Pics from my absolutely gorgeous B&B Antigua Capilla Bed and Breakfast in San Miguel de Allende! ||They have earned the Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best award (the highest honor for the top 1% of listings on Tripadvisor) and been ranked one of the top 25 B&Bs and Inns in Mexico seven times!||I stayed for the first time in 2013 and am still friends with the owners all these years later. I can’t recommend it more highly — tell Antonieta and Francisco I sent you❣️

Wonderful B&B on the heights of San Miguel de Allende. The hosts are really charming, the house is exquisite, the rooms are large and very well decorated. Breakfast is freshly made, we stayed 2 nights and we had two different egg dishes. Yummy! The B&B is a 15 min walk away from the city centre. We highly recommend the place.

My husband and I just came back from a 6 night stay at Antigua Capilla B&B. I don't say this often, but if you are looking at this property, considering whether you should book or not ... just book! You will not be disappointed. Rather, delighted by every detail. When you walk through the big black iron gate at street level, heading towards the main door, you will begin to understand. The colorful tile work & filled flower pots are lovely, and this is just on the walkway towards the entry door! The home's interior is tastefully designed and decorated with Mexican art. The kitchen has all the modern conveniences you will need. Our room was very spacious and comfortable and we looked forward to our delicious breakfasts each morning. The hosts, Antonieta and Francisco couldn't have been nicer, providing helpful tips for visiting the area (they speak Spanish & English fluently). I don't want to reveal too many more of the details that make this B&B so very special, so you will be able to enjoy and discover them on your own, but, I will add that the courtyard is so tranquil and the rooftop view was absolutely stunning! The B&B is located up a hill and down a narrow, safe, well lit walkway. We enjoyed greeting locals & tourists along the way. We enjoyed our walks down to the main square (15 min tops), and then back up (after hearty meals throughout the day, we looked forward to the exercise ... & if we didn't want to walk back up we took a $6.00 taxi). Just book, I know you will love Antigua Capilla as much as my husband and I. |One more note: I am required to eat gluten-free for medical reasons and both hosts ensured that my breakfasts were GF)

The Antigua Capilla B&B is a must for your trip to San Miguel de Allende. The home, exquisitely decorated, was built around an old chapel by the hosts Antonieta and Francisco. We marveled each day at the beautiful decor in the bedrooms and the public spaces, including the spectacular rooftop patio. It was a refreshing and calming oasis upon return from our sightseeing days, and the walk up the hill. ||Breakfast is delicious and it was fun to meet and share experiences with fellow guests in a more traditional B&B atmosphere. In addition to being warm and friendly, Antonieta and Francisco were super responsive and very helpful in touring suggestions, including setting up drivers for out of town excursions or transportation to the airport. ||We would definitely return and recommend Antigua Capilla B&B to others. ||Thanks for a great time.

This very special place is an architectural delight. All of the rooms and the common areas are appointed with the most interesting Mexican art and handicrafts. The landscaping is lovely and provides a tranquil atmosphere. The rooftop view of the entire city is spectacular. Antonieta and Francisco are wonderful hosts providing helpful information about the area, attractions, transportation, restaurants and more. The breakfasts are delicious offering fresh fruit and hot Mexican inspired main dishes accompanied by fresh tortillas or artisan breads. Each of the rooms features a unique area of Mexico. The beds are super comfortable, the bathrooms spacious and well supplied. The walk down to town and back is a bit challenging but taxis are easily available and reasonable. This is a not to be missed gem.

The BnB has a lovely courtyard with a fountain, flowers and seating to enjoy it all. There is also a very nice large rooftop patio with city views. All the rooms are decorated with Mexican art and crafts, have gas fireplaces and comfortable beds Breakfast is Mexican or American and it is all good. The owners were very helpful and their suggestions were spot on. We appreciated that they offer private convenient transportation to and from the airport. The BnB is in a quiet part of town which is nice as many of the hotels have rooftop clubs with music at night. The Inn is about a 10 minute walk downhill to the center/historic area and a longer walk back as it is up hill. We often took a taxi or Uber back in the evenings for $3-4 dollars. Taxis and Uber cost $3-4 to go anywhere in San Miguel and are not hard to come by.

We stayed in this beautiful lodging for a few days around New Year's and were pleased and impressed with every dimension of our experience. Francisco and Antonieta were friendly, conscientious hosts who made us feel quite welcome and gave us guidance and advice on all sorts of practicalities. Their arrangements for our transportation by car from Mexico City and to Queretaro were especially appreciated. Our rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable, and decorated nicely. The rooftop terrace and the courtyard were both ideal locations for relaxing. The breakfasts were tasty, well-presented, and sustaining. We loved every aspect of our stay and wish that we could have continued there longer. If you are looking for first-class accommodations in San Miguel, we highly recommend Antigua Capilla!

Hubby and I booked a last minute trip to San Miguel and saw this place recommended on Tripadvisor. We were so happy with our stay. The decor of our room as well as the entire property made us feel like we were transported to Spanish colonial times. The property was clean and very well maintained, beds comfortable and delicious home cooked hot breakfast included each morning. ||The location was a short 15 minute downhill walk to the main square. Beware of the walk back to the property though. Pretty steep uphill trek. We ended up taking a taxi back everyday to avoid the uphill. Taxis were easy to find and cheap so it was worth it!||The property owners were very accommodating and easy to talk to. They gave us some great shopping, food, and out of town recommendations and even hooked us up with a private tour guide, Miguel, who took us around Guanajuato City.||We recommend this place for a couples getaway or for a small group. Hope you enjoy your stay here as much as we did!||Marissa and Aaron
