On the Grid : Antique Market

"Located in a quiet square north of the Golden Gate (right beyond the large statue of Grgur Ninski and his famous golden toe), is the local antique market. Vendors set up shop every day in the summers and invite locals and visitors alike to peruse their trinket-laden tables for antique treasures. The modestly sized outdoor market is the perfect place to find a memorable artifact or perhaps some historic furniture to bring home." - Leslie Yeh

Having never been to Croatia, we booked this hotel based on location and reviews. It did not disappoint! Antes was a wonderful host! He guided us In via text as we drove there, met us at our reserved parking spot, helped us with our luggage, and gave us an upgrade. Our room overlooked the bell tower, which I was concerned it would be a little noisy. But the walled town settles down at night and it was beautiful to look at just outside our window. Our room was quaint and quiet. The included breakfast was wonderful. Thank you, Antes. For taking very good care of us!

Great location in historic Diocletian Palace in Split. There are two great restaurants with patio seating right outside of the hotel plus a variety of shops. The rooms are very clean and beautiful. But the stand out of the hotel is their staff; they are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. I would especially like to thank Ana at the reception desk; she provided a wealth of information for our visit and even managed getting us transport from the airport last minute, then came to the entrance to the old city to help bring in our bags. Ana is a great asset to this hotel!

This was a wonderful hotel inside Diocletian’s palace. It was so cool that some of our room walls were actually palace walls. Our room was spacious and had a very nice shower in the bathroom. The staff were amazing - very informative and helpful with bags. We had a rental car so they met us at the parking area and then helped us with our bags for the short walk to the hotel. The breakfast was terrific. The chef is an experienced baker and made special little pastries every morning too. The hotel is so well located for all the old city attractions and fine restaurants as well as boat tours for snorkeling at nearby islands. We felt treated like royalty here! Highly recommend!

Look no further this is it! We loved our stay here. Breakfast was lovely, our room was comfortable and the heated floor in the bathroom was so nice. Jan and Ana treated us like family. We are so grateful. We have already started to think about our return trip

Such a lovely experience - the location was amazing, with the whole of Old Split on your doorstep - history, places to eat and drink, shops, the seafront - it was an amazing place. We had two rooms, one overlooking the cathedral, from where we watched a wedding coming and going and all the associated celebrations.|Ante, was the most amazing host - so friendly and welcoming and going in a and out meeting a guiding guests to and from the hotel.|The rooms were huge and wonderfully appointed.|Breakfast was great, with our special diets catered for, including dairy and gluten free. Tiramisu on breakfast was a first (and it was delicious!)|Thanks for a great stay - we hope to visit again.

So cool to stay in a hotel where the room had walls of Diocletian’s palace. Room was large with a really nice shower in the bathroom. Breakfast was great and included little pastures that the chef, who is also a skilled baker, made every morning. The staff were very attentive and helpful. They met us at the parking area and helped us get our bags from the rental car to the hotel. Felt like royalty here!

Great location. Directly in the old town palace. Staff is amazing, thoughtful, and helpful. Breakfast is made to order. Staff even helped walk us down to the ferry terminal with our luggage. Highly recommended. Note because this is in the old town, you must walk your luggage in and out of the hotel and the staff is happy to help.||See review

We loved our stay at the Heritage Hotel Antique Split where the staff were all extremely helpful with suggestions and information and made for a memorable personalized experience. The hotel is a bit challenging to find so we took advantage of their offer to arrange transportation from the airport and staff met us to guide us down the narrow alleyways to the hotel.||The rooms are within the palace walls and while simple, the accommodations are very comfortable and clean and living in such a historical environment made it all very special. Breakfasts were very tasty with several options made to order. It had the feel of a bed and breakfast and we enjoyed the camaraderie with the other guests, all very friendly and eager to share tips and suggestions. We awakened to the bells from the bell tower outside our window which was a bit alarming the first morning but again, part of living in an historical old city. The hotel was definitely a good value for the experience and level of service.
