4.5 / 5.0 - I'm not a big soba fan, but I've been to Kawakami-an in Karuizawa, which was nice, so my family and I decided to come here for lunch. Since we were a group of 8, we'd made a reservation in advance and it was a good thing we did, because there was a long line at peak lunchtime.
Their specialty is soba, but their tempura is really good, too. I ordered the Kakiage Tempura Donburi (1,500 yen), which comes with a Mini Soba. The rest of my family ordered soba dishes and added a Mini Tempura Donburi.
For dessert, I had the Warabimochi, which was good. My nieces had the Taiyaki, which were tiny (bite-size) considering the price, but they liked it.
Not sure if it's because they were busy or lacked experience, but they were not the most attentive. We had to ask for our tea to be refilled multiple times. Besides that, we had a lovely meal and would come back again.
