphere where the locals are always so pleasant. I had the Sea scallops and jumbo shrimp en Bouchee. It was so tasty!! I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Best restaurant we've experienced in quite some time. Food, service, ambiance all outstanding! It's a must if your within 59 miles. Shout out to Alex. Top notch service:)

Yelp
Walked in on the way to fly out of Burlington for lunch on valentines day. Seated almost immediately and had fantastic meals with delicious crem Brule and tiramisu dessert. I'd mention what we has for entres, but it really doesn't matter. If you have a meal here, it will be delicious.

Yelp
NOT so Happy Birthday. Haven been here in 6 years, had a gift card we we thought we would try again. Ordered the $50, medium rare beef wellington. Shortly after dinner arrives, I show the waiter the RAW beef. He non-sholontly says, thats the way they cook it, would you like us to cook it longer? Not appreciating the tone, I decided to try to get thru it as I occasionally like a rare steak. As I cut towards the middle, I find the entire bottom of the pastry dough (suprise) RAW. I again motion the waiter over who tells me that's the duck pate. So I scape the grey substance from the top of the dough and show him the difference between duck pate on the top and RAW dough, which I lift and streatch with my fingers on the bottom. He replies, "that's the way we cook it, do you want us to put it back in? After explaining that you can not reheat or recook raw dough, he asks what I want. After 3 denied requests for a replacement dinner, "we" settle on a replacement puff pastry. To complete the night, the $40 duck dinner we ordered was like chewing shoeleather and faintly had a flavor of duck. Will not go back, EVER.

Deborah R.

Yelp
I love this restaurant. Wonderful atmosphere and awesome food. The service is incredible the waitstaff is very attentive

Emy P.

Yelp
Never disappointed. Like the cozy Bistro vibe and availability of both the main dining and bistro menus. Wine selections always provide a price-worthy option to compliment my food selections. Staff are attentive and knowledgeable. Look forward to my next visit.

Yelp
A good find while staying for vacation! For a party of 10 we had a nice area towards the back pretty much all to ourselves. Our waitress, Morgan was her name I think, was amazing!!! She described dishes as if you could almost taste them. Took her recommendation on the salad special and boy were we glad we didn't just get the house salad! They mentioned they picked the the ingredients right in their garden out back. So fresh!!! The filet and lobster tail with was to die for! Such a wonderful atmosphere and dining experience. Definitely try this place out.

Yelp
Worst customer service. When the owner/chef leaves (he is on vacation for 8 days and the quality of the food left with him) there is no one with any sort of power or authority to assist you if your food is terrible. The broccoli was hardly cooked with a congealed yellow, salty blob sat atop the floret, the salmon was over-cooked (I needed water to swallow it down), the rice was crunchy, and the salad was dry due to the miserly amount of dressing. The hostess argued that the team works hard and that she can assure the quality because she helped pack it, which is a completely absurd and frustrating argument to make. The manager, Scott, was "uncomfortable" with doing anything other than apologizing. He did not offer to remake my food and does not have the authority to issue a refund. All he is able or "comfortable" to do is apologize which means absolutely nothing to a weekly regular. I never eat in the restaurant because it smells and feels like the dank, disgusting home of an incontinent 90 year old sat in front of a flop motel. It's overall a very depressing experience to dine in. The only good thing about it was the food, and now that's gone too. This place would never survive outside this benighted town.

Linda R.

Yelp
Very disappointed in this restaurant. We waited over an hour after we ordered and still no sign of our food so we paid for our drinks and left.
google avatar

Danny H.

Yelp
Over priced, not anything special food. I mean just go to a fast food joint and be much happier, trust me. You will easily get a bill off $100 for two people to eat here, and thats basic food. Het a steak and that will jack your bill up to $200.

Scott Z.

Yelp
An excellent choice of dishes. We first had a crab cake appetizer then I had the pork chop with mushroom sauce and polenta. Both were wonderful. The service was spot on. I would recommend Anthony's to anyone interested in an upscale dinning experience. Definitely on the list for a return visit.
google avatar

Jim K.

Yelp
Great hamburger. Everything else, nothing to rave about for the price. We used to enjoy the Bistro for dinner but now you need a reservation even for that.
google avatar

Cheney P.

Yelp
Food is good, but over priced and the portions are very small. The only reason they are still in business is, because Plattsburgh has no nice restaurants.
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
Food price / quality rating 8. Atmosphere is rustic Colonial, with exposed hand hewn beams and low ceilings. Creative and interesting layout, with different levels and cozy booths, and a very warm ambiance. A warm, delicious homemade bread is served. I had the Braised Wild Boar, mostly because I've never seen this offered. It was a little gamey tasting (expected) and a little too fatty for me. Served over linguine with a butter and jus. It was lacking in flavor. The wife had a half duck that was presented nicely with a gravy, but again, I thought it lacked flavor. We split a piece of "souffle style" cheesecake (sometimes called "Japanese cheesecake") that was exceptionally good. I had two drinks and the wife had two ice teas, and the bill was over $100. Service was very good.

Yelp
Get the duck! My husband and I came to Plattsburgh on business. We didn't expect to find much in this northern town, and after driving most of the day, we weren't very hungry. But I had to eat something before bedtime, so we walked up the street to Anthony's. As soon as my husband saw duck on the menu, he had to try it. We ordered the half duck along with a big salad, and it made a delicious and satisfying meal. The meat was moist and flavorful, with a delectable sauce. It was accompanied by a small plate of rice and fresh-cooked broccoli and carrots. With the salad and the yummy house bread, we had a gourmet dinner for a reasonable price. The duck was as good as the ones we've had at Morimoto in Disney World, and that's saying a lot. Please note that this is a garden-to-table type of place. The vegetables are served in their natural state. You won't find any cheese sauce on the broccoli or exotic spices on the carrots. There are salt and pepper shakers on the tables so diners can season their own food. The next time we come, I hope we'll have bigger appetites so we can try more of the menu.

Maria B.

Yelp
One of the best meals we have ever had. We stopped by on our way to Montreal. Little did we know the gem that we were about to uncover. Can't wait to go back!

Lauren S.

Yelp
My husband and I dined here while staying overnight in Plattsburgh. The food service and ambiance were delightful as well as the value. We had the pork scallopini and the haddock special. Both very good. Our servers went above and beyond. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

Julia M.

Yelp
the most expensive restaurant in town for virtually no reason other than to create a class divide. their lobster bisque is good, and their unique selection of meat is nice if you're a meat eater, the drinks are good, but the food is generally disappointing. even their salads are embarrassing. the service is mediocre at best and the food is no better than a home cooked meal. do your wallet a favor and go to the grocery store instead. if you've got money to spend because you're too lazy to cook, then go to the twisted carrot down town instead. their food is what anthony's wishes it was. the only reason to go to anthony's is because you're feeling snobby. it's really so overrated.

Sarah M.

Yelp
Uniquely interesting atmosphere, freshest salad ever! Delicious entries delivered with warm (but not too friendly), professional staff. Stop in!
google avatar

Sherri F.

Yelp
Always great food and service Anthony's is a Comfortable place wether the dining room or bistro I always feel welcomed and well taken care of and of course satisfied
google avatar

Jefferson L.

Yelp
Food: The Anthony's salad is a deconstructed collection of yummyness - field greens, fresh tomato, pickled onion, egg, shredded carrot, and mozzarella. The grilled salmon was good (though somewhat over-cooked despite my asking for it to be prepared medium-rare) - and they whipped-up a tasty tartar sauce at my request. T'was accompanied by mashed sweet potatoes, rice, and green beans. Delicious homemade butterscotch blonde crumble ice cream finished my delightful meal. Service: Attentive. Very good. Ambience: Farmhouse French ... or is it Farmhouse Italian?

Maria S.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food and dessert! Service was exceptional! Certainly the best restaurant in Plattsburgh!
google avatar

Brian Q.

Yelp
After moving to Plattsburgh, I keep hearing that Anthony's is the best of the best - although very good with their rustic French sauces and home grown vegetables - I think it is slightly overhyped, especially for the price. The steak was equivalent to other steakhouses I've been too and I've made usda prime steak at home with similar results - I had take out crab cakes and filet Oscar and both were good, will be back to dine in and update the review.
google avatar

Yelp
We were traveling and stumbled along this gem located near our hotel, will definitely be back. It was a Monday night and we sat in the smaller, quaint, bar area. The service and the food were great. The warm baguette was a delicious start and then we had Bolognese and Chicken Parmesan. Five Stars!

Steve S.

Yelp
Food is amazing service was outstanding best restaurant in Plattsburgh will definitely eat there again
google avatar

Alexander S.

Yelp
Wonderful menu, terrific food, amazing service. I wish I was living here instead of just visiting so I could come again. The wine list is food and the French foods made me salivate. The French onion soup may have been the best I have ever had. If you enjoy good food and an excellent atmosphere, (even if you are alone) I strongly encourage you to try this restaurant.
