I am 76, so my review probably reflects that.|Last year I stayed in the dorm, this year I decided to book a single room on the 2nd floor. I knew the room would be tiny because I knew the hostel from last year. But I didn't reckon with the total lack of ventilation. I woke with a headache most mornings.|On this floor there are 2 toilets. In 1 the door does not lock. All the showers on this floor are in the same facility and the cubicles are tiny. Since the facility is unisex you must go into the cubicle fully dressed, shower, then dress in the wet cubicle! Also the only sinks are within the shower area, so you can only shave and brush your teeth along with the women. None of this worried me, but I can't speak for the women|There are lots of good points about Anzac House. The beds are comfy. The place is kept really clean by a lady who seems to always be working. The staff are great, very helpful and cheerful which makes up for the slightly worn feel of the place.||What would massively improve Anzac House would be a chill out place. The weather was mixed in October so I spent time reading, the only place for that was in my tiny room. I like to mix with other travellers so missed that here.||None of this will keep me away. The staff try really hard and the place is clean with comfy beds. Of course it is also inexpensive so I guess I will be back. Maybe with some tools to fix that toilet door!
