After 3 weeks in Japan you crave some western food. Also, there’s nothing open past 5pm in this Hase area, which is frustrating. This place is open until 6. Anyway, we stumbled on this sandwich shop and they use their own cured meats here. It’s delicious. The owner obviously cares about making the best possible sandwich. It rivals a prosciutto sandwich in NYC. The porcetta sandwich was also delicious. The coffee I had was great too!

I had the pleasure of visiting Antico Rondino Prosciutteria during a day trip to Kamakura, and it was an unforgettable experience. The ambience was excellent. There was Italian music played softly in the background, adding just the right touch to accompany conversation. The service was equally outstanding; the owners were warm, welcoming, and made the whole visit feel special. The food was absolutely perfect. It was fresh, delicious, and full of authentic flavor. Combined with the cozy atmosphere and wonderful service, it made for a truly memorable stop in Kamakura. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a place with excellent food, great ambience, and genuine hospitality.

Stumbled upon this little gem exactly when we needed somewhere to sit down and recharge after exploring Hasedera. The owners were incredibly polite and helpful with good english and patience for my very sub-par Japanese! The focaccia was so light and fluffy and the pork in the sandwiches was delicious. If you're looking for a cute cosy little spot to recharge, I can't recommend it enough.

I’m in love with the food and the vibe here! I’m Italian and the quality of the products are all perfect, like I was eating back home. I come here every-time I’m in Kamakura, highly recommended!

This is an excellent restaurant to take a break at when visiting Hasedera and the Buddha as it is centrally located between the two main attractions, yet off the main path so not as visible. You order at the counter and choose between a number of sandwich options, meat/cheese platters, and sides. You can add a few glasses of wine to your order and you refill your glass from the bottles that sit on ice. There is also a water station, juice and sodas and high quality coffee options as well. Our food was made to order, so we had plenty of time to rest from all the walking (the wine helped the relaxing as well). Food was excellent, beautifully plated and the restaurant has wide windows overlooking a garden which was rich with blooming hydrangeas. I’m not sure if they take advanced reservations, but if they do - that would be a great plan for a guaranteed high quality meal and restful down-time while touring. Excellent find and I will be back whenever I take guests to see this area of kamakura.

The shop is down a side street off the main but very easy to spot. You order before you sit down but you can order to go. We tried the prosciutto and the porchetta and both were delicious. The prosciutto had soft cheese, salty ham, sundried tomatoes and peppery arugula, while the porchetta was a hot sandwich with hot porchetta and herb sauce. The interior is rustic and classic and full of charm. We're only here in Kamakura for a little bit but I'd love to come again and try the other sandwiches on their menu.

Great mortadella. Awesome charcutterie. Actually, everything is 10/10. I drive up the coast from Sajima to pick up food here for take out or dine in.
