If you want a place where you feel relaxed, pampered and away from it all, yet still 100% feel like you are experiencing true old historic Sardinia, Antica Locanda Lunetta is where you should go. From the warm welcome by Agostino, to the charming, beautiful and comfortable decor both indoors and in the courtyard, to readily available beverages and gourmet snacks, everything is perfect. The owners have true talent in creating an incredibly inviting setting. There are tasteful details to be discovered everywhere. We were there on Easter Sunday and they even made sure we had a delicious homemade dinner as most of the local restaurants were closed. The included breakfast was delicious and I was impressed by the array of offerings especially for a property with only five rooms (probably five different local jams, 4-5 pastries and breads, a fresh baked Sardinia style quiche, fresh squeezed juice and so much more). We were travelling with our adult son and we appreciated the quality selection of wine and prosecco in the honesty bar, all at a very reasonable price. We fell in love with mirto during our travels through Sardinia and all agreed the slightly slushy, very fresh tasking one Agostino served was the best. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms spacious. It was easy to drop our bags inside the front gate and park our rental car in the public lot very close by. While Mandas itself doesn't have much to offer, we chose the location because of the easy drive to Su Nuraxi di Barumini. We wish we had known how much we would love this property as we would have booked more than one night and made it our home base - it is an easy drive to Dolianova and their olive oil and cheese tours plus countless other southern Sardinian sites. With advance notice, the owners can also arrange for these experiences to come to you. Even if you want to spend time in Cagliari, you should consider staying here as the drive is not that far and the quiet atmosphere so much better. Definitely one of the best places we have stayed in our 30+ years of travel.

Perfect. If you’re reading this, don’t hesitate to book! Agostino and his family have created a real paradise here in Mandas - we felt welcome and relaxed from the very moment we arrived. Having stayed in various places across the island during the course of a week, Antica Locanda Lunetta - as well as the surrounding area - was by far our favourite part of the trip. The courtyard is beautiful and inviting both day and night. The breakfast is freshly prepared and will leave you wanting for nothing. We stayed in the room with the private herb garden/terrace and it was stunning; clean, comfortable, a spacious bathroom, with effective and quiet air conditioning. Mandas is a small but unspoilt town, with hidden gems such as Osteria La Forchetta which is an absolute must! We did almost all of the suggestions given by Agostino which were all superb. We could easily have spent a week here and will almost certainly return in the future. If you’re looking for a relaxing, unforgettable, and authentic Sardinian experience, look no further. Thank you Agostino!

We followed the reviews and booked in order to stay close to the amazing Su Nuraxi di Barumini, Bronze Age nuraghi settlements. Barbara and Agostino have really perfected their B&B experience and I only wish we could have stayed longer. We loved the afternoon tapas board in their courtyard and the sublime breakfast and the most comfortable room of our tour of Sardinia. We dropped off luggage alonside the courtyard and I dropped car off a few minutes walk in town - certainly not a hassle.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Barbara and Agostino truly make you feel like home. They both offered wonderful recommendations and we had some of the best meals we’ve eaten in Italy. We used their cozy garden each evening to read and relax after touring around the lovely town of Mandas by day. The breakfast is wonderful as well, with the best cappuccinos in town! The little details here make a stay so special. Barbara even drove us to the train given we did not have a car, the most thoughtful hosts! We will be back.

We stayed at Lunetta for a whole week and used it as our starting point to explore central and South Sardegna. Although there is not much to do in Mandas itself from a touristic perspective, the broader surroundings surely compensate for that.||In that sense Lunetta is indeed an excellent base for a longer term visit. Barbara is extremely forthcoming with inside advice and assistance in making the necessary reservations. Together with husband Gian Luca and brother Agostino she does her outmost best to make the stay and vacation as memorable as possible. The place itself is like an oasis in the middle of the village. We stayed in the groundfloor suite with our own little terras in the beautiful internal patio garden. Breakfasts were very original in composition and professionally served in the impeccable breakfast room.||All in all, we could not have landed better for our first exploratory visit of this wonderfull island.

We decided to stay here one night due to the convenient location to the Su Nuraxi Nuraghe archaeological sight. The B&B is located down a tiny alleyway where you can only drop off your luggage. Parking is in the main lot outside the police station a few blocks away. ||We could not find a check-in time on our booking. When we arrived just before 3pm no one answered the buzzer on the door or on WhatsApp message. The contact phone number on the door was illegible so we had to try and find a number on our booking. We were outside the property for about 15 minutes before the owner let us in. ||The property is a charming old coaching inn which has a very pretty internal courtyard garden. We booked a double room which was located upstairs and overlooked the garden. The room was nice although a little dark. The air-conditioning worked well and there was a kettle and tea in the room (no coffee). The shower in the bathroom was extremely small and difficult to move around in which could be an issue for some people. ||There is an honesty bar with self-serve wine and a few bottled drinks which we weren’t familiar with (one appeared to be a shandy) and a meat and cheese platter can be ordered for €15.||Mandas is not an attractive town. There is no centre and it is tricky to walk around due to the traffic and lack of footpaths. There are a couple of a bars at the top of the town and a small supermarket. We would recommend Osteria La Forchetta restaurant which was really good for dinner.||The hosts and the property are very nice but we felt that the B&B was expensive at €167 for a standard room at this time of year.

We spent 2 nights in this lovely, quiet, most relaxing and pleasant B&B. Hosts were very sweet, and available for any questions or requests. There are only a few rooms so it doesn’t get that crowded. It felt private and it’s definitely a hidden gem. Great selection for breakfast, and you can ask for eggs as well. The hosts recommend activities that we didn’t get to do, but they’ll help you book them. I’d do them all if we went back some day (Olive oil tasting, wine tasting, kayaking etc) Some notes: The village is really really small, and just a few places to eat and drink near by. The neighbourhood restaurants have nice pizzas and great local wine. (Bar Texile) We went in 2024 April, so just at the end of off-season. We can certainly see the whole island filling up and bringing a more vibrant energy to these small villages too. It felt special to be amongst the locals though. Renting a car is a must. Can’t get around Sardinia otherwise.

We stayed here for 3 nights in April. Our hosts, Barbara and her brother Agostino were so welcoming and helpful! Our room was large and the bed very comfortable while it was a little cool at night the heating worked very well in the room. The bathroom was also lg with tub and shower with plenty of hot water. We also had a small private deck outside our door in their courtyard with two chairs which we enjoyed a lot. Mandes is a cute small city and easy to walk around. Breakfast was amazing with plenty of delicious things to eat. Barbara and her brother had several good recommendations on where to eat in Mandes. My husband and I both highly recommend Antica Locanda Lunetta for your stay in central Sardinia!
