We rented a houseboat and a jetski and it was awesome! Being out on the lake with the family was the most relaxing weekend Ive ever had. They made it easy because they had a little boat on a trailer that we could load all of our supplies onto and they took it out to the lake and drove over to our houseboat, which made it super easy to load and unload!

We had a great weekend on a houseboat thanks to Antlers! They have done extensive remodeling of their cabins, store and grounds and the houseboat was in really good shape. Wonderful customer service and a great time all around!

We camped here and will stay again on our next trip to the Lakehead/ Shasta area. Friendly staff clean sites and bathrooms. Beautiful views. Nice clean pool. Fun for the whole family.

Google
Very nice area of Shasta Lake. Only negative thing I have to say about putting your boat in at this dock is that I watched a very nice boat trying to get someone off their boat and was slammed into the dock as a boat towing flew by the area. Pulled this log out of the water so no one lost a life.

RV spots are nice and have full hookups everywhere. Camp roads are a little tricky to navigate with big RV, but still a nice escape to the woods and Lake Shasta area.

So relaxing! Antlers Resort made our trip to the lake so easy and fun ❤️

We kind of loved this campground with its rustic feeling, private sites, tons of shade, a nice pool, a store with large deck and picnic tables right on the shores of Lake Shasta! There were quite a few party groups in one section of the campground but the staff placed us in a great spot (close to the pool!!) and we couldn't hear them at all at night. The current condition of the campground is quite dilapidated, which makes the cost of $80/night for full hook up a bit cringeworthy, but I guess that's CA for ya. The playground was pretty old too and probably more fun for older kids less so for our 2 and 5 yos. They also have large houseboats for rent and a boat ramp. Lots to explore here, I look forward to coming back someday!

Google
This place is great! We were in search of a nice RV park and this place has easy access to the water, friendly staff, clean sites and good distance from neighbors. Pretty quiet area and no noise from the highway. Small little park on site for kids to play. Wish it had a bigger convenience store for last minute items. Driving to nearest store not so close. About a 10-15 minute drive back to town for market items. All spots were clean and well kept. Safe for kids to ride their bikes.

Yelp
Best campgrounds we've stayed at. Used the tent sites, & all of their tent sites were nice. Nearby restrooms 3 bathroom stalls & 3 shower stalls. There's even a laundry room. Fire pits were good too. The tent sites were SPACIOUS too I mean for my party of 6, we had 3 large tents with space & 2 trucks parked out of the way. Our site even had 2 benches. The shade provided by the trees was great, because as hot as it was, when we were present at our site we enjoyed relaxing underneath the shade. Front office staff were all very nice Saydra, Ricky & Whitney. All friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. There's also a campground store & grill. Grill food was fresh & bomb. Store part was great they carried a variety of things; ice, sunblock, water toys, camp lights, wagon, & so much more. They even have cute souvenir clothing, shirts, tanks, long sleeves, sweaters, hoodies, sun hats, sunglasses. The deck has great benches with umbrellas for shade with a great view of the lake. There's corn hole just have to ask for the bean bags. Mondays there's bingo. There's a pool 5ft. deep you have to leave a $20 deposit for the key at the front desk. Wood is cheaper here than at the Chevron. Campgrounds FAVE was the frosty (ice cream) Every morning when I went to use the bathroom, I witnessed staff cleaning the restrooms. So HUGE thank you to them for that. They even empty the trash bins throughout the day, through out the day you can catch someone on the golf cart roaming the campgrounds to make sure everything & everyone is good. There was always hot water, & cold water when needed. In the middle of the campgrounds there's a FUN playground with swings for the kids. There's even a basketball court & volleyball court too. This campgrounds is located in a great area too. Walking distance to the Antlers Marina(dock), short drive to a bunch of great swimming spots. A bit pricier than a few spots that we've stayed at but this campgrounds is WORTH IT! Definitely going to return, alsooooo upon checking out when I was at the office to double check if I needed to do anything else there was a long line in front of me of campers planning on returning too, booking their dates for 2024!!

Yelp
Great campground we were there in the off season so nice a quiet. Would definitely go back.

Yelp
RV park & pool are pretty nice. The restrooms are absolutely filthy, nit messy or from customers. They are filthy, tp paper towels stocked but floors sinks showers toilets filthy. A little spendy at 72.00 a night plus electricity. Couldn't check in to 2pm but checkout is at 10am. We did ask for a late checkout and was given till 11.00 which is what we'd originally thought for our 4 RV spots since they weren't busy at all. The patio boat was nice.

Yelp
The park has a wonderful ambiance and is nestled in pine and oak trees. Staff is friendly and helpful. Fun time with camping fishing and boating.

Yelp
Beautiful campgrounds! Doesn't matter that there's no access to the creeks or lake. There's a small 5'-1/2" pool. All the staff are so friendly. I called last minute to see if there were reservations available the guy who answered was so Friendly and made me feel so welcome over the phone! Pet friendly always a plus we can't leave our 4 leg friend home alone! Bathrooms are not bad, clean considering it's a campground. Showers have hot water. Toilets are well maintained. Campsites are raked!!! Super clean when they hand them over to you. There's a couple beautiful swimming holes near by closest one 29Mins definitely worth the drive. I would definitely return to this campground!

Yelp
What an awesome vacation we had to celebrate my daughters graduation. I rented a house boat that slept 15 people. She brought 3 of hers friends and the rest was family. We got to check in early and the teAm here at Antlers was great. Thank you John for coming back out to the boat and checking our frigid to see why it wasn't getting cold. Also thank you to the great team you have they were awesome very thankful they asked if I need held getting everything off my he house boat. You guys rock. I definitely will come back. The lake is beautiful. Maybe up grades on house boat that sleeps 19. My bad the guy with the glasses his name was Dave.

Yelp
My wife and I needed a place to park our RV for one night and stopped here based on proximity to the lake and reviews. The reviews were seriously misleading. It's sort of confusing where you need to go when you pull in. Once you are checked in it's a tight squeeze between the store and a few trees if you have a large rig The place is run down. There was even a camper on top of pallets that looked liked it came straight from the dump. Great location. Staff was super pleasant. Place needs a major make over and at $55 per night there's no reason why they should clean it up a bit.

Yelp
We had a fantastic experience at Antlers RV park. The resort does not feel "crowded" like other high-density RV resorts. There were plenty of amenities (including a pool, park, marina, and store), and quick access to Shasta Lake. Lots of hiking and biking opportunities from the campground. Easy access from the 5 freeway. Overall it was a fantastic experience for my family. I will definitely be returning.

Yelp
Pretty cool camp ground area where you can rent boats and jet skis for the lake. I wasn't there with a RV or camper but they definitely were able to accommodate them. I was there with a large group for a day outing. They have a decent amount of boats to chose from including small to pretty big ones for groups of 20 or more. The boats our group had were able to hold up to 10 people. Some had a bathroom but there was no running water just a very small toilet. The boats were easy to drive and all of the drivers had to get a quick class and briefing on what to do and what not to do as well as safety stuff. There are tons of areas to just boat around or you can "dock" the boat and enjoy the trails and wilderness. Some of our group also rented jet skis which were pretty fun. Great place for a day outing for small or large groups.

Yelp
this place is beautiful! it is laid out in such a way that there is somewhat privacy between the camps. There's lots of trees everywhere. It is not just a parking lot like Lakeshore across the street. It is owned and ran by a single guy who is just a sweetheart! Everything is in good working order, but you can tell that it's been here for a while, which actually gives it more of a homey field. The guy that runs it, Cecil is completely cool, totally fair and he looks out for his people. it is within walking distance of parts of the lake and within driving distance of some bad ass parts of the lake since I have been here I have been swimming every day there is a nice pool that is sparkling clean. There is a basketball court, a horseshoe pit, a pool table, and, as I mentioned earlier a certain amount of privacy. It is not at all like the place across the street where they cram RVs next to each other within a foot. It is so much nicer of the community. It is very quiet, here, and sort of a family field to it. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for a peaceful vacation.

Yelp
I don't normally leave yelp reviews but I just had to leave one about Antlers after the experience I just had. Recently I had acl surgery and am unable to participate in any fun water sports. This year, I decided to try kayaking but realized quickly I was unable to get myself in the kayak. We talked to the staff at Antlers, where we were camping, and they said they would take care of it. A short while later, their manager picked me up in a golf cart to avoid me having to walk, and assisted me down to their marina where they had CARRIED MY KAYAK DOWN! They put it on their jet ski launch so all I had to do was sit in the kayak as they lowered it. I was blown away. I've never had that kind of experience before. It's good to know that no matter what your ability is, and I know my leg is only temporary, they have options for everyone to enjoy the lake.

Ed R.

Yelp
Easy to reserve, check in, and find campsite. Well organized, clean restrooms and showers. It is a beautiful spot next to the lake, unfortunately the lake was down over a 100' this year, and dropping a foot a day. My only gripe was there was poison oak surrounding my hook-ups, and naturally I got it.
google avatar

Chocoron R.

Yelp
Their place has everything you need but their RVs can definitely upgraded since the shower was broken (pull lever was broken off so we had to use a tool to grab and pull) and they are just really old. But other than that, they do rent boats and has a pool and a quick easy things and food to buy.

Yelp
I went camping here this August, and the experience was fine. There is no lake or beach access from the campground since there is a cliff down to the water. That was unexpected since the map makes it seem like you can just walk to the water. Luckily, there are a ton of trees which provided necessary shade in the 100+ degrees. The quiet hours are very strict here. No music after 11pm and apparently no talking or breathing either. Golf cart Jim drives around at 11:00:00 pm waiting for his prey (aka people still awake). We were literally talking (no music) around the campfire, and he gave us a "strike," so just be aware of that if you plan on staying up late. The bathrooms were pretty gross, so bring your own soap.

Yelp
I have to leave a positive review because I've been coming here for 15+ years with my family, the staff has always been so great that you know people by name year-in & year-out, and there are so many family memories there. The sites are clean and mostly spacious. Love Sunday pancake breakfast. Marty is always friendly. We all miss Gus saying hi in the marina. We miss visiting with Virgil while he was on his security route. BUT, if I could give negative stars for the security guards they've recently hired then I would. Long gone are the days of decent humans being like Vergil who you would hug like a family member you hadn't seen in a while. These clowns they've hired now ride around in their security shirts, glaring at people, being extremely unnecessarily rude to campers and general being awful people. It's like someone told these guys that they have to keep the inmates under control. In reality your job consists of making sure everyone has a safe time and campers are courteous to each other by following rules like quiet time. These angry rent-a-cops are representing Antlers Marina and Resort and they do it in the worst way possible. The taste left in my mouth by these guys has my family and I really questioning whether we really want to come back next year and it's a shame. It's really a shame that a couple of disgruntled, downtrodden, outcast type jerks like this current "security team" are actually receiving a paycheck to represent Antlers so poorly. Makes me sick.

Yelp
We had reservations on 8/8 & 8/9, we got to our site, a car was parked there, no one at the RV Office could help us, could not find the person whose car it was. Put us into another site across from the closed pool. Left there to go to the Lake, found another place to Camp with a pool, called the Antlers office, said they would cancel & REFUND our reservation. Called today, 8/17 checking on our refund.... they tell us that no one recalls speaking to us & that they do not refund but would make an EXCEPTION to cancel 1-night!! So frustrating! We will never stay there again, they are very un-organized! We had 2 young Grandchildren with us who was looking forward to staying there again & using the pool. Mary Jo / San Diego

Yelp
Check in staff answers your questions, but does not volunteer much information about things. So, if its your first time there you will miss out on details like wifi password, dock closing time, etc. Security staff however is very friendly and will even bring you ice after hours. Basic hook-ups all worked well, but cable is only a few fuzzy channels--and no sports or news. Our (and many other) site had broken concrete slabs, easily something you could fall on. Boat dock is well maintained and you can get a key to access after they shut it for the evening. They also launch your boat for you ($45 in/out) and are prompt and courteous about it. Not their fault, but the campground is very close to train tracks and trains do go through during the night.

Yelp
I was reluctant to try this marina because of some of the negative reviews. But because they had good prices and offered half-day patio boat rentals (which is what my group of 20 was looking for) I decided to give them a try. I'm glad I did! The customer service was excellent and our entire experience could not have been better. I called ahead to see about reserving a half-day boat only to find out they only take full day reservations. No problem. I was told a boat was available and it was expected to be a slow day. We drove from Redding, the location was a little farther than I expected but not too bad. I'm amazed at how big Lake Shasta is! The boat was still available when we arrived so we took care of the necessary paperwork and then I was directed down to the dock. I had 20 people in tow who were anxious to get on the water so I was glad that the check out process was smooth and went pretty quick. Drew, who got us set up with our boat, was excellent! Very helpful and thorough. We got on the water and found a nice cove to hangout in. So much fun!! The kids had a blast using the water slide. (Be sure to get some dish soap to make the slide even faster!) After several hours on the water we got back to the dock and Drew was gracious enough to come out and take over the docking of the boat for me. Something about parking a huge flat boat among a bunch of very expensive houseboats was a little intimidating for me! We got docked, the boat got checked and the tank filled. We paid and were on our way! Our time on the boat was definitely the highlight of our Redding trip! Thank you so much!

Yelp
This really is a great place. They held my reservation for an hour and then extended a bit until I was sure I could go. Then the reservation was easy. Wonderful place in the woods to camp, far enough from highway as to not be bothered by noise. And the stars were great with much less light pollution. Definitely recommend it.

Yelp
We enjoyed our three nights at camp. Probably the busiest weekend Memorial Day. We tent camped. The store and restaurant were conveniently located. Very friendly staff. Camp sites are spacious. There was a little problem with the showers. It fluctuated hot/cold water . Never consistent temperature. There is no beach to swim from. Only water access is down the stair pathway near the marina. If you have a boat it's a great place with the marina and boat launch. The pool was cool and clean. Law enforcement cruised through a few times. Nice to know rules are enforced. Family friendly place

Yelp
I would give a zero if I could. We normally stay at Shasta Lake RV Resort & Campground but decided to splurge for my husband's birthday, use the very expensive Antlers Boat Launch and Marina next door and try this place with our RV and our adult kids and mother, 6 in total. Weeks prior my husband was finally able to contact the staff by phone to make a reservation (after leaving no less than 3 messages with no return call). He explained what weekend we were coming and staying Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. He secured space 101 and all set to go. We arrived and was rudely told that our reservation were for Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. I said "noooo, Thursday Friday and Saturday". And I was told I was wrong and the rude girl said she had repeated the dates to us and she was correct. I told her wait, I had to get my husband who was paying to have our boat launched and moored and I had to stop him if we couldn't stay (which by the way was going to cost us over $140 for 3 days...I wonder if Antlers Marina is upset about losing our business?). He came in and said "I heard there is a problem with my reservation". Once again the smart mouthed rude female attendant repeated that we were a day early and there were probably no open spaces for the night. She went on to say that she has worked there for over 10 years, make the reservations the same each time and she never makes a mistake. She kept going on and on about this was NOT her mistake and we were wrong while sitting at her desk not even attempting to look for a site. I asked her to stop lecturing us and look to see if there is a space. She said she doesn't work there to make our camping experience miserable and we had no right to have an attitude with her. I looked at my husband and said "Attitude? She hasn't seen attitude yet". She then threw her hands up in the air and said we are full and there was no space...too bad...go camp tonight across the street. We happily left and had a very nice 3 night stay at Shasta Lake RV Resort & Campground. We will NEVER spend time at Antlers and advise everyone to BEWARE of the RUDE NASTY MISERABLE employee at Antlers. I am truly sorry she hates her job; perhaps a different line of work that does not involve customer contact would be better.

Yelp
Let me first explain that there are TWO Antler's Campgrounds in Lakehead. One is at recreation.gov and has only flush toilets (where I made my first reservation), the second is the one I am reviewing. I changed our reservation because, firstly, I didn't realize there were two different camps), and secondly, I was traveling with 4 teenagers and Antlers #2 had a pool (very small for such a large campground), basketball & volleyball courts, horseshoes, and ping pong, not to mention the requisite camp store, and showers. There is no mention that you are RIGHT next to a busy train track with trains going through at all hours. UGH! When we arrived we were charged an extra $2.00 per night for the dogs I had, but they also charged an extra $4.50 for each of the teens -- per night. I could see this fee if they were adults but I am a teacher with two of my own kids and two exchange students who were no help financially, and I think this extra fee -- another $18.00 per night -- was ridiculous. They count any person over 4 as an adult. Really?! When we had to leave a day early the office staff refused to refund the extra fees -- I did not ask for the camp site fee to be refunded but I thought it was not unreasonable to ask for the $18.00 for the kids to be returned. They were uncompromising and said "Once it's in the system, it's in the system." It was a disappointment and I would not go back. The kids main complaint was that the bathroom doors didn't hide you from others in the bathroom (about 6 inches too narrow), and several of the doors locks were broken.

Yelp
My husband and I just got home from three nights staying in our trailer. The good: The hookups were great, the spot we were in was private away from other trailers, the night security staff was very friendly and did rounds frequently, the concrete slab under the trailer made it very mess-free, the office and small store were very convenient for ice and wood, the two picnic tables were clean and well kept, the fire pit was tall and well placed, and we were there off season and it was very quiet during the days with beautiful weather. The bad: The train going behind the sites is incredibly loud, it woke us up multiple times a night when we swore it was about the drive through the camp, you could see it from our site (109). There was a family of skunks that would visit at night but quickly scurried away when we would shine a flashlight in their direction. The ugly: Our entire site was surrounded by garbage. And I'm not exaggerating, bags and bags of garbage strewn about through the brush and trees about 15 feet outside of our site around the entire perimeter. We didn't see any signs warning of bears (although noticed them as we were leaving, they are small signs not easily visible) so assumed that raccoons would get into the rubbermade trash bins outside our site and create quite a mess. We went to the office our second day and made sure the office staff was aware of the mess, they made no comment and said they'd have the day grounds keeper come by. The grounds keeper came by and seemed more annoyed that we brought it up than anything else. He said he couldn't do anything to clean it up because of the brush in the way (even though we could get there personally) and he would have to get a chainsaw which he wasn't going to do while we were there. It wasn't smelly or overly bothersome so we let it go because we were having a great time overall. Last night we were sitting playing cards and heard rustling in the bushes, assuming it was the frequent visiting skunks. My husband walked around the brush and turned on the light, lo and behold it was a bear. The bear quickly ran off upon seeing us present. Shortly thereafter security came by and we alerted them to the visiting bear, just for their awareness. The security officer proceeded to inform us that the bears visited very frequently and specifically enjoyed the trash cans at our site. He said the garbage was a known issue and that the staff would go in and clean it up after it got slow for the season. I guess we should have been a bit more savvy after seeing the trash everywhere, but given that the trash wasn't in metal bins and no bear boxes were available for extra security, we assumed that it was raccoons. Who would leave Rubbermaid trash cans throughout the camp with a known bear issue? It didn't make sense to us. My overall assessment: For the office staff and day grounds keeper to be aware of an issue with garbage everywhere because of bears frequently visiting the camp and not alert us is not ok. For the office staff to be aware of the issue and not bring it up even as we asked questions is pretty despicable in my opinion. The bear wasn't aggressive and likely won't pose a threat to anyone, but I feel it is the responsibility of the staff to share information. We felt that they ignored the issue of garbage everywhere, but further than that we're deceptive in withholding information about the cause. I have never experienced such a lack of personal respect before while paying for a place to stay.

Yelp
I arrived pretty late (close to 11pm), and called the after hours number posted on the door. The camp host picked up immediately and came over to take care of me. He was very courteous, friendly, and even told me that I had confused their campground with the nearby State Park. The prices for both places were the same (they just changed to their off-season prices), so I decided to stay. Although the roads through the campground were at first a little confusing (unmarked?), I found my spot and set up a tent. Bathrooms were very accessible and kept clean. There was even a friendly night security man who came by to make sure I had everything I needed. I went for a short walk around the premises in the morning and found the place to be cozy. All the spots I saw seemed to be well manicured, free of debris and trash, and nicely separated from each other with a good bit of privacy. There's a kid's playground, and a few other fun social activities. I didn't partake because I left pretty early. I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars because there's a train nearby which isn't what you expect when trying to escape in nature -- it only came through once while I was there though. And the other reason is that there is no direct access to the lake from the campground property. I was hoping for some sort of beach so I could dig my toes in the water, but because the lake is so low, the edge of the campground is a steep dropoff to the lake. Not necessarily the fault of the campground, but just not what I was expecting. I'd stay here again!

Mojave E.

Yelp
The campground is beautiful but difficult to maneuver in to park even a small trailer. NO ONE was wearing a mask. I asked the snippy little girl in the office why no one was wearing masks. She said because it is private property they don't have to. I reminded her it was a law in public places. She said not for them!

Yelp
This was our 1st time at Antlers RV park and we were very impressed. We've stayed at couple other RV parks with access to the lake but this was really the best. Check in was easy and fast very accommodating staff. I do wish they had passed on the WiFi password upon check-in but that's an easy fix. We moored our boats there for our stay and the docks and marina were in great shape. They locked access to that area after 8pm but we were given the option of a key for 24 hr access. We didn't use it but they have launching services and cottage rentals. We were in the RV spots, full hook ups.. TV connection was minimal but honestly who goes there to watch tv? Sites were all clean and well maintained. We had some animals get into the trash cans over night, not sure some speculated it was a bear. But the mess was cleaned up 1st thing in the am. We were in a 50 amp spot with 38ft of trailer and the site #99 was definitely long and wide enough for us and 3 slides. Getting in the site is a bit challenging so bring your patience and it can be done.. so well worth it. Our friends with us rented a trailer parked next to ours. It was a bit older but clean and safe. It was all set up upon arrival with the air conditioning running, quite nice after our long drive there. We are definitely making arrangements to return next year. I think this will be our annual "go to place".. Thank Antlers for a great end of summer trip... see ya next year!

Yelp
We rented a Deluxe Patio Boat for a day on Lake Shasta. The office staff are super friendly and took their time going over the boat and helping us launch and return. There were 14 of us on the boat for about 6 hours and it was the BEST TIME EVER! This was one of the activities for our family reunion, and literally everyone used the slide and played in the water! It is not a luxurious boat, but does have a bathroom, upper sun deck and most importantly, a slide! It also comes with a giant ice chest, but no ice. The captain is shaded and there is counter space in the shade too. The negative is that due to the drought, it is a long walk from the parking lot to the marina. I think they have golf cart shuttles to help, but we carried everything ourselves. I highly recommend their Deluxe Patio Boat for a day of fun!

Yelp
We were driving through on our way up to Washington and didn't have any reservations. We came in after hours and the security guard directed us to a full hook up spot for our 37' mh. We just paid in the morning. All the camp spot are very shaded with tall trees. I can't imagine how beautiful this place would be if there was water in the lake... It's extremely low and dry up here and HOT! 105 yesterday yikes!

Yelp
Stayed at the RV park for one night as we passed through. Called ahead as we traveled on a Wednesday and made a reservation. Our initially assigned spot was already occupied, but it turned out to be for the best as we secured a better site. We had no problems with this place. There is a train that goes by periodically, which we were able to barely see through the trees behind our site. It did not bother us in our 19' Airstream trailer. Our kids actually got a kick out of it. There's a little store where we got a couple milkshakes. That always makes everyone's day. Really though, this place caters to those who are utilizing the lake. I don't know that I'd choose to stay here again if it were not to go boating or swimming in Lake Shasta. But our one night stay went just fine.

Yelp
Nice campground that is adjacent to the marina where you can rent boating equipment. The road to the camp sites are extremely bumpy and narrow. The giant motorhome probable going to have a hard time negotiating the turns and the trees. Ashley from the front office was very friendly and helpful. She recommended an awesome site for us that overlook the lake.

Yelp
My 3 star review is only because of the bathrooms/showers. The campground itself was nice, the site itself was phenomenal. We reserved a tent site, and when I called I told them there were only two of us with 1 tent. However our site has two picnic tables, space for two cars to park, and still had room for at least 3 medium sized tents. The location was also very pretty and the staff helpful. However the bathrooms themselves would make me hesitant to stay there again. The doors on the restroom stalls didn't have locks, and both the bathrooms and showers looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Not to mention all of the spiders all over the showers and ceilings. However if you are in an Rv and have your own bathroom then this place was awesome.

Yelp
We arrived after hours and just chose an empty site, registered & paid in the AM. There didn't seem to be many pull-through sites as our rig requires but we found a couple - and all we needed was one! Everyone was friendly & informative. We walked down to the 'bottom of the lake' and petted the horses grazing there. The river running through was beautiful, had Canadian geese landing around us. This park was excellent, would be too tight for a large rig though. Marylyn was very kind and told us history and about the results of the current drought. And did I say that we were able to pet the horses? I'd stay here again, no question. The 4 stars were only because it can't accommodate large rigs.

Yelp
If you have ever considered fleeing your home for foreign lands and would like to know what it is like to live in a refugee camp then boy do I have the place for you!!! We wanted to take in beautiful M. Shasta vistas and experience warm summer nights on the lake and what did we find instead? The need to dust masks to tolerate the thick smoke and ash in the air, a lake that is 90 feet low and counting, and a fully packed sardine can like atmosphere complete with a group of idiots dancing on their parked boat at 11pm with the strobe lights (yes, this boat seemed to have strobe lights) going and an obviously VERY underage girl experiencing her first keg stand. Now I am not against the occasional keg stand- but while I am trying to view what few stars I can see through the smoke and enjoy the tranquil sounds of nature- I can do with out the loud "whoo hoos!" coming from 20 feet away. There did seem to be some better spots located in the back upper ring, but obviously those were long ago reserved. The people were nice enough and the pool was refreshing so I would give this place 2 stars. If headed up that way though I would totally recommend the Antlers State Recreation Campground next door- much bigger spots and way more privacy. I can't say if they would be strobe light free- but gosh, I would sure hope so!

Yelp
What is the deal with this place. They don't ever, I mean ever answer their phone. And don't return emails. How convenient, since they require a 45 day notice to cancel a reservation, but don't return calls in time. And now their voicemail box is full. Not the kind of place I want to visit.

Yelp
Come here every winter. Quiet and nice. We hope it will always be here/available. Kind of our tradition every winter as we enjoy the location and solitude. Yes trains run by here at any given time but that's part of the experience in our opinion.

Yelp
This was a nice place w/a great staff. The sites were huge and spread apart properly. Bathrooms were nice for us ladies at least. The set up of the grounds is a bit confusing but still nice. You have access to ping pong tables, a horse shoe pit and a pool. They provide nightly activies such as bingo and movie night. Very nice. Problems I found, it is right next to the Railroad tracks so we could clearly hear the train whistle blowing thru the night. Not such a get-away when your husband is a train engineer himself. :D And there was no beach access for those w/o boats. Neither the fault of the campgrounds though. For the other reviewers saying that there were loud partiers; I have learned that NO MATTER where you camp anymore you have to go on the weekdays to avoid that type of situation.

Yelp
We stayed here is a 5th wheel back in June. It was THE hottest weekend in June. Needless to say we stayed inside our trailer most of the weekend. We did enjoy the mornings and the walk down to the marina with our two dogs. The water was low so it was a bit of a walk to the water, but that wasn't the fault of the park. We drove to Shasta Lake and looked around. The docents there were really nice and let us bring our dogs in from the heat. The park employees seemed attentive and the park appeared well-maintained, though I did not venture to use the restrooms or shower since we had no need to use the public ones. We also took advantage of the Sunday pancake and bacon buffet (very cheap) and the young men running it were very attentive and polite. It was well-done, but get there early!

Yelp
Jake McCracken has been doing great work, I'm glad he's working here. Definitely the best worker there couldn't be more happy with the way it worked out.

Yelp
Another great camping trip here. We have seen this property go through three owners. We are very happy with the upkeep of the property and all the facilities. The staff have always been great and continue to be so! The ability to rent a boat slip during that time makes this place perfect! My only complaint would be as to the security that used to drive around the campground. Yes, I am at the very old age of 51 and greatly appreciate my sleep after a day of wakeboarding. I like to party, BBQ and have my radio on but when I am trying to go to sleep at 12:00 am and the neighbors are still going it is VERY annoying. Security used drive around and ask campers to keep it down after 10:00 pm. That doesn't seem to be the case. No, it is not going to deter me from coming back, I will just pack some Tylenol PMs! We will be back next year!

Yelp
I take exception to D.L's negative comments about Antlers RV Park & Campground. For over 18 years we stay annually at Antlers Resort which is next to the campground (they have cabins). I don't every recall Antlers claiming a view of Mt. Shasta! If you request a view of the lake it is excellent, expecially in the spring time. One must realize that the lake is intended to store water for Southern California and after the winter run off the lake is usually close to the top, if not so. That is why we always stay for the month of May. If you know the lake there isn't a better place in the state to fish. As for thick smoke and ash in the air and the late hour noise I suspect D.L. had an unusual experience. We know the owners of the campground very well, I can assure you that they have rules that require residents of the campground to miminize unnecessary noise after 10:00 PM. Campfires are restricted by the US Forest Service and limited to protected areas. We walk the roads in the campground every day and I never experienced thick smoke. During the Memorial Day weekend many college student rent houseboats and load up on beer and play loud music aboard. However, they are not allowed to tight up at the Marina. These activities can be annoying to boaters who are on the lake at the time and usually they avoid being around them. They are under constant observation of the Sheriff Patrol and are instructed to moor away from resorts. Yes, the lake does go down in the late summer and fall and if boating is your first priority you should consider going in the spring or early summer. The scenery along the shoreline is spectacular! Antlers RV Park & Campground is an outstanding place to relax with all the aminities one would expect in a campgound. If you have a concern it should be addressed to the management whom I guarantee would go out of their way to please you. A.J.G

Yelp
Super friendly office staff. Great site with plenty of room. Second night, we were awoken in the middle of the night, 3:20 am to be exact, with the loudest shouting and screaming we have ever heard. There was a family with trailer and 2 tents. It went on for approximately 15 mins. Think there should be some rules re quiet time. Boy, were they going at it. Then, we heard truck starting up and driving away, repeat. At last, all was quiet. Great place for boat owners or groups that can use party boats

Yelp
We arrived very late at night and the security guy Virgil was very helpful. He helped us find a campsite and got us some firewood! We stayed for 2 days and were happy both days. The campsite has running water, a pool, laundry and has showers that are free. We had a great time camping here and would recommend staying here.

Yelp
My family started camping at this campground in the mid 70s. Since 2003 I have been camping here 2 weeks in June and 2 weeks in August. The staff and the owners have always been very helpful and considerate. Very recently the campground was taken over by the person who owns the rights to the Antler's Marina and Cabins. Yes there are trains that occasionally pass by but that usually lasts only a couple of minutes. The bathrooms are kept! The night security guard patrols on a regular basis and will bring wood and ice to your site for the same price as if you purchased it at the store. This is a family friendly campground. I think it is reasonable to expect quiet time to start around 10:00 PM. When you have large group it's only natural to get a little loud when you are having fun. Those same people should also realize other campers may not have the same agenda at midnight. The fees are posted on the website and should be no surprise to anyone. I don't know of any campground that doesn't have a multiple fee schedule. As to the phone call returns and email responses, I think that issue has been resolved. These folks deal with a lot. I have recommended this campground to many people over the years and no one has come back to me with a bad experience. Think about this...you can always tell how bad off someone is by what they complain about.

Yelp
well we got there lady at the desk gives us the camp spot, can't read any of the signs thru out the park,so we can't find 7 so we park in the next one,get all set up after long day of driving, camp guy in cart comes and says we're in wrong spot,i tell him ask the lady to change us,we are handicaped and very tired, she refuses, he come back with a coupon for ice cream, top it off the people never show, the store has one dozen eggs and a stick of butter, thats it,i would never stay there again,to get into pool need 5 bucks, can't use debit in store or snack bar so you must have cash, 50 bucks for this ,look for another joint

Yelp
This place is not worth the money. They charge $4 per night for 4 years and over. The place was full of Poisen ivy so this place is not safe at all for kids. They have a pool inside of the campground but you have to pay extra just to swim. The play ground is so old it looks like it well fall apart anytime soon( unsafe for kids) the volley ball court is so small and there is tree and big rocks all around the court. We also rented a patio boat for a day for $475. When we arrive there they also wanted a $475 deposit but in there policy online and what they sent us on our email never mention anything about a deposit. We talk to them about that and they agree to not charge the extra $475 deposit. This place is unorganized and they don't tell you anything until you get there. They charge us extra $100 for gas for the boat which they never mention online or in there policy. This is the first time a campground is so disappointed. I guess that's why the place is so quiet and not a lot of people there at all. First and last time we we'll be there for good!
