Anton Valley Hotel

Overall I recommend this hotel. We stayed in a family suite with one bedroom with a queen bed and one room with bunk beds. There is one bathroom, living room and huge kitchen. It has a lodge feel. The staff was helpful with our luggage, with bus directions to local sights and even dealing with a broken glass. We ate at Brushetta three times (despite our kitchen, we will get to that). The food was slightly overpriced but tasty. The room was clean but I think the staff only cleans it when you request it. We asked for extra towels - delivered right away, broken glass - cleaned up right away no charge. The tvs worked well with tons of kid channels and the neighborhood was very safe. Easy to get to all local sights by 25 cent bus ride. Also quiet room and street. |OK the negatives: didn't always have hot shower, the "pool" is a large cold hot tub, kitchen has only a hot plate which I could not even boil water with. There was a very strange assortment of kitchen dishes and utensils; but when I asked for salad "plates" (my poor Spanish) they brought bowls right away. If I was planning on staying longer I would have made an inventory of kitchen items to request and I feel they would have supplied what they could. ||We have been staying in hotels in Panama City and this hotel is on par with places there.

Attractive small hotel in the town with very helpful staff and nice restaurant with pleasant and peaceful gardens. Our room was very very very small but clean and the bed comfortable with a good hot shower. Some staff were very shy in explaining things in the restaurant.||But the staff were very helpful when we wanted to move rooms due to power cut. We cannot praise the staff enough but the rooms need a bit of investment and looking after.

We were not impressed with this hotel. The first room we were given overlooked a yard with a constantly barking dog tied up next to a dog carrier... we asked to be moved and we were graciously accommodated, which we appreciated. However the new room had other issues. Most of the light fixtures were non-functional, with either burned out or completely missing bulbs. The TV remote also wasn't working. The bathroom had sharp-edged decorative tile around the commode that hurt our feet, we needed to use a towel there to provide some cushioning. ||||The restaurant was convenient but just OK. Dinner was pretty good but the server at breakfast had an attitude - I think we made her go to work earlier than she wanted? Beware if your Spanish is limited! Both our dinner and breakfast meals were missing items listed on the menu, when we tried to point this out to our breakfast server we were given a blank look along with a distinctly "so what?" attitude...||||With the location and charm that this hotel is capable of, it wouldn't take that much to make it better. It could be really top-notch with a bit more attention! Since it seems this hotel is nearly always booked, the owners ought to put some of their profits into some much-needed improvements.

We really enjoyed this hotel. The beds are a little old and the hot/cold water on the showers was very inconsistent; however, we aren't sure if the water issues are due more to the rural area than to anything the hotel could control. The staff was kind and helpful. The massages were okay. The surroundings are incredible!

Centrally located. Nice breakfast included. Cute small pool for kids. Bruschetta restaurant attached was amazing! Rooms were nice and we had a queen and 2 twin beds. Walking distance to store and bakery town shops and some sights.

Whats to say... we spent one night at the Anton Valley Hotel. It‘s not bad, but it‘s definitively not great either.|Our room was small-ish, the bathroom was tiny. There was a fridge with some minibar-list next to it but it was empty.||We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. The service was friendly. The food was... lets say the sandwiches seemed good and we liked the breakfast, but the grill plates we had in the evening unfortunately were not that good.||Undortunately neither the staff of the hotel nor the restaurant spoke english. I totally get that we are in a foreign country and we tried with our very limited spanish as good as we could. Anyway, i would LIKE it, if the staff at a touristic facility (like a hotel) spoke a bit more english.||As I said, not bad, but also not the best we ever experienced. For a 1 night stay: totally acceptable.

We won 1 nights accommodation with them. We arranged and confirmed a month before. The morning of our arrival I messaged were a few hours away and were excited. To hear they're closed. They didn't feel the need to let their guests know they're closed. No alternative option as we drove 5 hours to get there, nothing. Couldn't care less about us. Drove past the place and OMG. So neglected and dirty from the outside, doesn't look like the pictures at all. Probably best we didn't end up staying there. Horrific service and attitude to attention to guests.

The bathroom was really dirty, there was hair everywhere. The water in the shower suddenly gets really hot or cold, not comfortable at all. The room itself is fine but it could be more clean in my opinion. There’s also a lot of noise in the hallway from the restaurant and kitchen, which is located next to some of the rooms. The swimming pool is rather strange, it’s located right next to the parking lot, it’s really small and there’s no room to sit and relax. I looks more like fountain to me than a swimming pool. There’s a sauna (kind of) as well, also located next to the parking lot.
