You stay here for a while, and you are protected, you are catered to, and your room is respected. This place is very clean, very awesome and is run by a good man named Sam.
Live/Stay here weekly, daily or monthly. I only marked with one $ because there are different prices, even for limited budgets, because the rooms are different as Sam will show you.
I think all the rooms have bathrooms, if not a lot of them do, there's a lot of options for types and prices of rooms. But what's nice is if you're staying with someone and gotta do something early the next day, there's two bathrooms on both floors, one with a big shower, and one with just a toilet and a sink. Pio, who is basically a restless friendly butler who wears funny t shirts, always greets you in the hallway.
There's a porch outside with two benches (an addition Sam had told us about and followed through with) And just inside a 24-hour Laundry room that has a big two basin kitchen sink and a 4 range top cooking oven. Everything is usually clean even when I have a feeling some people don't leave it that way. (It's a mix of temporary visitors and quiet and cautiously friendly residents, the residents clean up after themselves).
There's free wifi that you can get from the porch via McDonalds, but as we found out you'll see that there's routers all over the hotel, I think there's like 5 signals to jump from, just get the password from Sam and you are speeding along. In April 2012 the owner completely upgraded the wifi because it wasn't working for a while. When I moved out he was about to start changing the password on a regular basis to lure away leachers, he was really on top of it. The new system he upgraded to is super super super fast.
This is a phenomenal location if you are on a tight budget and need to not think about money for a while. Food for Less, quite a few dollar stores, clothing stores (cheap and as well as upscale), tons of cheapy gift shops, King Taco, KFC, open-late(if not all night) liquor store, a nearby 24 hour pawn shop(with everything for work and play), subway station two streets south. There's a Walgreens opening soon that's one street north, one street west. I feel safe as hell during the day, but I'm sure you little people (I'm a big tall dude) will as well. I almost want to say how safe i feel at night, but like anywhere in LA, just be alert and realistic.
The only thing that's not giving this place 5 stars is that there's no visitors, i feel guilty putting that in this review but that is the rule and you should know it. It doesn't count if your visitor is staying in their own room though.
