While we didn't make use of it, there was a communal cooking/recreational area. The rooms were clean, although the TV did struggle to connect in our room. Reception has limited hours, but it is clearly posted what they are. Absolutely amazing views.

Expensive, but very convenient to see Mount Cook and surrounding sites. We had two rooms next to each other for our family of 4. Rooms were very small. The shower style is one where the entire bathroom floor gets wet if the shower nozzle is not pointed in the right direction. The upstairs kitchen is very convenient, and has a beautiful view. Our preference would have been to stay at the Hermitage hotel, but they were sold out. We were lucky to get these rooms. The restaurants are located in the other nearby hotels. |It's very costly for the amenities provided. The only reason we stayed there was due to location, and we were glad we did. Our stargazing activity was cancelled due to weather, and we were able to grab last minute availability at 10:30pm the next day because we were staying near the pick-up location. If we were not on property, there's no way we would have made it in time. Same thing happened with our helicopter scenic ride. Ours was delayed due to wind, and because we were physically close, we could be flexible and make the later time option. Mount cook is absolutely stunning, and we would stay here again just to ensure we could see and do everything.

A great lodging for 2 nights. The rooms could be well heated with the Thermostat. Though the room was a bit tight, the beds were comfy and soft. The highlight of this Lodge is the kitchen and lounge, a large communal area for cooking and eating. Communal fridges were also available, making cooking meals very easy. Being in Cook Village, the Lodge is a short drive to all the famous tracks in the area. Do remember to book early, around 3 months or more in advance to get accommodations!

We had a pleasant stay in the family room with a magnificent mountain view. The room was warm and cozy, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I accidentally left my jacket at the hotel, and they were very responsive to my request and kindly delivered it to me in Christchurch the next day. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and will happily stay here again in the future.

We had a lovely stay end of November, beginning of December. The communal kitchen and lounge area were great. Clean. Great for cooking and hanging out with the views- when the sky cleared up a bit! We had the standard room without a view. This did not bug us as you got great views in the shared space and with a quick walk outside. It heavy rained a bit during our time there and it was nice to have the lounge area to hang out in. We found this an enjoyable stay. Loved the Aoraki Mount Cook area and hope to make it back again!

Location is 5 stars, walking distance to most of the trail and tourist center. The lodge is clean, with big bright kitchen and common area. They also have little grocery options for sell. Only one restaurant and cafe nearby, no shops in the village, so remember to buy everything you need before you arrive.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience here. The owners were so helpful and friendly. They even have a small store there that sells eggs and other provisions as they have a huge well equipped kitchen and dining area that come complete with a wood fire place and a fantastic view of the mountain range. What can I say a bucket list experience. 👌👌👌🌟🌟🌟😊

Yelp
One of the best places I've stayed in my three trips to New Zealand. Decent room with en-suite shower and toilet. Enormous lounge with a beautiful view of Mt. Cook Deck with two barbecues Large kitchen with lots of pots, pans, and utensils and three different fridges Quiet at night Good value for money, if you book ahead.

Yelp
The Lodge offers no-frills, rustic (i.e. outdated) accommodations. Our room on the 2nd floor was fairly small and most of the extra space was taken up by bunk beds. We did have a great view of Mt Cook. Staff was friendly. Tip: There are not a lot of options for food in the area. If you bring your own, you can take advantage of the large common kitchen with multiple fridges, cooktops and plenty of plates/utensils.

Yelp
A small lodge, with a quite large shared cooking and lounge area on the second floor with a nice deck with 2 grills and outdoor seating looking out onto Mount Cook (when it is not socked in by clouds.) This room has 5 couches with seating for 12 to 15, two smaller two person seating areas, three large six top tables with chairs, one large screen TV with about 30 Sky TV channels and a wood burning stove. Cooking area has two separate four burner electric ranges, two sinks, a long peninsula for meal prep, plenty of glassware, plates, utensils and cooking vessels, a large toaster and two refrigerators to store guests food. Quite the "commune" feel but it was very orderly as we saw guests cook, eat and clean up after themselves. Almost asked a family if we could buy a small plate of their tasty smelling Asian dishes! Rooms are decent size but modest with regards to furnishings (no closet - just a wheeled wardrobe with four metal hangers, but there are two nightstands with small lamps) and front (mountain facing) rooms have a view of Mt Cook with two chairs and a small round table at a large picture window. Small TV in upper corner of room with only 8 channels. Our ensuite bath/shower floor is one continuous surface with drain in far corner. Toilet is way too close to the bathroom door - very awkward. Hair dryer in nightstand is nice and powerfully hot! Front desk offers basic food (butter, jam, instant ramen, canned items) and toiletries (toothpaste etc) for sale as there is no grocery within 70 km or so. Wifi is limited to 1GB per room and difficult to connect to unless you turn your iPhone off and back on after you arrive. (We had to use their house phone to call their internet service provider after reception could not help us much and kept saying it was our phone settings that were wrong. Now they know to suggest a phone reboot to alleviate the problem.) This is not the cheapest or most expensive place around the Mt Cook village and you do certainly pay for the location and views, however it was quite comfortable and easy to book online. They do, as many places seem to do in NZ, charge 2% if you pay with a credit card.
