I am so glad I had researched dining options before we arrived in the Philippines. We only stayed 2 nights in Alfonso, and this meal was a highlight of our stay! The building and grounds are beautiful, and the atmosphere is of quiet elegance. Service is attentive, friendly and helpful, but never made us feel rushed.
The food is uniformly delicious, beautiful and generous in proportion. I had never had Beef Wellington in a restaurant (a daughter-in-law prepares a delicious one each year at family reunions) and our family one compares very well. It was cooked to perfection and the au jus took it over the top! My husband's duck breast was similarly presented and tasty.
I wish I had remembered to read my notes to myself before arriving, as I had noted that we should arrive early to enjoy cocktails at the bar in the garden. What a gorgeous space, and so expansive! If we are ever in this part of the country again, we are definitely returning to Antonio's.
