No sidewalks and road is crappy. Port area is fine but outside it’s dirty and lots of litter. St James beach and the fort is full of litter. They should maintain it since the island rely on tourism.

If you are going for a beach vacation, this is your place. IDK why others are whining about the road conditions, or the poverty. They are certainly real, but I didn't come to walk around a third world town. My husband and I have a long list of places we want to visit, before going back somewhere we have been. This is the only place we would make an exception and go back soon. Perfect water, perfect beaches!

Great island and Heminway's is a must stop downtown. Friendly people and great waterfront vibe at the cruise harbor.

Antigua & Barbuda are simply the best islands in the West Indies by far.

7th visit. Beaches are plentiful, clean and quiet. People are friendly. Lots of great dining around the island. Lots to do - hiking, reef fishing, swimming with stingrays, lots of historical forts etc.

There's something magical about this island that I can't quite put into words – it just gets under your skin in the best way possible. I spent a week there with my daughter, and honestly? It was pure bliss from start to finish. We kept things simple – grabbed an Airbnb, rented a car, and just let the island guide us from beach to beach. One of our favorite adventures was exploring the history and soaking up the vibes at Shirley Heights on a Sunday (highly recommend!). We beach-hopped our way around and fell head over heels for Ffryes Beach and Fort James Beach – each one more stunning than the last. And the food? Don't even get me started. Everything we ate was simply incredible. Going in May turned out to be perfect timing. No cruise ships meant we practically had the island to ourselves – so peaceful and unhurried. But what really made the trip special was the people. Everyone we met was genuinely warm and welcoming, the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like you're visiting old friends. Now, if you go, you MUST take a day trip to Barbuda. I'm not exaggerating when I say the beaches there are otherworldly. Some things you just have to see to believe, and Barbuda's beaches are one of them. I loved it so much that I've already declared to my daughter she's getting married there someday. Manifesting it as we speak! Trust me – just go. You won't regret it.

Beautiful island with 365 beaches one for every day of the year but the beach is just the beginning. So many adventures just waiting to happen. Rich culture and scenery you'll never forget. Best time to visit is every day of the year.

Beaches are all that's good about it. The people managing this island are doing a horrible job. Roads that look like the third world, so is the way they drive and park. Not much open after 5 pm. Rent a chair at 3 pm, get kicked out around 4 because the guy can't tell us beforehand... probably best to stick to resorts if there are any good ones, I don't recommend living outside a resort. I feel scammed by politically correct people... it's a run down place and a number of people are not very polite or friendly, but yea the beaches are the nicest...
