Great location, just note you can't drive up to it and have to park in the Lidl car park, not the cheapest! Breakfast was not great, lacking a bit. Our room was a small suite, very nice, bit tired but clean and a comfy bed. Some issues with the shower curtain not being long enough to go round the bath and an unfortunate smell in the loo, but we did mention these when we left. Good recommendations for dinner, as they don't have their own restaurant.

Location was superb. 10 mins walked from the bus station through the city center. It is in the old town area. Very convenient to get around. Lots of restaurants, bars and cafes. My room was the smallest one on the roof but still some spaces for 2 beds. The toilet was very small that the water drained too slow. The bed was clean and comfortable. Just some area was dirty with dust and hairs on the side table. There is soap and shampoo but no tooth brush. No complimentary water in the room since tap water is recommended drinkable.Breakfast was like standard hotels in europe with good croissants, bread, ham, chesses, yogurt and so on.

The building of the hotel itself is quite beautiful. It’s an old building and it could be charming, however it is extremely rundown. A lot of furniture is broken and carpets dirty and stained. The room is spacious and looks quite nice (old fashioned), but also that needs a renovation. The bed feels old, the windows do not close properly, and no airconditioner, which is horrible in a city were it easily goes above 30 degrees in the summer. The worse thing was probably the breakfast; no fresh eggs (just cooked eggs, but clearly overcooked (dry) and old), no fresh fruits, no proper bread (just slices for making toast and something looking like a croissant but definitely was nothing like it), no fresh juice, and just some disgusting yoghurt in plastic cups. It was a joke. The location of the hotel is nice, exactly in the center, but you cannot easily reach the hotel by car as it is located in a pedestrian area. You first need to call the desk, someone will come to you to let you go through the barrier, so you can put your luggage in the room. And then you need to park the car in a parking garage, which is 25 euro per day. So unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel. I hope the owners take all the comments seriously (there are many like this) and put serious effort in the renovation and improving facilities to get the hotel back on track.

Interesting hotel. It is neither a palace or a Spa, but it is in the old part of town and very convenient for sightseeing in the city. ||My room was upgraded to an apartment in the eves, which was so vast as not to be very practical, and with hindsight I should have requested the Classic room I'd booked. However, I had arrived late, and the person on duty was supposed to have gone off at 11pm, and was clearly not in a position to deal with a guest wanting a different room. The bedroom had a very comfortable bed, but you could only have got into it from one side without risking banging your head, and apart from a bedside table there was nothing else, so I had to put my clothes on a chair in the poorly lit corridor. The bathroom was some way away over two trip hazards (the floors are different levels). I never discovered where all the lights turned on and off, and several of those that did needed bulbs replacing. ||As other reviews have noted, breakfast was very basic. ||The two staff who seemed to be on duty covering reception and dining were pleasant, but really weren't able to answer questions about the town and various amenities including restaurants. All they did was use Google maps - they seemed to have no experience of the town.

I stayed at Antiq Palace Hotel and Spa in Ljubljana for two nights as part of a longer trip. Unfortunately, the experience of staying in the hotel was extremely disappointing and concerning. ||Despite being advertised as a spa hotel, we were informed upon arrival that the spa has been closed since the COVID-19 pandemic. This was not mentioned during booking, and the hotel continues to promote itself as a spa property.||The room we were given was a two-room suite, which I had not booked. Upon entering, we noticed a strong, unpleasant odor. There were two large fans pointed at the walls and an air purifier/dehumidifier running. Black mold was clearly visible in the corners of both the bedroom and living room. I developed a headache and nausea shortly after unpacking. After contacting the receptionist, we waited two hours before being moved to a smaller room, which again did not match the booking description or photos.||The next morning, we spoke with the manager and then the owner. The owner was extremely rude, shouted at us, and claimed we had been “upgraded” (which we had not requested). She denied any knowledge of the mold and dismissed our concerns about the serious health risks. We eventually agreed to a 15% refund (after requesting 25%) just to avoid further conflict. I provided my IBAN and SWIFT details and signed a document, but three weeks later, we have received neither the refund nor any response to our emails. During our stay, while we passed the suite the windows and doors were left open—presumably to mask the smell.||The location is unbeatable, very close to everything, though Ljubljana is a small city and it is possible to walk everywhere without any problems.||Other issues included:||• Very basic breakfast, with no hot meals maybe on demand but nobody informed us about this option||• Staff were unable to answer questions about the history of the building, despite the hotel being part of Historic Hotels of Europe and having received an award in 2022. We were simply referred to the website.||This hotel poses serious health risks and shows a complete lack of professionalism and care for guests. I strongly advise others to avoid this property.

Location was great & our suite was huge. But no way was this a 4 star hotel. Holes in the sheets & curtains; appliances not working properly; frayed towels. Our room didn't seem to be air conditioned & felt musty. Housekeeping didn't remove or replace wet towels. Courtyard didn't seem to have been tended in weeks. Finally: a giant, GIANT spider in the bathroom on our last day. Do not recommend.

Charming, older building in one of the best locations in Ljubljana, but unfortunately past its prime. Over the years it has been somewhat neglected: crumbling plaster on the ceiling, a musty smell in the bedroom caused by damp walls, and a clear need for renovation affect the stay. On the positive side, the staff are always trying their best to be friendly and helpful.

This hotel has a ton of potential to be amazing - and perhaps there are parts of it that are already very nice. We were put in a ground-floor apartment which certainly was a lot of space. But the furniture throughout the hotel was tacky and gaudy beyond belief and the room smelled of cigarette smoke. |The breakfast was dire, with industrial packaged stuff and no service to speak of. |On the plus side, the people at the front desk were very nice and the location is excellent as it's in the middle of the old town on a quiet street.
