It is one of the most beautiful train stations in Europe, it looks like a palace. Easy to navigate , clear sign posts. The art and architecture external and internal is very impressive

The station looks like it came straight out of a magical book. The architecture is amazing, with an impressive design that immediately catches your eye. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who started taking pictures right away! On top of that, it’s very easy to find your way around thanks to the clear signs.

The architecture and planning of this railway station are truly remarkable. The trains and platforms are spread across multiple levels, ranging from -3 to +3, with a total of 5-6 levels. The design is not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly symmetrical, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. Despite being just a railway station, it draws numerous tourists who come to admire and capture its beauty. The station is well-equipped with facilities, including public restrooms (accessible for just €1), paid luggage storage, a variety of cafes, shops, and even a Starbucks. It’s one of the most fascinating stations I’ve ever visited and absolutely worth a visit!

One of the most impressive train stations I have ever seen. It is huge and the architecture is incredible. Staff were also friendly and helpful. Worth visiting just to look at it, even if you are not travelling!

A very nice train station. Lovely hotels right next door make this super convenient. 24 tracks with trains running to major cities very 7-10 minutes make Antwerp a perfect hub for a holiday. Many shops and food in the station. Tickets are easy to obtain but I recommend the train apps which are so easy to use. First class ticket upgrades are very cheap. Beautiful building with a main hall that is lovely and open to enjoy.

Beautiful architecture at this station. Centrally located and easy 10-15 min walk from major hotels. Other than taking the trains, i havent explored the food venues here, given that its so centrally located, i usually walk to ear somewhere else.

The main star of this station is the clock and architecture that surrounds it. The train station itself doesn't feel big, but there are multiple levels to it. Platforms 1-3 is upstairs and everything else is downstairs. When you walk in to the building, there are about 3 ticket machines on each side. I did notice that there was a single machine as we went down the elevator that was not being used. I guess people flock to the first ones they see. So if there's a line by the entrance, you might want to look at the one down the escalator. The station itself was clean and I didn't see any nefarious things going on. We stayed right across the street at the Hampton Inn and even at night, it didn't feel sketch. There are a few employees walking around that you can ask for help if needed. I didn't see many food options, or even at all to be honest as that was not what I was looking for.

Central Station in Antwerp is well located in the center of the city and is architecturally beautiful. I recommend taking some time to walk around the station to admire the main feature wall with mural and iron work when you arrive before making your way into the city. Platforms are well marked and there are regular trains to and from Brussels. There is also a tourist center where you can get itinerary suggestions and a map.

This is rated as the most beautiful train station in the world and .... I can totally see it. Stunning facade and the inside is even more awe inspiring. They were filming "Now you see me 3" the day I was there so we had to keep us entertained as well.

Used the Antwerpen-Centraal long distance train station to get in and out of Antwerp the other day and it was truly world class. I was completely blown away by the architecture, and most importantly, the fact that there were numerous levels of train tracks! The metro is linked to the Antwerpen-Centraal station. There are also a few shops selling sandwiches, coffee, and pastries along with vending machines. My train left from a different platform than what my train operator's app real-time app said so it's always best to check the signage, even though it's all in Dutch!

Overall, this is beautiful train station in a very nice European city!

My fav train station of all time! 4 levels : 1, 0, -1, -2 Tracks in 3 different levels, Dope! Building is dope! Just wish the sign will tell you not only which spoor your train will be at but the level the spoor is on. One time I had to run up and down the escalators to find my spoor! Just glad I was able the catch the train and be on schedule!

One of the finest train stations I have ever step foot in! I had heard that this train station was nice and worth visiting prior to me arriving in town. What they said was completely true and tha thankfully this is the station I had arrived and departed from, so I had plenty of time to explore it in depth. First off, you need to take in the immaculate architectural design of the walls, ceilings, and floor, truly old world. Then that follows the multitude of levels each hosting different teains going all over the country and various other countries. As for navigation, it can be tricky, so make sure you have plenty of time to find your platform and board the train. If you get lost there is usually an employee nearby, so don't be affraid to ask for help if you are lost. There is also plenty of stores within the station for snacks and drinks, but not many restaurants. As always though, make sure to watch out for pickpockets. Easily a top five train station in Europe!

This train station is so beautiful. The inside is full of history and small hidden details. Don't let this place fool you it's huge! But it's easy to find your way around. The process is super easy, you get your ticket from either the kiosk or the teller in the office and hop aboard. The ride is comfortable and easy and I definitely recommend getting a window seat!

Antwerp's train station is certainly an architectural marvel. For that alone, it's worth a stop. It's also a good connecting station if you're taking an international train. I stopped here on my way from Bruges to Amsterdam and had a pretty seamless connection. When I purchased my international ticket, the super nice clerk told me what platform to go to and how to get there. Seriously appreciated. He also said, "so that's one under-26 ticket, right?" and I was like "can it be?" Probably should've just said "yep." Oh well. International trains are on the lower level. Domestic are above. There are escalators and elevators, so woo-hoo accessibility! Also if you have large luggage, good luck using their toilets. I'm pretty sure the toilet clerk wanted to kick me when I legit got my luggage stuck in the turny-thing. Whoops. There's also plenty of places to buy food. And many luggage lockers.

Ok, yes it is pretty and its a Belgium landmark, and of course every Yelp reviewer just seems to love this station.... But, let me tell you why it blows: missed connections. This train station is so massive with multiple levels and platforms that it is virtually impossible to make your way from platform 22 up to platform 2 in the meager 5 minutes some train schedules afford the intrepid train traveler Seriously, you need to be a travel Demi-God to navigate this station's labyrinth of platforms on your first try. Racing for my connection, I felt like I was in an episode of the Hunger Games, all that was missing was some evil tyrant chirping, "May the odds ever be in your favor," over the intercom. Even though I did make my connection the .2nd time around, my favorite fleece was yet another casualty to Antwerp Station's Hunger Games, as it was lost on my flight between platform 2 to platform 22....oh well, maybe Katniss found it and gave it a good home....

What a gorgeous train station! It is clean, nicely organized and quite elegant. Easy to get around and make a tight connection too.

What a bizarre train station! I've never experienced a train station with platforms on multiple levels. Four different levels I think it is. So it's kinda confusing when you're from a two platform on one level town. For the most part the layout works perfectly. No masses of people huddling together waiting for the trains, which is what you get at Brussels Central. On the negative you do get a mad rush for the escalators when a full train terminates here. The building is indeed beautiful. Gold leaf adorns the most fantastic stone carvings. They say it's the most beautiful train station in Europe. I don't know about that, as they are beautiful stations in Eastern Europe and Russia. However this train station works, so it's above all others.

We didn't get to stay long but this station is an architectual delight as well as clean and efficient. We sopped here based on a recommendation by a website specializing in train travel. We used the website's advice last time but were running late and did not get the full effect. Take an earlier train and stop here on the way to your destination. Tours should include this palace-like station/

A train station with beautiful architecture on the outside, along with a lovely staircase inside. The interior roof looks the way one imagines a classical train station roof to look with curved arches and glass. There's also a bank, small shops, and a Chez Albert stand (branch of a good waffle store.) However, people seem to litter on the floor and the main entryway smells like pee. (Typical for a train station but still gross.)

This place is beautiful. By far one of the best railway stations in Europe that I've been to. Tall ceilings, cathedralesque architecture, and as soon as you walk out, there's the Antwerp Zoo and a giant Ferris wheel. Can't think of many other cities that hit you with so much to look at right out the gate. The train station itself is multiple levels, so expect to ride on multiple escalators to get to your train. Plan accordingly!

Originally when making my plans to travel to the Netherlands I never planned on visiting Belgium but it was too close to pass up. My train ride from Amsterdam Central to Antwerp was only about an hour and half, and the screncery on the train was beautiful. The Antwerp Central station is quite amazing to see, it's multistory and the architecture is stunning. Even though the building is quite old, the station is very modernized. Lots of monitors to help you keep track of train schedule, plenty of food places to eat and clean bathrooms. The public transportation in Europe is just light-years ahead of the majority of American cities, I wish we had this back home.

Even if you do not arrive via rail, Centraal Station is worth a visit. A real functioning piece of history right in the heart of Antwerpen. The architecture alone is worth the price of admission (free). Purchasing a ticket for a quick day excursion out of town is easy and painless. The staff are very helpful and are eager to answer your every stupid touristy question(s). "Yeah, we want to go to Bruges and like umm how will we know when the train has gotten there?"

Somebody told me that people get off the train at Antwerp just to look at the railway station, and to be honest it must be a pretty impressive railway station for people to do that. Well, Antwerp Centraal certainly fits the bill, even if we don't account the three levels that the trains arrive on (and it looks like the platforms have been stacked on top of each other and there is a large open space in the middle. However, it is the main building it self, and the long railbridge that heads out of the station that is amazing. Sure, the shops shut early here (but then again this is Antwerp), and the bottom level is where all of the internation trains come and go, however for a train station the building is pretty awesome, and I've seen a few awesome looking stations in my time.

I would give Centraal Station 5 stars even if there were no trains or if all the trains arrived late and crashed into the waffle stand, spraying chocolate all over the old lady standing next to me. The architecture is simply beautiful and vast, you feel humbled by being there, especially if you are American and are used to awful train stations everywhere (other than Grand Central). The ease of finding your tracks, getting your tickets can not be underestimated. An obvious hub for tourists, you will not have to spend extra time trying to figure anything out here. I traveled in and out of here five or six times while staying in Antwerp and it was as easy as can be. All the trains arrive on time and the station itself is clean with a fair amount of options for food or drink right there. Even if you don't travel by rail while in Antwerp, Centraal Station is definitely worth a visit.

Look, I'm from Southern California, it's not like we have an abundance of train stations or anything...but this was by FAR the largest and most incredible train station I've ever been to. The station is quite clean and architecturally pleasing. It's got a modern edge, while still maintaining centuries old charm. Inside you will find multiple platforms on different levels with trains coming and going. There are a dozen different places to eat, where this american was able to enjoy a Starbucks, while also trying out Panos, which seems to be quite popular in Belgium. You can also get frites and a multitude of other food items. There are also a few different ATMs in case you need cash. Our one issue was trying to figure out the train system and more specifically WHEN our train was scheduled to leave for our day trip to Bruges. It's slightly complicated for people who don't use trains regularly. Fortunately we were able to get some help from the employees and made the next scheduled train an hour after the one we originally wanted to take. This station is definitely a great photo opp and I noticed many photographers getting in on the action!

Plenty to do there, like buy delicious waffles :) One downside: when you want to use the lockers for storage make sure you have cash on you (coins), it doesn't take cards! I didn't so had to drag my baggage to first find where the lockers were, put my very heavy baggage in a top locker (only then noticing that they didn't take cards), then to the info center to find out where to go to the atm, then go back to the info center to find out they don't exchange notes for coins, then to the bathroom where they do exchange the notes and then put my baggage in the locker all over again. One upside: of the most beautiful stations in the world. Very big, at the moment covered in army men keeping watch out, as is Antwerp in general. But definitely worth a visit if you're in the neighbourhood!

It's a beautiful station and is locally referred to "The Cathedral" because its so ornate and large. The services do leave one a bit wanting though. The coffee and sandwich bars do not open early or remain open late in concurrence with the train running times and neither do the public toilet opening times. This can leave the early or late traveler in a bit of a bind.

The most beautiful thing in the central district. That's not hard however but still if you put it next to many of the other great structures in Belgium it would still hold out. I mistakenly parked right in front with the cabs just long enough to talk to my hotel about permanent parking. Man is it a zoo in this area. Later my friends would tell me that no one that really lives in Antwerp goes to the center that much. THanks guys. It was hard to beat the hotel price and it was great to be next to this intensely awesome building. Next time Ill stay outside the area but still come to the station for admiration purposes.

I think it's one of the most beautiful trainstations ever! So the architecture and accommodation gets 5 stars from me. Sadly in the function as a trainstation, it is almost a maze. If it's the first time you might have troubles finding your way immediately. It can be a little daunting even with the markings to find your way, hence only the 4 stars.

This is an absolutely stunning and huge train station. It is very big station with so many platforms and the most silent station. You can also find help sign. From Brussels airport to antwerp central station is just around half our. Must visit.

Esthetically impressive as this train station may be (and BOY is it a magnificent masterpiece!), many are the cons about this train that outweigh the beauty it truly is. First off, like some other reviewers have pointed out, navigation between tracks is a crossbreeding between Harry Potter's 9 3/4 platform and Divergent's runners trying to hop on the running train. If you happen to have any luggage, fuggedaboutit! Not to mention the aggravating Flemish self-preservation attitude. You will know right away you jave crossed from Wallonie to Flamand region for the speaker will magically stop signaling stops in French/English and switch to Flemish (Dutch-derived). Though the eye plays such a great oart in judging a train station, the ability to navigate through it takes precedence, therefore: 3 stars is all i can assign.

Came into the Antwerp station for a little day trip to see the sites in Antwerp, and hands down this is one of the most beautiful stations to come into. Perhaps it's an exaggeration since til now I wasn't the most avid train or public transportation rider, but it was quite impressive from the inside. The archs on the platforms gave it a storybook feel or something right out of a movie and for the most part was clean and seemed well maintained. We didn't explore too much inside the station, but it was fairly easy to come in and out. Platforms were upstairs for domestic and I think international, as well-- but can't accurately recall if international was on the same platforms as domestic. As for how well the place works as a station, I drastically fall short. We arrived domestically and left back for Brussels the same day. There were several connections to Brussels so we weren't stressed for time in general, but the one connection we were trying to get to had us a bit rushed--- entirely our fault though. So, as a working station, I imagine it's like all other stations in that it can be a hectic mess give or take. What makes this station worth it is really that it has some gorgeous fairy tale architecture. It's also clean, the air doesn't smell of exhaust and piss so that's always a pro in my book. There are also places on site to wait for trains and trains arrive in a timely manner and leave exactly on time from what I could tell-- given we almost missed ours back. Haha. The station is also in a nice place to leave and explore the city without having to use the buses or metro. Oh yeah.. also everything is in Flemish. Woo.~

This is an absolutely stunning and huge train station. The new parts aren't that impressive but the parts built long ago like the entrance hall are too beautiful for words. If you are ever in Antwerp I recommend you check it out. Also they have great waffles over there.

Centraal station is hands down, one of the most beautiful train stations I have ever been to. Covered in marble, it is very clean and well-kept, equipped with huge escalators and well-organized. If you need another reminder that you're in Belgium, there are waffle stands as soon as you exit the trains. You can also purchase your B-rail train tickets--Belgium's own inner rail system here at Centraal Station. We travelled to Ghent and Bruges on the weekend and the line ups for tickets were not long, but but I do suggest getting here at least an hour in advance. The prices were fairly cheap, only 15 euros for 2 adults to Ghent and just a bit over that for Bruges. There is also a tourist office where you can pick up brochures and maps.

Most beautiful train station in the world! The location is perfect - 15 minutes from the historic center, plus city bikes and trams if you want to go further than the center.

Beautiful and clean. The architecture is amazing. The trains are usually on schedule and the people are helpful. Bathrooms cost money which may be a surprise to travellers outside of Europe.

Antwerpen central station is definitely fancy and impressive. A huge multi floor platforms and beautiful architecture interestingly blend together. There is also a tourist information center within the station where you can get free city maps. There are also velo bikes you can hire by registering through your smart phone with 3.80for a day pass. There are multiple bike stations inside the city center, one is in the square in front the station. You pick bike with a id number and code, the first 30 mins ride are with no extra pay, and changeable in another station for another 30min and so on. The trams going to the center is also on the same platform.

Ok, so I don't commute via this station daily and yes, I did find some of the platform information confusing when I tried to catch a train onwards to Gent however I award 5 stars for it's unbelievable beauty! This station truly is amazing and wow, I'm happily just sit in this station and just stare at the amazing architecture and watch the world go by. Ok, so maybe that's me not staying true to how I should use my Yelp reviews but it really made an impact on my trip to Antwerpen.

One of the most beautiful train stations there is. The old part of the station is unbelievable when you step inside it's like you're transported back into time to the grand old railroad days. Even if you are just changing trains here, you should at least pass once through the main lobby, it's well worth it. The station further has some shops and places to get something to eat but nothing special. Really the mail attraction here are the trains and the architecture.

The short of it: - beautiful architecture - huge station - pretty clean - food stands inside The long of it: Train stations in Europe are great! This one in Antwerp, Belgium is beautiful. I love the architecture! As a tourist traveling by train here isn't too complicated and its pretty self explanatory when trying to find the platform you need to go to. The trains itself are clean. Even though these trains seem nice you should still be cautious of your belongings. There are people who ride these trains just to find easy targets to steal from! Do not put your stuff on the overhead bins! Keep it right next to you! Also the train conductors don't always come by to check your tickets but don't think that you can get away with not buying one, you could get fined and kicked off!

Beautiful station and easy to navigate. We were headed from bruges to Amsterdam and decided to get off and walk around. As an American I appreciated the beer on the vending machine while we waited.

Really beautiful from the outside. From the inside its ok for a train station, with some interesting stores.

This place is gorgeous, something out of a movie....a Harry Potter movie to be more specific. There's four total levels (ehh maybe five) and three levels of train tracks. When you walk in you're heads going to go straight back. The detail on the ceiling is insane and the walkway to the trains is breathtakingly beautiful, make sure you take tons of pictures because I don't know the next time you'll ever see a station like this. The first train arrived in 1835, into a wooden station, but it was remodeled into this back in 1905! Make sure to go across the street to the Radisson Blue Hotel to get an amazing shot of the outside. In March they hard a pretty Ferris wheel outside front and it light up at night, absolutely gorgeous.

If you happen to visit Brussels and you love train stations, then you simply must visit Antwerpen. The clock tower is one of the most magnificent in the world. Even if its the only thing you do in Antwerpen, it is worth the visit. You will not be disappointed.

I love Antwerpen Central station! I love this station for so many reasons! First of all it's one of the finest example of a train station in Europe. I thought the architects did a marvelous job on designing the railway. American Magazine Newsweek even ranked this station as the world's fourth greatest station. Secondly, thumbs up to adding a Starbucks in the Central station on the side of the main entrance. It is imperative as an American that one finds a Starbucks easily at hand. Thirdly, I am addicted to their Belgian Fries! One day I was so tempted to jump on the train from Amsterdam to Belgium, just to get to some french fries in the station. I had to literally mentally talk myself out of it! And lastly, I believe the civil engineer did an attractive job on the layout of the station. I thought the station was convenient when traveling from Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges and back to Amsterdam in two hours.

The most beautiful station in the world, and it's not just because I live here that I feel this way. Just make sure you get to the ticket queu first and then admire its architecture. And waffles.
