2. We was so, so, looking forwards to this holiday at A P cabbanas and nature, having done plenty of homework, seen photo's, read up on trip adviser and watched countless YouTube videos. We normaly stay in busy seaside resorts, so we was looking forward to a relaxing holiday on / near a nature reserve. Imagine our dissapointment when we were then given a room overlooking a car park, in the shade all day. We were told we could have a river / sea view that got superb sunsets, but at an extra cost of 200 Euros for our 10 days. This room was exactly the same layout as the first room offered, not larger or anything. We did pay and it saved us from having a miserable holiday ( not quite, but more of that later ) We also noticed the hotel was nowhere near capacity, with plenty of sea view rooms empty. | First the good bits. Bacon at breakfast very good. Background music in resteraunt supurb! Good quality help yourself wine with meals. Quality drinks at the bar if you asked. Water on request at the bar. Most staf happy enough. The reading light in the room nice and bright. TV with English news channels and YouTube, ect. Entertainment, live Jazz music but at weekends only, was to a very high standard. We were given Cava and birthday cake in our room on the wifes birthday. You get to keep all inclisive drinks and food after checkout. Good shower and soft closing toilet seat ! . Now the not so good bits! We arrived on the day most of the facilities closed down for the winter season. The great hotel that we saw on YouTube was no more! The evning roof terace bar was closed. The 2 speciality resteraunts were closed, leaveing the Ria resteraunt only. This area was your breakfast, lunch and dinner, evening entertainment, daytime reaxing, everything! Now the biggest grumble, COLD FOOD warm at best. This in most hotels might not be an issue, as you just pop the food in a microwave for a minute. THERE IS NO MICROWAVE HERE. We asked at reception more than once to see the manager, but they were never available so we left a message for him to get a microwave and also some ice cream please. Every day we comlained about, cold chips, meat, vegatables, ect. The young girl waiteress must have been fed up with me, so, in the end I said sorry to her, understanding it's not her fault, but yes, it is someboddies fault! The chef / cook in the blue shirt did come ot with his temperatue probe and meter, prodded the food, but then just dissapeared back into the kitchen. Please replace this man, or retrain him to do his job. The food was in metal containers with very heavey lids, the labelling was so tiny you had to lift each lid to see what was in them. This caused chaos at busy times. Maybe use glass lids? Salt and pepper in short supply, we were asked to give it back! The end result was, that sometimes going into eat at mealtimes was almost a miserable experience! It didn't help that the last 3 days of our holiday we were in our room most of the time, due to Storm Charlotte and only left our room to go into the resreaunt or bar area. No Bingo or quizes or anything to help out in the daytime. Very limited seating for the entertainment. Summary. If we had booked 2 weeks earlier when facilaties were open, this would have been a great holiday, but still spoilt, by such a simple thing, cold food.
