It was a fun road trip to get here since we already know the area. We picked this villa for a different experience. Unfortunately, when we arrived, it was pouring rain all day, so we didn’t get to do much except hang out in the room with a tiny gecko crawling around. Every night, they leave droppings near the bed. We’re cool with some bugs, but those geckos make the room kind of dirty. But they have an outdoor bathroom, do the math! While, the water debit quite small and the quality of the towel is bad.. Still, you should try the fried rice — it’s really good! And love the entrance to the villa..

The villas are spacious, however the bathroom needs an upgrade as the shower barely works with only a hint of hot water. The pools is nice with some shade. The hotel is located on the beach but a little way from town. The restaurant and bar are good value but limited. Staff are very nice and helpful. Clean villa, sheets and towels.

We booked this villa in January, well in advance, as three separate families. The photos and reviews showed a clean, well-kept property. In reality, it was the complete opposite.||||We arrived at 10 PM with our group of six (three adults and three children). The moment we stepped inside, we were hit by an overwhelming smell of dampness. The rooms were infested with mosquitoes.||||When we asked an employee for help, the only solution offered was mosquito spray. After spraying the entire room, dead mosquitoes began falling onto the beds and floor. The chemical smell became unbearable, and we had to sit outside late at night because the air indoors was impossible to breathe. My 5-year-old asthmatic son immediately struggled to breathe due to the humidity and strong odour.||||When I tried to shower the children, there was no water. Staff managed to fix it temporarily, but the water kept cutting off repeatedly during our stay, making it impossible to shower or wash properly.||||The conditions inside were appalling: every pillow was brown, mouldy, and filthy beneath the pillowcases; the curtains were covered in mould; there was no hand soap or shower gel provided. When they took away our dirty towels, they never brought replacements unless we asked — and even then, they gave us only two towels for six people, claiming they had no more.||||When I showed the state of the pillows to the employee and asked to speak to the manager, he first apologised, blaming “high season” — an unacceptable excuse for unhygienic conditions. Then, shockingly, at 11 PM with three small children during peak season, he told me that if I wasn’t happy, I should leave.||||The villa was dirty throughout: animal droppings and dust in corners, grime on surfaces. The next morning, in one of the rooms, we found a flying cockroach the size of my hand — something I had never seen in my life.||||The reality bears no resemblance to the online photos — they are misleading. The other families travelling with us faced exactly the same problems in their rooms.||||This was inhumane, unacceptable, and felt like a scam. You pay for accommodation but get unsafe, unsanitary conditions and rude treatment. I will be adding photos so future travellers can see the truth. Book here at your own risk — there are far cleaner, safer, and more honest options available.

The villas, decor, staff and service are just as described on their website. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The cafe has been renovated and has a very Italian atmosphere and the coffee is excellent. Plenty of off road parking. Good snorkeling off a very clean and maintained beach. This is my third trip to Apa Kabar and I’ll be back.

Looks amazing when you first arrive . But you'll soon find out you are not walking distance from anything rooms have all got something wrong with them there's a mosquito problem . No hot water , fridge didn't work , I went fishing and got one fish to take back to cook . The apa kabar completely destroyed the fish and when I asked to speak to the manager they refused because they would of got fired so I didn't say anything but I have so many complaints about this place I wouldn't recommend and that's very hard for me to say

Everything was relatively decent during my 2 week stay at Apa Kabar Unfortunately when the hotel bill came there was an issue as I was told it's 50k per day for bike rental but the bill showed 70k. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal but it was the hotel manager's mistake, not mine so I expected them to take the hit and give me the price I was quoted; Instead I was given quite a rude and unapologetic response Apart from that, the staff are really friendly and helpful apart from the aforementioned manager and overall it's pretty good value for money, right on the seafront for 600k per night. Sadly there are a few cleanliness issues as well such broken & dusty lamp shades and a dirty mosquito net in my room The restaurant has some pretty good dishes like the fish curry; Quality varies depending on what you order This could have been a 5 star rating, it's a shame about the manager's attitude and the few cleanliness issues which could have been easily mitigated

The villas are right on Amed beach which is full of working fishing boats. It's a pebble beach with good snorkeling right beside the villas on the left. You can book snorkeling and sunset tours right out front with a local called Johan. I was in the private villa with its own infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Service was friendly, food was good. I'd absolutely stay again.
