Stay Review - Chinatown - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Stay is a non-alcoholic bar that pours drinks everyone can get into, including your friend who enjoys two martinis at dinner. A big part of that has to do with the incredible venue. Located inside Chinatown’s Central Plaza, drinks in this dark lounge feels like you’re stepping into a neon-lit Wong Kar-wai film. The illuminated bar looks like a glowing temple, and there are various comfy couches to sink into with your fancy juice. Or at least that’s an accurate description for some of the mocktails, others genuinely taste like booze—like the smoky Tiger with “tequila,” pineapple juice, and a splash of green tabasco (it’s all the burn minus the buzz). At roughly $20 per cocktail, though, a night here might be a tough sell unless most people in your group are sober. For a spot in the area that serves a mix of boozy and non-alcoholic drinks,   is a great option a short walk away." - Sylvio Martins

Excellent cozy hotel. Very clean and friendly reception. Taco place beside it is great for late night snack. Friendly neighbourhood! Good budget hotel for family.

Google
Quite excellent indeed. Superb service and well employed individuals. Located in an incredible area. Very well cleansed and smelled like a lingering odor of homemade cookies. Not a speck of filth. No, only specks of clean. The shower was better than that of my own home. The toilet seat was very comfortable as if it came from the heavens. Well decorated as if Nate Berkus designed it himself. A little too expensive though but worth the price. I HAD THE BEST NIGHTS REST KNOWN TO MAN!!!! STAY HERE.

Google
Terrible from beginning to end. When you get there having paid online they spring a cash only $20 deposit and then refuse to give you a receipt for said deposit. When you complain the lady tells you to call you travel agent and cancel. Well my travel agent tried calling the hotel doesn't pick up. At least 3 smoke alarms are going off at any one time for low battery. Graffiti in the rooms/bathrooms. Then, middle of an LA El Nino rain storm the heater does not work. When I complained about this they told me to cancel my booking.. They know everyone staying here is desperate or can't find another room on short notice.. No heat is disgusting I'm in an urgent care because the room was cold enough to flare my asthma up.. this is dreadful and I'm staying here so I can start a new job tomorrow morning and be close to my new job..

Google
One star does not describe the level of this place! Can we give zero? Dirty showers (hair from last person), floors not vacuumed, loud constriction in the lobby early in the morning and very unsafe neighbourhood. Felt like we needed to lock ourselves in and had a very disturbed night. Do yourself a favour and just pay the money for a better hotel!

Google
DON’T BOOK THIS HOTEL! Unless you like living with cockroach, holes in bedding, sticky floor and feeling that someone will enter your room and will shoot you. Seriously, this room had never seen a housekeeper… in The night you can hear shooting noises and really strange sounds. This is mexican distric, so if you are a white person you have to get used to being observed and uncomfortable feeling. In addition, if you come 10 miniutes before check in, don’t you think that you will be able to go to your room. This man will count seconds for you, but to be honest better for you to stay in a lobby. For sure, the worst hotel I have ever been.

Google
I reserved my room for a 3 night stay and received confirmation to check in at 2 including my receipt of payment. Upon arrival I was told that I did not have a reservation and that they could not assist me in any way. It was terrible, I had nowhere to stay and was short $400. If they are no longer accepting reservations they need to communicate that instead of just taking peoples money.

Ry B

Google
It's good for the price only 20 dollars deposit cash don't use credit here, you can't bring a 20. I like Netflix and Hulu options cable too. One of the best features. If you're with more than one person it's a small room so be prepared .

Google
Went here so we didn’t have to drive home after drinking. Even drunk you would not want to stay at this hotel. Soon as we walked up to the room, we looked at it and walked right back down. Would not give us our money back. We ended up leaving anyways because it was so nasty and not under any conditions to sleep in. It looks like they do not clean this hotel at all. It smells like they do not clean this hotel at all and the parking is nonexistent. They have no public parking.

Yelp
Shower didn't work, Paint slapped over everything Beds rock hard Terrible area, worst hotel I've ever been in

Yelp
Booked a room through Hotels.com, arrived to Hotel, they said," didn't get the reservation, and asked me to call hotels.com and tell them to resend reservation. I called hotels.com, the rep was on the phone with me and hotel. Management for an hour, in which the rep on the phone, resent multiple times my reservation, I gave them my reservation #. And yet still maintained, that it never and was not coming in, they never found my reservation, were rude, and kept wanting to charge me teg walk in price of $120. I had prepaid my stay for $61. And there's barely any parking in a very narrow parking lot. Definitely not recommending the Antonio Hotel, it's not in a good part of town either. Rude staff. I feel they " couldn't see my reservation " so they could charge me double what I paid on hotel.com. would certainly NOT RECOMMEND ANTONIO HOTEL.

Yelp
Please don't book here, extremely dirty, no shampoo or conditioner no parking awful service

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed two nights here in early October. We sort of knew what we were expecting with the reviews being what they are but it was a last minute decision and to be honest, was at first better than what we expected. But then we ran into some problems pretty fast. The room was just okay. The floor was sticky, some stains on the sheets and scratches on the wall. The shower curtain was also a little dirty but we were relieved there was at least no bed bugs or roaches the other reviews mentioned! The bathroom was also extremely tiny and in order to use the toilet, we had to lean to the side because the sink and toilet was so close together there was no way to just sit there comfortably. The parking area was tight and depended on what the owner decided (if there was enough space or not since I assume they park their cars there as well) and we ultimately had to park a few blocks away for both of the nights. At night though, we saw that they actually lock the parking area so we're not sure how those who were parked could get in or out at night. It turned even more chaotic as the nights went on. My boyfriend tried to do laundry but ran into some sketchy people who were I could only assume were drug users or sex workers despite the no additional guest rule and the owner was pretty confrontational when my boyfriend asked for change for the laundry. The entire place also smelled heavily like weed despite the no smoking signs. I dropped my phone between the bed and the wall on the first night and when my boyfriend moved the bed, we found a couple of dried dead bugs, a little trash, and dust. The area was okay. Some nice and nearby (walkable) restaurants nearby like King Taco and other little shops. It was still anxiety inducing to leave the car overnight on the street though. On the very last night, we heard a dripping noise coming from the very tiny bathroom- Only to see a weird looking yellow liquid falling from the vent onto the floor and to this day, have no idea what it was and avoided the bathroom area while checking out. Overall, it could've been worse but I can say I won't be back unless I had no other choice. If you're thinking of staying, all I can say is to proceed with caution.

Yelp
Such a piece of work. matter of what. that's exactly what it does needs.' a lot of work. the rooms and common areas are so filthy dirty. the prices they be charging are more than some of these luxury 4/5 star hotels. they don't offer a remote control for the parking gate. gotta call the front desk everytime to open the gate.! The management office doesn't speak any English. The younger Indian girl is very mean and bossy. the manager train her employees better. she was yelling at me, following me the hotel room screaming to pay her in cash for late check out. But nobody told me that late checkout is cash. I don't carry cash on me like that anymore. I told her to charge my card and she refused. Pressuring me to use their atm machine. I don't see any sign that says cashh only. What kinda hotel accepts card for booking the room on a website but won't use the same method of payment for the late checkout fee?!! At the end of the screaming match, she ended up telling me she's gonna charge me extra since I refuse to pull cash out of the shady atm machine. i got a headache minutes later. At the end of the day. The screaming match was totally avoidable because they ended up swiping my card anyway LOL don't go there. Save yourself the hassle I swear

Yelp
Stay away from this place!!! The employess are the worst. They are rude and ignorant; please save your money. I called to ask a question, and the worker started yelling at me and clicked on me twice. Please do not stay at this horrible hotel!!! Its the worst custumer service in town!! Unless you wanna get yelled at!! Plus they do not wash the bedsheets after every guest staying and they have had bed bugs and roaches in the past!

Mili C.

Yelp
So scary!! I booked for two weeks. (a few months ago) First week in, I hear a squad of police barging into the hotel with guns trying to arrest one of the people staying there. The room they were targeting was really close to mine so I could hear everything! I think the person got away somehow probably through a window . for two hours all I hear is sirens and helicopters circling the area. I was so scared literally lying flat on the floor in case anybody decided to shoot. I'm not a scaredy cat but I was sooo scared the rest of the days. Counting down the days to leave after that. Another incident happened a few days later I don't remember what but I do remember getting in the floor again. I would never go back there!!!!

Yelp
This god awful hotel is not worth any amount of money. They hold your car hostage in their gated off parking lot, making it very difficult to leave or enter, having to ask for the gate to be opened any time you enter or exit. They refuse to give any kind of refunds, so don't even risk giving this hotel a dime. The bed is very stiff and cheap, feels like cardboard, the bathroom towel hanger was broken, and you get a nice view of the mcdonalds across the street where people park and can look right into your window. This place really needs to be demolished and built over with a new hotel, under different management because it is decrepit, old, stinks, and has very negative energy. I do not know how the general manager sleeps at night knowing that all his existence amount to is running the most disgusting and worst hotel in all of LA.
google avatar

Carlos Gabriel C.

Yelp
I discovered a roach in my room. Their electrical outlets cause computer devices to malfunction, disabling the fingerprint authentication feature. The Wifi infects devices with malware, preventing them to retaining their connection to the internet
google avatar

Angela N.

Yelp
I don't understand how this hotel says it practices cleanliness when the room I was in was nasty. Also, there is absolutely no parking offered but the street. This is LA and it is very impossible to find parking on the side of the street. And there is a parking lot, however the owners choose to use it for themselves. And they only offer 2 towels! No wash cloths or no floor towel. Never will I stay here again

Yelp
I am speechless about my recent stay...I was laying nude with my window open beating my dong like it owes me money when a pervert started looking at me...So after I shot my shower rocket and tried to nap the woman next door was getting pounded like veal ...The volume on the tv got stuck on high when I was watching the nude all mens asian jumping jack Olympics
google avatar

Yelp
Better than most other options in the area. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, had a fridge, bathroom with shower. Only saw a few baby roaches. Mc Donald's next door. Bus stop on corner to Union Station and downtown. Walgreens is a block away. No remote for the TV.

Yelp
My plans to stay in Los Angeles changed a week ago. I have contacted the property via phone and email to cancel my reservation. Tonight I received an email stating that they couldn't charge my card. Well duh. I purposely didn't leave enough funds on the card that I used to book the the room. Being hung up on when I called and no response to my emails clued me in that this place is not reputable or honest. I will now be contacting my bank for a new credit card as they're obviously trying to commit fraud. Definitely would NOT recommend this place.

Macciel C.

Yelp
Check in was quick I had to do a 20$ deposit which I didn't know about I wanted to go to the bank atm was there lady point at it. Overall I been here before many years ago they did remodel the rooms which I'm very happy about just kept old furniture which is okay I was very impressed how clean it was. It's cheap! Also highly recommend just bring cash if something happens

Yelp
If you want a no-nonsense, cheap hotel that's conveniently located close to Union Station, this fits the bill. As someone who has had to dig around for good prices in the area frequently, Antonio has consistently been one of the most economical options. My biggest concern for cheap hotels like this is cleanliness, and on my visits, the sheets and mattress have always been acceptable and decently comfortable. You are provided with two towels (both shower-sized) and several small toiletries, including soap and shampoo. The AC works, and the shower heats up quickly. There is also a working TV. Check-in is readily available 24-7, which is convenient. As expected, the place is not perfect. The remote control did not work, and the surroundings aren't the best. There also isn't drinking water readily available, which is annoying--we handled this by filling up water bottles at the McDonald's nearby. My biggest piece of advice, though, is not to attempt sleeping on the floor; you will be bitten! If you want to save a dollar and aren't too particular about living in a fancy place, give it a try!

Yelp
Booked a two night stay, 150$, downs: no parking, some weird people outside, ugly dirty carpet and it smelled of cigarettes, small non luxurious room. The guy in the front was ok...not rude like the comments people say. Cons: cheap...A/C and cable TV. I would save up for my next trip and get a nicer hotel.

Yelp
You stay here for a while, and you are protected, you are catered to, and your room is respected. This place is very clean, very awesome and is run by a good man named Sam. Live/Stay here weekly, daily or monthly. I only marked with one $ because there are different prices, even for limited budgets, because the rooms are different as Sam will show you. I think all the rooms have bathrooms, if not a lot of them do, there's a lot of options for types and prices of rooms. But what's nice is if you're staying with someone and gotta do something early the next day, there's two bathrooms on both floors, one with a big shower, and one with just a toilet and a sink. Pio, who is basically a restless friendly butler who wears funny t shirts, always greets you in the hallway. There's a porch outside with two benches (an addition Sam had told us about and followed through with) And just inside a 24-hour Laundry room that has a big two basin kitchen sink and a 4 range top cooking oven. Everything is usually clean even when I have a feeling some people don't leave it that way. (It's a mix of temporary visitors and quiet and cautiously friendly residents, the residents clean up after themselves). There's free wifi that you can get from the porch via McDonalds, but as we found out you'll see that there's routers all over the hotel, I think there's like 5 signals to jump from, just get the password from Sam and you are speeding along. In April 2012 the owner completely upgraded the wifi because it wasn't working for a while. When I moved out he was about to start changing the password on a regular basis to lure away leachers, he was really on top of it. The new system he upgraded to is super super super fast. This is a phenomenal location if you are on a tight budget and need to not think about money for a while. Food for Less, quite a few dollar stores, clothing stores (cheap and as well as upscale), tons of cheapy gift shops, King Taco, KFC, open-late(if not all night) liquor store, a nearby 24 hour pawn shop(with everything for work and play), subway station two streets south. There's a Walgreens opening soon that's one street north, one street west. I feel safe as hell during the day, but I'm sure you little people (I'm a big tall dude) will as well. I almost want to say how safe i feel at night, but like anywhere in LA, just be alert and realistic. The only thing that's not giving this place 5 stars is that there's no visitors, i feel guilty putting that in this review but that is the rule and you should know it. It doesn't count if your visitor is staying in their own room though.

Yelp
The cheapest hotel in LA but the have private parking and the attention is excellent! The hotel is next to MCDonalds and very close from little Tokyo! The queen bed is good for one person but for 2 is uncomfortable. The bathroom is very small, it doesn't bring dryer but it has heater. The room doesn't have mini bar but down in the lobby there is a microwave, kitchen and washing machine too!
google avatar

Bianka P.

Yelp
If I were able to give this hotel a zero star, I would! If you plan on having guest over, I would highly recommend for you to find a different place. The owner let's 18 year olds stay in a hotel and ONLY accepts cash no card!! So there's no record! Then I brought a guest just to use the restroom and she said I had to give her an extra $50 in CASH to let my guest use the restroom. She was not wearing a mask and she was extremely rude. This place has the WORST customer service I would NEVER recommend staying here!
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
I thought I knew what I was getting into. Yep, a cheap motel won't have shiny extras. Just the basics like a TV, mini-fridge, shower. The parking was not adequate since it could not fit my Honda CR-V, but I let that go. What finally drove me to write this review was the unexpected guests that I found in bed with me. BED BUGS! I caught one and took pictures in case I have to show someone. Those little suckers ate me alive! I went to the front desk at 1am to get another room, but there was nobody there. I finally had to pay 300 bucks to stay at another hotel that night! When I called Antonio Hotel in the morning they weren't helpful at all and still charged me for the night that I had to leave because of the bed bugs! The person who answered the phone seemed to not believe me at all that he had an infestation. I had over 100 bites on my body! (I also have pictures of the bites) What made me so disappointed with the hotel was their reaction to my situation. It's like they did not care at all.
google avatar

Allan T.

Yelp
If they tell you too park at the McDonald's don't!!! I have seen lots of cars being towed away!!
google avatar

Nina S.

Yelp
THIS SHOULD BE A ZERO STAR REVIEW - Horrible place! Horrible customer service! Dirty, no parking on site at all and it took 3 hours to find parking on the street. Our car was graffitied over night because it's in a horrible sketchy area as there was a beer can next to my car door. My dog stepped in the freshly painted graffiti and got it all over his paws and fur then my favorite sweater! I had forgotten my medication in the fridge on accident because I was exhausted from the prior night of looking for parking so I called them and asked if they could hold it for me in the fridge because it's an expensive medication and needs to stay cold. This medication is a $300 medication and they told me no that they can't hold it and I shouldn't have left it and the threw it away! I can NOT believe these crappy people, I hope karma comes back around for them real soon. I should have looked at the reviews before booking...

Yelp
Joseph L. Damiano 1/5 3 days ago on Google, 12 November 2018 @ 1:00 PM Pacific Time...on Veterans Day... The desk clerk spoke 'Farsi & lucid Eapanol"', his ethnicity I believe is from India or may have been from Pakistan. This man lies like a stale smelly rug. My good friend, a motel/hotel supervisor works for a group of foriegn investors that own a lot of high end Hotels, my friend Mr. G., used his personal credit card to pay for my room for a few nights because his hotels were booked up. at this place called the Antonio Hotel. The male desk clerk had a power Trip because I appear to be white, I guess! He did not treat me like he treated the Hispanic couple or the single male Pakistan day laborers, he basically was trying to ensure I paid him a $350.00 non-refundable deposit on top of the three nights which are also non refundable. Not only did I never get to check in, being as patient as a Saint, this old body of a former US Iraq War Veteran @ 58 years young was refused service & check in because I was the only White man who does not speak his native tounge or Spanish! Talk about being racist, and disregarding my fundamental rights as an American citizen! From only me, he did not ask the Spanish couple who spoke only Spanish for the deposit! I wrote to the Hispanic couple using Google Translate and stated a question regarding what the desk clerk was trying to charge or do to me and asked them if he was charging a $350.00 non refundable deposit and the couple said NO, NO, on Google translate, I even tried to speak to him using Google translate to speak to him in Farsi, but he demanded English, damn I thought I was living in America! I speak American not English, I am not from England nor do I care to speak their silly English! I really wanted to tell him this but I bit my tounge and was polite. I wish I could have said "I speak American which is a soup of all of the European countries, parts of Russia, India, the middle Eastern countries Africa all of the Asian countries plus South American countries and Native American roots or ontologies combined!" I wish I did say that for the amount of $credit/cash$ my good friend just wasted! This bigot racist behind the front desk was a real jerk. He is a complete liar. I suggest to anyone, Do Not Book A Room At the Antonio Because You Will NOT Get A Refund! I want to let everyone know do not waste your money on what looks like a slice of heaven, it is a slice of hell instead! JoJo Damiano, 12 November 2018 Happy Veterans Day!

Yelp
Ok so check in early roughly 2am had to pay extra fee that was above the normal rate. Made several calls about noise complaints, and they fails to respond to the noise in the building. Upon entering my room a plate of food was left in the fridge the sink was and probably still is clogged
google avatar

Danyelle J.

Yelp
Well you get what you pay for and a little more(bed bug bite on face). I came to LA to stay with a family member who never showed to pick me up from airport so I had to stay at the cheapest place and still manage to enjoy my stay. The room was small, musty and not even worth $50 (paid more). Definitely a last resort, few hour stay type of place. Floors were bumpy and unleveled, doors were loud and you could hear people in and out all night. Never again will I subject myself to such conditions. Got no sleep
google avatar

Mark G.

Yelp
the worst place I've ever stayed at. The rooms have a disgusting smell. The bathroom is dirty. Parking is only limited and the neighborhood is very bad for parking on the streets, believe me. I stayed for 2 nights and I'm glad I' not staying a third.
google avatar

Abby A.

Yelp
I've never stayed at a worse place. In town one night for the LA Marathon. No parking. Broken bed box. Hard bed. Dirty sheets not visible but was itchy all night and did not smell fresh. Bugs around sink. Roach in the bathroom. Floor of room uneven. Very thin walls. Yes only $60 but I would just pay an extra $10 and a motel 6 or 8 would have looked like a 5 star hotel compared to this. Never again. Please be WARNED!!!!!

Maynard L.

Yelp
I wish I can give this 0 stars, this is literally the worst hotel I have ever experienced. The lobby is disgusting and the "front desk" is just the owner's house with a window connecting to the hotel so he can work from home. He is very unprofessional and doesn't know what he is doing. I wanted to cancel my 2nd day because of how disgusting my room was and he told me he couldn't help me because it was late (he just wanted to sleep, he was in his boxers while talking to me). I come back the next morning to cancel and he proceeds to tell me he cannot refund me when in the cancellation policy it says he can. He does not know his own policies and he his very rude. The room is infested with cockroaches and the sink is in the same room where you sleep which also had cockroaches. The bed had hairs and stains all over it. The doors scarped against the hardwood floors. The bath is absolutely disgusting. The screen on the window is broken. The smoke alarm beeps every 5 minutes. The parking lot is so small that my honda civic barely even fits in the driveway and you have to get out of your car and walk to the desk to ask for the gate to be opened every time you want to come back in. Literally the worst hotel ever and overpriced for such bad hospitality. Never come to this "hotel" for your own sake.

Jana L.

Yelp
Was clueless how to get into the front door.. had to wait for another resident to let me in. Receptionist still didn't inform me how to work the front door. It starts with the hallway and continues to get worse. Literally the bare minimum, no bed frame, shitty furniture, janky windows.. and the area is not good at all. Would not recommend staying here
google avatar

Sienna M.

Yelp
Found a crackpipe in a closet that used to be a shower which smelled like urine and feces. The carpet in my room smelled like it had been urinated on for years. The freezer looked like it had a dildo imprint inside of it. The parking lot is very, VERY SMALL. You can barely fit your car in it without having a claustrophobia attack. I called to tell the man at the desk about the crackpipe and it seemed as if he already knew it was there and told me that this place is very safe. He did not even offer a new room...after coming back from being out a few hours I decided I did not want to stay on the bed that was built out of a few pieces of wood. The woman working there was very rude, unfriendly & lazy. I asked her to open the gate for me so I could leave and she told ME to open it and close it. ISNT THAT HER JOB? I was flustered and furious; therefore she gave me a key. She wanted me to get out of my car in the middle of the street and give it back to her because she was too lazy to get off her chair that she probably sat in for hours. Neither of them offered a refund, nor were they friendly. This is not a good place to bring you or your family. Stay away.

Amanda G.

Yelp
This place was absolutely perfect for the price. Rooms were quite small and clearly a bit dated but also very clean and well-kept. Bonus: a bright, clean lounge and patio downstairs with several bonus amenities like a little kitchen, ATM, and soda machine. The microwave in the lounge was particularly clutch since it allowed us to save an extra few bucks by picking up some frozen dinners at the local Walgreens and eating those for dinner instead of having to go out the second night we were there. As far as service, my fiancé and I were expecting that we'd have to wait around in the lounge quite a while given how early we arrived relative to the check-in time, but the gentleman at the front desk was kind enough to arrange for us to check in earlier which was *hugely* helpful since we had a wedding to get ready to attend! If you're looking for a fancy hotel experience, this ain't it... but you're also dumb if you expect that kind of thing at this price point. This place is exactly what it should be: a great CHEAP hotel.

Yelp
Spent 2 nights here during a trip to LA. My partner and I were nervous after reading other Yelp reviews, but were quite delighted with our overall bargain. We found no roaches, negative employees, or hard bedding to speak of. Parking was admittedly limited, but that's to be expected for LA. The same goes for complaints about the surrounding area; honestly, DTLA, in general, isn't the kind of place you should tour after dark. We found the room to be quiet and maid service to be accomodating. We also found a flatscreen TV with cable and a refrigerator in our room, which was honestly more than we expected for this price-tag. The McDonalds next store was convenient and good for a quick breakfast. Far from the best hotel I've ever stayed at, but certainly not what people have made it out to be. It fulfilled its function for the two days we needed it, and was located 10 minutes away from Union Station, making our return very convenient. Again, I think the negative reviews on here are isolated cases. Our experience was more than what we expected for how much we paid.

Yelp
Visiting and drove from Atlanta, GA. Arrived about 9:30pm. Its a rooming house essentially turned into a Hostel/ B&B. It smelled like old damp carpet and molded walls. Though they had a parking deck, I was told there was no on-site parking, though they obviously had parking. And the neighborhood wasn't the best to park on the street. The staff is rude and arrogant.. Found roaches in my room upon check-in, when I brought it to Sam's attention he was less than inclined to relocate us. He didn't offer to do a room change or discount for inconvenience. He suggested we sleep there til the morning when he could spray it with chemicals. That's not how i expected to spend my weekend in LA. They didn't even deserve a 1-star! Would never book again!!!

Yelp
People who leave negative feed back and less stars majority are just crying.... stayed here for 2 nights and have had 0 problems. It is the cheapest hotel in east Los Angeles and very friendly staff! I come out here for work once a month and will be staying here from now on. Strongly you suggest you check out places on your own or might miss out on a place like this because of bitter people. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK ANTONIO HOTEL!

The worst experience ever. I am white but was helping a friend check into the hotel. They denied her a room, but when I went in they offered the same room immediately. The next day they told her to leave because "young black women cause trouble". Shocking. Then when I called to discuss why they refused her service a second night the man (owner) started screaming at me over the phone. Amazing....boycott this hotel. It's a dive and they are racist.

Yelp
Good location for me because it was cheap and close the convention center for E3. I just wish the hotel rooms had a chair but it had everything I needed

Yelp
HORRIBLE. Do not book unless you want something worse than a motel. Needed something last minute and mistakenly booked this place. Upon arrival, the hotel manager misunderstood something and began yelling at us. We immediately returned the key within minutes of arrival and did not stay. Rooms were as small as a closet and dirty. Pictures are very misleading. Antonio refused to give a refund and even lied!!!!!

Yelp
I'm giving this 2 stars because they are cheap as heck and clean, customer service great, however I had to ask for towels, no wash cloths or extra pillows or blankets, no ice and the parking sucks! Tiny back parking lot, I had to sweat and get 4 pairs of eyes to guide my van out of the lot without banging it up in between the tiny drive through.. And yea I think the motel is best buds with the tow company, I parked on the street, to avoid a second struggle to come out the lot, woke up to my van missing.. It was towed! For 2 hours u can't "stop". The hotel had the address and number so conveniently to the tow company.. A few of us customers were in the same boat scrambling.. And the sign is hidden if u Park in front of MacDonald's.. So yea you either shove your car in the few spots in the back, or make sure u wake up between 7am and 9 to move your car off street.

Yelp
To start off this place with very tiny. It smells and the carpet is disgusting. There's like 5 parking spaces so you have to park 2 blocks down. I had asked for towels and they told me I could only have 2 and that they wouldn't give me more. I wouldn't come back to this place a motel would of been cleaner and better. This place isn't worth the 80$.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I needed a place to stay for 5 days without putting a dent on our wallet. The owner of Antonio Hotel is a very kind respectable man. The area is pretty quiet and safe. The parking is limited, but you can be sure your vehicle will be safe on the property. I am giving Antonio Hotel 5 stars because the hospitality and cleanliness was great! Sure, the Hotel is a bit old school, but all we needed was a room to stay in -- not an overpriced 3, 4 or 5 Star Hotel. Antonio Hotel is simple, secure, quiet and inviting. It felt more like home and not like some random franchise hotel with unnecessary things to simply add to the cost of your stay that you don't really need. There is a stove for cooking, laundry and vending machines. It would be cool if there was an available fridge for perishables (i.e. drinks, meats, etc). You can probably request for one, but there was not one already in our room. Not a big deal. Overall -- we felt like we were treated like good friends and not just a paying customer. If you are on a budget and need somewhere to stay where you are treated with respect and great hospitality, look no further and stay at Antonio Hotel!

Yelp
I wanted to give Hotel Antonio a fighting chance, I really did. I'm not a picky traveler, having stayed in places as humble as a Vietnamese fisherman's house, but this place was worse than most hostels. - Bed was really hard, though the sheets looked clean. - Only open windows and a fan for ventilation...lots of noise from outside and BUGS in the room! - Walls were super-thin: I could hear the guy next door yawning and the front doorbell even though I was 6 doors down the hall. - They provided a couple towels and soap, but the towels were tiny (1/3 the size of a normal bath towel). This is minor, but there was also no shelf in the shower to put the soap so I just had to put it on the floor. - I didn't try to use the wireless, but other online reviews have said it doesn't work and people just end up going to the McDonalds next door. This is not a great neighborhood but I felt ok walking to the bus stop in the morning. All things considered, it's an ok place for a cheap night as long as you know what you're getting into, but I will definitely not be back.

Yelp
After reading some of the other reviews, not sure why anyone could have anything bad to say about this place. Me (girl) and my little brother (boy) stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago. I am not going to give you a false review. I am going to be 100% honest. I basically loved everything about this place. The price, well its California... and me being from East coast was NOT ready for all that. However, after searching the Hollywood area this was by FAR the best deal!!!! Other places wanted 650 for a week and they weren't nearly as tidy as the Antonio! As for convenience, it was a great location! It was right off the metro Gold line, and there's also a Mcdonalds right next door!!! I think the owner is very selective with the company he keeps. And I totally get it, there's a lot to be cautious of. With this being said, there was never any shady people or anyone I really had to worry about. The other guests were friendly, kept to themselves, quiet at night & overall pleasant. There is a Washer & Dryer on site, and this was extremely convenient! There are maids, they don't speak much English but they are very well mannered and polite. The place always smells clean. Even the outside is maintained well. Parking didn't apply to me or my little brother but I know they don't offer parking, however there's enough street parking in the area that i am sure you can find something in the general vicinity. The bathroom situation is as follows. Pay more, get one attached to your room. Or pay less and use the shared one. Let me just tell you, Not One Time was someone in the bathroom when I needed to go and I had to wait. Not even once. It was always open, and it was ALWAYS sparkling clean! I was very impressed by this. Initially I though Oh Great I have to share and its gonna be a big ordeal but it wasn't! I wouldn't even pay for the bathroom because ideally its the same thing just a little bit further. The stand up shower is spacious and although there isn't a mirror there is one in your room and also the rooms have a sink. The rooms are clean, they are typical motel style. The bed isn't lavish, but it isn't a nightmare either. The situation I was in, I was just happy to be able to rest my head somewhere safe and sound. There is TV, a nice one.. and has channels. There is also Wifi and it works pretty well. There is storage for your clothes and even some closet space. The rooms are decent. NO BUGS!!!!!! We only stayed for a week, but I would have stayed longer. I honestly enjoyed my stay at the Antonio and I would stay again. It was very decent. I think a lot of places out here charge a lot and you get minimal service. This place gets my vote. You won't be dissapointed!

Yelp
I'm updating my review from last time I stayed here 2 years ago when I first moved to Los Angeles. I recently moved back to the Los Angeles area and I chose this hotel again. I read some of the reviews and read that the rooms smell and the building is falling apart, no parking, people who work here are rude, the bathrooms are horrible. These reviews are further from the truth. Yes there is no parking really, that's true. The building is old but not falling apart. The rooms don't smell and are actually very clean to me. I didn't find any stains anywhere. The bathrooms are clean and were in good working order. I think some people are giving the bad reviews are people who want Ritz Carlton style accommodations but for a very cheap price. That's not gonna ever happen in Los Angeles at least. Overall the hotel is a nice hotel for the price you pay and not in that bad of a neighborhood. There is a McDonald's next door that opens up at 430am, a KFC up the street less than a block and a Walgreens around the corner. I would still recommend this hotel to anyone new to the city and on a budget, or just people on a budget period.

Yelp
The worst place I have ever stayed in. Dirty, smelly, noisy and small. This should be considered an hourly hotel. Smoke detector was wrapped in plastic. The bed was shorter then an average bed. It felt like sleeping on the boxspring. Stains were found everywhere. The bathroom was worse then some rest area bathrooms. This building is falling apart and should be condemned. Stay far away from this hotel.

Yelp
STOP!!! NOT Recommended!! Do Not Stay At This Hotel. They are False advertising the "FREE PARKING" they have little to no parking at all. Do not trust the staff! If I could give it a minus star, I would. We book this room through Expedia and the website said "FREE PARKING" but when my parents went to checkin the front desk gave them room and said there's a space in the back. The PARKING space they gave us would probably fit a small Ford Focus but we had a Toyota Tacoma which definitely did not fit. Went to advise the front desk and they had the audacity to say if the space didn't fit our car it's not their fault it's our fault. They would not accommodate us with parking at any means they just kept saying there is parking (it just won't fit your truck). I called the hotel and they were extremely rude. They would not help us figure out any parking even though they have already collected payment. except to park on the street that states only parking 9pm-7am so we would have to get up at 7am to move it or we'll get a ticket. So much for getting some rest now we had to worry about getting a ticket or someone breaking into our truck. Expedia spoke with the manager they would not give us FULL refund even though they did not live up to their end on the FREE PARKING. We did not have any issue with the hotel we just wanted parking! I had to call them more than 7 times speaking with all different workers who were rude and not accommodating at all even though they already charged us for the stay. The couldn't even offer a discount even though it's THEIR FAULT on the parking. If your not going to have enough parking for your paying guest why put FREE PARKING on your website. The manager was not trying to reason with us or had any sense of customer service at all. We driven 4 hours and had an exhausting day the last thing we want is to argue over parking. The manager had NO hospitality sense to paying customers. THE WROST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Do not stay at this terrible hotel you're better off going else where. Instead of putting "Free Parking" on the website they should put "small parking for small cars only". This hotel was more worry about being money hungry and to do whatever it takes to keep our money than to accommodate us with parking. Literally, if the staff were to just have some kind of customer service and hospitality I wouldn't be this upset! NOT RECOMMENDED! NOT RECOMMENDED! NOT RECOMMENDED! NOT RECOMMENDED! NOT RECOMMENDED!

Yelp
If I could give zero stars I would. I booked this room online and upon arrival, the guy at the front desk ignored me to talk to two women speaking in presumably his native language, and then got interrupted while he argued with another woman who never received towels. He couldn't find me in the system because he misspelled my name, then rudely asked for my id. We came out from SF to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, and a female friend of ours came to drop off his cake but made it clear she wasn't staying. The guy at the desk kept saying "no visitors!" And asked how many people were staying and which one was staying. I told him just me and my boyfriend and even gave him his id, and still 5 more times after that was rudely asked which one was the boyfriend staying with me. The rooms themselves smelled like dirty feet and wet sock, the painting was either never finished or never cleaned up after, as there was yellow paint all over the red carpet, making it look as if it was sponsored by the McDonald's next door. The website says checkout is 12pm. False. It's 10:30 am. If you choose to stay til 12 they charge you $25. The bathrooms smelled awful and we had no hot water to shower the first day, and there was a gaping hole in the middle of the shower that was only covered by a moving piece of metal. The shower itself was slippery because it was basically just tile they used for the walls. I almost didn't want to write a review because I should've expected a less than stellar experience from the cheapest hotel in town, but when leaving the man at the desk practically begged me for a review, so I just really wanna say thanks for making my boyfriend's 30th memorable!

Yelp
If just for customer service - this hotel only gets 2 stars. It's only 3 because of the cheap price. While the room my husband and I stayed in wasn't too bad, with the bed being nicely made and clean, there were several problems with staying at this hotel. Apart from seeing the attendant when we checked in at 7 pm, we never saw him again, even as we were trying to check out the next morning, which made it impossible to acquire the WiFi password for the night. When we got to the room, it itself was fine, though it had very sketchy flickering main light. Speaking of sketchy, the area surrounding the hotel is not ideal, having a history of not being all too safe after night, so prepare food and get to your room early. The check in paperwork demanded to know the relation of the other person in a party of two (as only two people are allowed in one room) which is unusual for a hotel to ask. They also took 3 days to charge my account. Proceed with caution.
