Where do I begin with this awesome place? Never have I felt so at home and a part of the family when staying at a hotel. Mariano and Susana, the inviting couple and live-in owners of the cabins, went above and beyond to make sure my mother and I were comfortable and went to all the right excursions. They aren't paid by any companies to advertise for excursions in the area, so their recommendations are always honest and exactly what you're looking for. Anytime I needed advice, their door was always open.||||Also, they leave four pieces of Rapanui chocolate out every day when the maid comes by, which is an wonderful treat to come home to. They leave a "bottomless" basket of muffins and crackers in your cabin as snack/breakfast. The hotel office has many coupons, a wine rack free to drink from as long as you replace it with any bottle of your choice, a printer and shelves of DVD's and books. The cabins were beautiful, cozy and allowed in a lot of natural light. I could go on and on. Thank you for your generosity and hospitality Mariano, Susana and family! (from Catherine)||||P.S. Their sons, Mariano and Juan, own a rental car company (Del Arroyo Rental Car) that charges less than the surrounding companies in Bariloche to the guests at Del Arroyo. We paid 4,000 pesos for a manual Toyota for 6 days, and Juan changed our American dollars at a rate of 14 (the rate in Bariloche at the time). So, the math comes down to $285 for six days, which was within our budget for a rental car. Taxis are very expensive there, so I would recommend renting a car from them. Just email Susana after making the booking and Juan or Mariano will be waiting for you at the airport with the car.
