I really loved this place. Had three meals there over the week. They don’t take reservations so I recommend getting there early, especially on a Friday. The pasta, veg, and meat were all great. I enjoyed sitting out on the street for each meal but beware the slope of the street can be tricky. Their internal dining is nice too.

Get there early, just after opening, or after 21:30, to avoid queues. I’m not sure if you can book ahead … some large groups of men came in later (after 21:00). We were there by 19:30 and had to wait 10-15 minutes As there were 4 “tables” /groups in front of us in the queue. It was pleasant weather and good people watching ad we stood in the narrow street. Staff were pleasant and patient when taking our order (for four people), brisk in delivery, and attentive when we flagged them down as they whisked between tables. Interesting pictures, posters, press clippings on the wall. Seemed to be trattoria in style … I had the homemade spaghetti with a wild boar sauce … very tasty. The 250 ml carafe of Chianti was good value for money. I wasn’t sure if the Traditional Cream Dessert I ordered was the lemon custard pie slice I received, but it was nice.

They were very welcoming. Even though I went alone, they treated me very kindly without any prejudice. I could choose any table I comfortable. The restaurant was quite busy, with people waiting in line constantly, probably because it had received a Michelin star. I waited for about 20-30 minutes. The food was delicious with a local touch and reasonably priced. Overall, it was very good there.

Very tasty food , done with high quolity products. Reasonable prices, good service. You must made reservation to be sure you get there, or wait in long queue. .

Google
It's an awesome traditional Tuscan OSTERIA. We've never been disappointed! They have several rooms. We only go for dinner. And sit in the front room. With our favorite waiter, MICHELE & STAFF! Arrive early. Because whether you go for lunch or dinner. There's always a line before opening. You definitely won't be disappointed. SALUTÉ! 🍽🥂🇮🇹😍

Google
Great restaurant! The food was very good, and reasonably priced. The house wine was very nice and the place had a great atmosphere. Some tourists (like us!) earlier on, but later in the evening the crowd was all local Italians. No reservations, and no English menu. Absolutely worth a visit if you are staying in Arezzo.

Google
Nice place with surprisingly non-touristy prices (meat dish for €13 is fantastic for Tuscany), looks small but inside there are 2 big rooms. We had a friendly waiter, we liked everything except the house wine (it was not bad but I would have drunk something more expensive, but tastier, unfortunately I was not offered it). Definitely recommend the restaurant, tasty and quite fast.

Yelp
What a picturesque location right there below the old hilltop stronghold. Charming narrow streets, shops, limited tourist kitch....its a beautiful location. I recommend parking on the opposite side of the hill and climbing up and over, through the ancient walls and past the church...don't worry there are tons of escalators...however you will have a steep walk up and down once you get on the side with the restaurant but this is still the ideal parking....now the food: this is top notch Tuscan cooking. I had the pici with the boar sauce, my daughter had the ravioli, and my wife had the pappardelle with mushroom sauce. All were amazing. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. And the wine is delicious

Yelp
Fantastic traditional Italian food and service! I have brought multiple groups here and it's always been delicious

Yelp
Worth the train ride from Florence. Melon and prosciutto. Homemade pasta with truffles, pasta with butter and sage, and gnocchi with butter and sage with a side of zucchini salad. A glass of house local wine. Everything was bursting with flavors! Espresso and tiramisu for a happy ending! So creamy! Such a wonderful, busy and great Osteria in Arezzo. Quaint place with quality food!

Yelp
Excellent place to grab lunch. Service was great and food was fantastic. We had minestrone soup, boar meat pici, and gnocchi. Would recommend!

Yelp
Arezzo, Italy Loved our two visits to this oldest restaurant in Arezzo. Owned by two brothers, this is either the third or fourth generation running the family restaurant. The atmosphere is lively, and the food so inexpensive and delicious. Great portions, we dined twice. Oldest restaurant in town, not to be missed! Wild Boar, Rabbit, Snails, are some of the specialties, tiramisu not to be missed! Loved!

Yelp
I can not recommend this restaurant enough-- for me, it was one of those meals you look back on for years to come and remember for so many reasons. I visited Arezzo with a group of my friends from Spain during our Easter holidays, where we stumbled upon Antica Osteria L'Agania by chance-- we were starving, saw a few good reviews online, and happened to be around the corner. We had a wait, but not too long. Once we were seated, we quickly looked through the menu and made our choices-- one friend tried the wild boar since it was a Tuscan specialty, but I saw truffle pasta and my mind was made up. It was a super simple dish, but done so, so well that I can still remember how it tastes today. Along with the food, the great (and inexpensive) house wine, the desserts, and the brisk but friendly service just created an unforgettable experience, without seeming geared towards tourists or catered to foreigners. Don't miss this spot!

Yelp
My husband and I were in Arezzo for their monthly flea market. We went here for dinner on the recommendation of our hotel receptionist. What a magnificent restaurant!! The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Staff was very friendly. This is the place to go if you're in Arezzo and you want to eat where the locals go. We had the house antipasti selection and two house salads to start, my main course was the tagliatelle with truffles, my husband had the ravioli with cinghiale sauce (wild boar), and finally we had the traditional cantucci with vin santo for dessert. The truffles were so fragrant and better than the same dish I ordered in a Florence restaurant the next day. My husband said the cinghiale sauce was better than a Sienese restaurant we had gone to the night before. I can't say enough good things about this place. A true gem.

Yelp
We had dinner here and it was awesome! First, get there early. It got packed almost right after we got there, and then like 30 people were waiting around outside for seating as it became available. I highly recommend the home made spaghetti with whatever sauce you feel, but I went with the wild boar sauce and it's one of the best things I've had so far in Italy. I also got the wild boar stew as my main, it was delicious. The place isn't fancy, but it's quaint and the flavors and texture are perfect. The decor is what you'd expect for a small family run place.

Yelp
This quaint little restaurant was filled with locals each night of our visit. Both nights we dined early- so got a table for our group, but others were turned away later. Fantastic options- duck, rabbit, wild boar, snails and pasta with whichever sauce you would like. Friendly to us and great service. I liked the duck and my second choice of pasta with boar ragu. I recommend this place for atmosphere, price and an authentic Italian dining experience.

Yelp
The Wild Boar Stew and veal carpaccio was wonderful the 1st time I was here so I am back. They were closed Sunday and Monday. It is a traditional Osteria with local food that is well priced. Today I had meatball and grilled veggies and my companion had gnocchi with wild boar ragu. All three dishes were exceptional.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in Tuscany. There is a reason why there is always so much life at this restaurant. Loved by locals and visitors for their excellent quality food at very reasonable prices. Their minestrone soup might be the best on the planet, their fresh pastas are all excellent (especially the mixed vegetables sauce), and the dessert is possibly the best I've ever had in my life. The cheesecake, the tiramisu, etc. It's all amazing and will keep you coming back for more. Bravo!

Yelp
One of the best meals we had in a country of great food. Every single dish was delicious and the 5 euro bottles of house wine are solid. We paid twice as much to eat at lancia d'oro and this place was every bit as good. I can't recommend it highly enough. I'm weary of using yelp outside of America because tourists think all Italian food tastes good and everything ends up overrated but this one really is worth 5 stars.

Yelp
Delicious inexpensive restaurant in Arezzo! Fresh pasta, salads and lovely house wine. Love that you could pick which type of pasta you wanted and which sauce you wanted it to accompany - I had the truffle which I would HIGHLY recommend!

Yelp
Had a great meal with my family. Pastas were delicious and we also had pork chops with various sides. Very reasonably priced. Service was very good too. We struggled with the italian on menu and they helped us out with some English menus. I would be back if we were staying more days.

Yelp
Chosen by review, I found a nice and cosy local Osteria with meat delicatessen: staff friendly and well-mannered, good wine, good food.

Yelp
When locals are eating in a small, off the beaten path restaurant, that's where you should eat also. Step right back into the past in this adorable restaurant. Very welcoming to us Americans, even though we have limited Italian. Gnocchi, ravioli and tripe (yes tripe!) were excellent! It was interesting listening to all of the chatter. Should be on your list!

Yelp
Wow. Every dish was amazing! Perfect atmosphere, and swift, competent service. Wild boar sauce to die for, sausage a powerful surprise, and pappardelle with truffle that lingered seductively in my mouth. House Chianti for 5 Euros!?!!? I am one. happy. woman.

Yelp
For our one-day visit to Arezzo, our Italian host suggested the restaurant next door. It was closed on Wednesday, so we thought we'd try Agania. Although we were a tad early for lunch, the place was nearly filled, entirely by locals, apparently. We got the last table for three. There's a classic neighborhood feeling, with the staff seeming to know everyone. Lots of laughing on all sides. We already knew we'd made a very lucky choice before our food arrived. And the food was spectacular! Right-sized portions, a nine euro prosecco, wonderful bread. I had a local traditional dish, grifi alla aretina, or veal stew Arezzo style. Absolutely delicious, and all of 7 euros! Dessert was the only menu splurge at 5 euros, panacotta with caramel--I'd have paid twice that happily! Service was perfect, too.

Yelp
Arrive early as the tables fill up quickly. The service is good and friendly. We had the antipasto mista which was great. Next course we chose two, pappardelle alle cinghiale ( wide noodle pasta with wild boar sauce and second was the pappardelle alle black truffles. I can truthfully say you must try the black truffles! Out of this world!!! We followed that with baked pear which was also good. Have fun and enjoy as much as we did.

Mark L.

Yelp
My wife and spent 2 weeks in Arezzo and had dinner here 3 times. The atmosphere is excellent. Service was prompt and friendly and the food was outstanding. Highly recommended. Love this place.
