The soba place I wanted to go to was closed but this was around the corner. The line up for this was confusing and they seated people slowly despite their being space. The tea they provide is really tasty and high quality and the duck soba was good as well.

A stylish soba restaurant with a unique menu! We walked in at 7:30pm on a Saturday and waited for about 30 min. Try the walnut dipping sauce with the soba (we ordered the tempura cold soba and they allowed us to switch to walnut for +¥200) - very refreshing! We also tried the duck soba, the broth was quite concentrated but was very good with the soba yu at the end. The recommended sake was also delicious and everyone was very friendly and accommodating.

Tucked away from the crowds, this local soba restaurant was a real find. The noodles were perfectly cooked and full of flavour—simple, fresh, and comforting. The atmosphere was quiet and welcoming, with kind staff and a very local feel. A lovely, authentic experience!

One of the best meals I have ever had in Japan, everything I ordered was simply delicious. Service was top notch, they have an English menu. The salt water boiled green beans were surprisingly tasty; the fried mushroom and eggplant was heavenly. Of course the soba is the best, accompanied by lightly fried vegetable and shrimp tempura, what more can you ask for! Was totally worth the wait of about 20 minutes.

The soup had a strong soy base. It wasn't particularly distinctive in flavor, but it was pleasant.

This place is located in a quiet alleyway in Aoyama. Soba noodles is quite good and there are a lot of tasty appetizers and side dishes 😋. There are two outdoor tables. Due to State of emergency, they close at 8 and the last order is at 7:00 pm.

One of the best soba restaurants! I used to live in the US, and every time I went back to Tokyo for vacation, I ate here. I even went to this restaurant directly from the airport once, haha! Kurumi-dare soba is their signature dish and I highly recommend it. Also, all side dishes are super good too, like salad, sashimi, Kamo-aburi. Recently tried fried pork and really liked it. Staffs are super friendly and attentive. Nice taste on interior design. If you try Kawakamian once, you’ll know why I love this restaurant so much!

Yelp
I loved the duck broth soba! It was a cold, winter day when we dined here for lunch and we were lucky enough to come before the line started to get long. So happy we came because the broth warmed up our bodies and the duck broth and duck meat were delicious.

Yelp
4.5 / 5.0 - I'm not a big soba fan, but I've been to Kawakami-an in Karuizawa, which was nice, so my family and I decided to come here for lunch. Since we were a group of 8, we'd made a reservation in advance and it was a good thing we did, because there was a long line at peak lunchtime. Their specialty is soba, but their tempura is really good, too. I ordered the Kakiage Tempura Donburi (1,500 yen), which comes with a Mini Soba. The rest of my family ordered soba dishes and added a Mini Tempura Donburi. For dessert, I had the Warabimochi, which was good. My nieces had the Taiyaki, which were tiny (bite-size) considering the price, but they liked it. Not sure if it's because they were busy or lacked experience, but they were not the most attentive. We had to ask for our tea to be refilled multiple times. Besides that, we had a lovely meal and would come back again.

Yelp
This is a soba place but with a wide variety of Japanese dishes and sake selection. The food was very good. Recommend to make a reservation since it is very popular.

Yelp
Little tricky for the lunch menu, soba is offered without any duck meat. But soup is really nice, as well as the appetizer, tofu is my favorite!
