I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Aosta. As a vegetarian, going to an Italian restaurant can be a bit of a risk, but I was pleased with the options I was given.
Our server, Luca, was friendly and helpful and did a wonderful job, especially with our tiramisu dessert. For the starter, the focaccia was delicious, especially the stracciatella. Our next course came a little later than expected, and the wait was around 30 minutes before our "starters" came out. I think 10 minutes less would have been perfect. The flavours in our second courses were complex and interesting, especially with the anchovies (?) that my mum enjoyed. The cacao e Pepe was as excellent as it could be. Our main course was okay. In terms of the flavour, the pappardelle was wonderful, and as I had mine without the paua I accept that I might be missing something important. However the crispy leek on top clashed a little bit with the texture of the food. My mum had the blue fin tuna ragu - she enjoyed the tuna a lot and said the ragu sauce was excellent, but the tagliatelle lacked flavour, although we had filled up a bit already from our other courses! The best course was the tiramisu, just 10/10 and I would come back easily just for this dish. The service was outstanding, we were checked on throughout the night and overall I think it brings up the rating to 5 stars. Thank you for a wonderful evening. I look forward to returning.
