We stayed in Alas del Alma in December and had a great time. They advertise themselves as cabanas, but in fact it is small B&B right in the middle of the village of Tilcara. There are the positive cabanas features - you have a small cuisinette (fridge, kettle and microwave, no stove), private outside siting area and common garden with BBQ but not any of the negative ones. There is only 5 rooms in total and it's really quiet.||||The rooms are spacious, split on 2 levels, the bathroom was also quite large and modern. Only natural construction material and local style were used, so it's all stone, brick, wood and even cardones wood. The lamps made out of branches were little bit over the top but the rest is nice and works very well with the region's climate - the interior was cool during the day and warm in the evenings. Breakfast is served on local pottery and also local fabrics are used for decoration. Prices vary according to seasons, but for us it was a extremely good deal since we got a room for 4 for the price of a double.||||There is an adventure agency right opposite (Altitud Norte) if you feel like special excursions, but we just did a lot of things ourselves - a hike to Garganta del Diablo, driving around and discovering Quebrada de Humahuaca and of course there is plenty to do in Tilcara.
