To start, the location of the hotel was amazing. It was in the center of the city and a four-minute walk away from the old town. Our rooms were big and spacious, plus the bed sheets and towels were very clean and all the members of the staff, although very few, were very kind. That was the good part. One thing that we noticed right as we came, was that the corridors were extremely cold (we came in winter). The elevator was only capable of holding four people at a time, which was very stressing, as we were a big group. The tiles were either broken or not glued. In one of our rooms there was a big wooden block on the floor that had no purpose but tripping people in the middle of the night. The rooms smelled like sewage so that wasn’t very great. Due to the absurd architectural planning of the rooms, we had to bend down to get to one side of the bed, but at least it was a fun game of limbo. To be honest, I don’t understand how this hotel could have four stars. I probably won’t be returning.

Rooms are a little worn, but the building is 400 years old, so that’s to be expected! Fun place to stay and in a great location. Staff were very helpful, and the breakfast was good, too!

I was a little nervous about this hotel after reading some of the reviews. We were in Ljubliana for our honeymoon so it was important that things went well. I have to say we were delighted with our room - a huge suite on the ground floor with massive rooms. Lovely bathroom and the shower worked well. We had robes and decent towels. Tea & coffee making facilities, a tiny kitchen even! The hotel appeared to only have one member of staff on at any given time which just seemed slightly odd to me, but all the staff we encountered were lovely and so helpful. Breakfast was fine but a little sparse. The location of the hotel is amazing - right in the heart of the old town and university quarter, and very close to the river and all the restaurants and bars. We did have a car and it was ridiculously expensive to park for 2 days but it was really convenient so we didn't quibble. I had been told of the charge in advance so it didn't come as a shock. Would we stay again...probably, if we could guarantee the lovely big suite again!

This hotel is perfect if you want to be in the centre of the old town of ljubljana. It’s a couple mins walk away from the main restaurants and bars. You have loads of places to choose from. It’s a short 20 min walk to the castle or you can get a mini train up there/cable car type thing. Night life is amazing and lots of little shops to look in. The hotel itself is slightly rundown and the rooms can get very hot with only a portable fan, no proper ac. The bathroom I had had no airflow and smelt horrible (once I left the extractor fan on overnight it did help) Room had a TV and a not very cold mini fridge. Sheets and towels were clean and provided soap. This place is fine to stay in for a few days if you stay out most of the time. No proper place to sit and relax outside of your room within the hotel and breakfast selection wasn’t great. Staff were friendly but I would not stay there again. You are paying to be in the centre of the town not for the level of the hotel.

Really great hotel, nicely situated within the town. Staff were AMAZING we arrived so early and they let us leave our bags and chill in the lobby. Luanna (sorry for bad spelling probably) was so lovely, friendly, smiley and helpful. Great experience

I was pretty disappointed by this hotel. Pros: -Front desk people were nice, and let me check in early -Excellent location Cons: -The website specifically says all rooms have air conditioning. This was a lie and there was not even a fan to use. I need AC for medical reasons and this was the main reason I chose the hotel. Due to the absence of AC I slept very poorly and received several insect bites because the windows were open all night. I added a screenshot as proof of the false advertising. -Since the veranda is outside the windows of the room, you have 0 security if the window is opened. -There are not enough curtains to cover all the windows. This is a big deal because of the building courtyard and veranda. -The shower was very run down and uncomfortable. Water drained slowly and the doors would not close all the way. The shower would've been nice 25 years ago, but now it is falling apart and smells like mold/mildew. -The bedding and towels was freshly washed, but still had lingering cigarette odor from prior guests and/or the hands of the housekeeping staff. I did not feel clean after using the towels provided.

Beautiful room right in the city centre in a quiet side street 1 block from the river.. Delicious fresh breakfast and kind staff prepared a side salad without mozzarella for dairy free option. No decaf coffee though, no aircon, we got mozzie bites from open windows at night. Ancient night ceilings with historic paintwork preserved. The place is a labyrinth of corridors and staircases in varying states of repair, gardens are a little neglected and could be so much more. Reception staff are super nice and helped with free tour times and extra sheets (too hot for duvet)

We went for our business trip to Ljubliana and stayed at this hotel. Everyone of us had a different, very unique room. The bed was big and comfortable and breakfast to our satisfaction. The hotel team was very kind and attentive, they made sure we had everything we needed.
