Hotel Plaza del Sol

I stayed here for 3 weeks. The staff were very nice. Wifi was free and good enough to watch Netflix. My only complaint would be the lack of restaurants in the immediate area, although there is an excellent supermarket down the street.

In every visit to this hotel i pick the Junior Suite for the little extra cash. Just to be able to have a little bit more space. The hotel is very safe, It's clean, It's quiet. Beds are comfortable and the A/C works great. The bathrooms are a nightmare, super tiny. At least the hot water and the water pressure is excellent. Other that that. Nice budget hotel to have a good night sleep.

I just found this gem in the middle of the night. I came in and made the reservation. My stay lasted no longer than 9 hours but I gotta say this place is a total bang for the buck. It has parking, free wifi, A/C, hot water, TV, a small kitchenette, which includes a few burners and a small fridge if you're planning on preparing your own meal; and last but not least, everything is squeaky clean! The location is also great , you can reach most points of interest (from a tourist's point of view) in a few minutes. This place is really good if you're spending a few days on Santo Domingo and don't want to break the bank.

if you travel to the Caribbean its for the beaches and the sun, the people and the history. So why waste money on fancy hotel rooms with mediocre service? better to enjoy convenience and great pricing in your accommodation. Plaza del Sol meets expectations- care is good, rooms are very clean and the decor and accomodations great. I stayed in a junior suite and would do it again-- next time.

Bad location||When I first arrived to the hotel, I was sabotaged by lady posing to want friendship but was actually a prostitute who claimed I promised her $500.00. She then called the police. When the police came, they believed me but told me that although they believe me I should pay the lady something to stay out of court which could cost me much more and to make her go away. After being lied on, attacked by the woman (she damaged my finger) and the hotel attendant verifying she attacked me in the hotel lobby, the police did nothing to the lady. In the end I paid the lady $200 for her lie to keep from going to jail while the police orchestrated the exchange. This country is so corrupt and the hotels, police and many of the cities are all part of the scam, what a debacle! The hotel wouldn’t reimburse me if I checked out of which I did. The next hotel Aparthotel Plaza Colonial was even worse. The power went out at least 4 times in 2 days(no generator). I eventually didn’t stay at the hotel 5/7 days I paid for! None of hotel attendants spoke good English. Location is in very unsafe neighborhood. The rooms are tiny. Hard to find hotel even in day time. Don’t believe the photos or promised amenities and basic living needs claims. WiFi was slow at best!

people were great frendly. happy people. great intertainment group. the dinner was not that great....they can do better....I will like to return to punta cana.i wont stay at vista sol. only because the food...no flavor. I was expecting carribean food from the country. not blend food. felt like I was in a hospital.||.

If you just need a clean place with a stove this hotel is perfect my second time staying here it's always clean my tv in my room didn't work the internet is not great but I believe it's a family owned business as you the tell with the highest level of cleanest and the hotel is well maintained very spacious room and a very decent price

I've been to the DR several times but hadn't discovered this beautiful and cozy aparta Hotel until now. I must say I am impressed with the service. It is a place to visit again, plus very good price for such a place.
