My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights (1/16/11 - 1/20/11) in a one bedroom condo on the 5th floor. It couldn't have been a more perfect stay. I loved the location, the lodge-style decor, and the amenities. The location was super convenient, only a short walk to the free bus stops and near the Gondola. We found out that the Gondola offers free rides to the public after 2 pm. Near the end of our stay, we rode the Gondola up to Eagle's Nest on Vail Mountain and enjoyed a late lunch at Bistro Fourteen.
We were fortunate to arrive on Sunday when Antlers at Vail offered free shuttle rides to the supermarket from 4 pm - 6 pm. The supermarket had everything you could possibly want and more. When you want to be picked up, you simply give the front desk a call. The Antlers at Vail staff was very helpful and friendly. $60 worth of groceries lasted us the entire stay. We did eat out a couple of times, but even one dinner at the local pizza parlor ran about $40. If you want smaller portions of packaged food, you can stop by the general store in Lionshead Village.
The condo itself was absolutely perfect. There's a bench near the door where you can sit and take off your boots and shoes. You can hang your coats, hats, and gloves on the ingeniously designed hook racks made from two old skis which are mounted parallel to the floor and above the radiator. The great thing about hanging your coats above the radiator is that it dries off the snow and keeps your coats warm when you put them on again. The living room had comfortable sofas and chairs, reading lights, and a gas fireplace below the flat-screen TV. The kitchen had an electric stove and was fully equipped with pots, pans, kitchen utensils, silverware, dishes, and appliances such as a toaster, coffee maker, and a dishwasher. There's no need to buy salt and pepper. The bathroom had ambient heated tile flooring which was really nice. The balcony had a gas grill and looked out upon the breathtaking view of the mountain, trees, and river. The entire condo was tastefully decorated with fun wooden bear lamps, art depicting trees and moose, and the queen-sized bed was covered with a nice quilt.
The lobby offers a warm fireplace, free local newspapers as well as The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. How nice is that?! Moreover, they also provide free hot chocolate, marshmallows, an assortment of teas, coffee, sugar, cream, and their own mugs (which they encourage you to take home)! I was beyond impressed. They also have an outdoor heated pool and two different hot tubs. One hot tub is larger and has a rock in the middle of it. Both hot tubs offer beautiful scenic views. The floor surrounding the pool area is also heated.
They do a fantastic job of making you feel at home here. I look forward to staying here again!
