Antigua Capilla Boutique Bed and Breakfast

We spent a week in the gorgeous Mexico Suite - luxurious comfortable bed plus additional area with 2 leather recliners (!); beautiful view from our suite of the lush courtyard where we ate our delicious breakfasts in front of the 16th century Stone chapel. After spending a day down in the Centro Historico walking around SMA, it was a treat to come back up to our lovely B & B. The views from the rooftop deck are breathtaking. Watching the hummingbirds while sipping some chilled wine as the sun sets is a perfect way to end the day. Antonieta and Francisco are fabulous hosts! Highly recommend this amazing retreat!!

LOVED this place! This place offers old world charm in a newer build, colonial style villa. Our room was beautifully appointed, as was the rest of the property. The attention to detail was most evident throughout. The breakfasts were all delicious and we absolutely enjoyed the staff, as well as the Owner/Opperators, A & F. If staying in SMA, just book this place! Remember the charm of Bed & Breakfast's? This place sets the bar.

We found this B & B by watching the "A & F and Beyond" YouTube channel which is where we first 'met' the owners of Antiqua Capilla. We had been planning a trip to Mexico and SMD was one of our destinations. We didn't even look for any other place as we had already decided that we were staying with A&F at Antigua Capilla. We are so very glad we chose so well! Antigua Capilla was beyond our expectations in every way! This is a beautiful resort property with all the amenities you would need and expect. The room was modern, comfortable, relaxing and spacious. The bedding was super comfortable, with crips, clean white sheets, and the shower is immense with a wonderful skylight overhead. The level of attention to the details is evident in every way and everything down to the very smallest elements. The entire property is in the style of Spanish Colonial and it's beautiful. The construction and interior designs are over the top beautiful and impressively authentic. There is a wonderful courtyard with a fountain and the property was constructed around a c.17th century small chapel that was smartly retained as an historical element of the overall remodel. Breakfast is included and it was fresh and made to order from local ingredients. There is a wonderful roof top terrace that affords beautiful vistas across all of San Miguel de Allende. The sunsets were a religious experience. It is a short walk through the neighborhood to the center of the colonial city where there are so many delicious places to eat and many places to see.

Antigua Capilla is an incredible gem!! We truly enjoyed our stay. Beds and linens are incredibly comfortable. The decor in the rooms and common areas make one feel the joy and beauty of Mexico. Every detail is covered, like iron, ironing board, strong Wifi, purified water. Breakfast is delicious and served in the beautiful patio surrounded by plants and amazing architecture. Antonieta and Francisco are amazing hosts who have created a magical boutique hotel in San Miguel de Allende. I highly recommend staying at Antigua Capilla!! We will be back soon!!

Staying at Antigua Capilla B&B was truly one of the highlights of our first trip to SMA. From the moment we arrived, we felt more like cherished guests in a friend's beautiful home than travelers at a hotel. The grounds are absolutely stunning - lush, serene and lovingly maintained, with vibrant flowers, a peaceful courtyard, and incredible views. Every corner seems thoughtfully designed to inspire relaxation and connection with the beauty of San Miguel. The rooms are equally enchanting - each bedroom is decorated with authentic Mexican artesanias. The beds are so comfortable after lots of walking throughout the historic district. The attention to detail is remarkable, from handcrafted furnishings to the bathrooms that feel like a spa retreat, with gorgeous handmade Mexican tile that adds warmth and character. Each morning began with a delicious, varied breakfast made with locally sourced ingredients - fresh fruits, traditional Mexican dishes, and perfectly brewed coffee, Every bite felt a celebration of the region. But what truly sets Antigua Capilla apart is the warmth and hospitality of the owners. Their genuine care, attention to detail, and local insights made us feel completely at home and has brought us back again and again. We left feeling rested, inspired, and already dreaming of our return. If you're looking for a place that offers beauty, authenticity, and heartfelt hospitality, this is it.

The whole property was immaculate and beautiful. We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. The hosts are so kind and full of great information about San Miguel de Allende. We enjoyed walking the steep, cobblestone streets. There are plenty of taxis and ubbers if you have issues with the walking. We. Our stay was in July, and the weather was perfect the whole time. The staff was very pleasant as well.
