On the Grid : Antique Market

"Located in a quiet square north of the Golden Gate (right beyond the large statue of Grgur Ninski and his famous golden toe), is the local antique market. Vendors set up shop every day in the summers and invite locals and visitors alike to peruse their trinket-laden tables for antique treasures. The modestly sized outdoor market is the perfect place to find a memorable artifact or perhaps some historic furniture to bring home." - Leslie Yeh

We loved everything about our 6 day stay at Hotel Antique Split. The location is perfect for seeing everything Split has to offer. Our room on the third floor was very nice - clean, spacious with a terrific bathroom. We loved the buffet breakfast in the morning as well as the coffee, tea and drinks available at all times. The setting for breakfast is very comfortable and friendly and weather permitting they can roll back the roof to allow a view of the blue sky. The best part of our stay was the people. Ante, Jan and Ana were incredibly helpful when it came to restaurant suggestions, day trip plans and anything at all that we needed. We also had fantastic conversations covering a wide range of topics. So when we return to the beautiful city of Split this is where we will stay and we look forward to our next visit.

Absolute gem tucked away in the heart of the old town. Beautiful rooms, tasty breakfast, and clear attention to detail throughout. By far, the most impressive and memorable part of the stay was the incredible staff. Their recommendations for food, coffee, cocktails, and even a place for a potential quick dip in the water were all wonderful. Their knowledge of the towns history was backed up by their clear passion for hospitality. We came in as strangers and left feeling like friends. Thank you, truly, to Jan and Ante for your kindness and hospitality.

I can’t say enough amazing things about this great hotel. The hotel itself is perfectly located directly in the old town. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Their breakfast is delicious and authentic. The hotel itself is spectacular, however, what takes this hotel to another level is the personal service the staff provide. We had the privilege of meeting Jan and Ante who truly made our stay here one to remember. They both went above and beyond to assist us with anything we needed. Jan and Ante made our time in Split so memorable. Thank you so much Jan and Ante! ||Also- The hotel keeps traditional Croatian Rakija (like a sweet dessert grappa) in the lobby for you to enjoy at anytime which was a special added touch.

My mum and I loved our short stay here, travelling from New Zealand. The staff were the most friendly we have experienced in such a long time. They were so helpful, carrying our cases up the stairs, answering all our questions and even helping us to get to the ferry port, showing us the way and carrying our cases for us. An excellent service. The breakfast was delicious as well. Will definitely be back one day!

The location is right in the Diocletian palace, and you have 24 hour access to the old city. The rooms were well furnished, beds very comfortable with several choices of pillows. The bathroom was well designed and very comfortable to use. The HVAC units were very effective and air conditioning worked very well in stifling heat in the high 90s. The windows opened easily to the outside, and shutters could be closed to darken the room completely.! The internet worked well, but we mostly used our phones as hotspots, and were able to answer business and work related questions in the US when necessary including when our worksites were restricted to only US IP addresses . The morning breakfast was wonderful with many choices, and they would cook eggs and omelettes to order. We would definitely stay here again.

This is the best hotel I've ever stayed at. The rooms were top notch, but the service went above and beyond. Every person at this hotel is the best of the best. When they knew I was leaving early, they had a gluten free lunch packed for me ready to go. They knew my schedule, suggested activities, like genuinely four seasons level service in a castle in split. I couldn't be more impressed

My husband and I recently stayed here for a night on our honeymoon. Our biggest mistake was not staying with Heritage Antique longer. We have been to roughly 30 countries combined and have never experienced better service, such a fantastic staff and a truly bespoke customer experience. Upon our arrival Jan met with us to direct us to the close-by parking area. From there, he insisted on helping us with our bags, took the time to give us a Split cheat sheet, guide us through local options on a map and provide recommendations for cuisine based on our preferences. Given that it was our honeymoon, they provided us with a complimentary upgrade overlooking the bell tower and cathedral and with an early check in which was so appreciated. The room was spacious, the bed was very large and comfortable with excellent pillows (which isn’t always a guarantee in Europe)! The bathroom products were top of the line as well (L’Occitane) with a much needed strong blow dryer that wasn’t attached to a wall. The breakfast was absolutely incredible with made to order eggs & insane chocolate crepes and some compliments of the chef chocolate liquor. The location is could not have been better, just a short walk to the Riva, other parts of the palace and the numerous shops within the walls of the palace. Ante helped to answer all of our questions even before our arrival, and spent time with us during our breakfast. The staff’s personal touches with postcards, wine, jams, (the list goes on) is certainly unmatched. When we come back to Split in the future, we will definitely be staying here again. Thank you!

We stayed here for 3 nights.||Prior to booking, I was in contact with the hotel via email and Jan was always responsive and very helpful.||I came here for my Mum's late birthday and retirement celebration. Jan kindly upgraded our room for free and there was also a bottle of red wine for us; great gesture!||Upon check in, we were immediately made to feel welcome and it has a very family vibe to it.||Jan went through the key sight seeing attractions with us and was always on hand to help for anything.||We came from Dubrovnik and I realised I left my earphones at the previous hotel. Jan immediately phoned the hotel and 2 days later, I had my earphones returned to me!||Breakfast was also great. All the staff are super friendly and I'd definitely recommend this hotel!||Thanks all for making this a memorable stay for both my Mum and I.
