Apartamentos Austria

The location of these apartments are excellent as next to metro colon station and close to the city centre, shopping and cathedral. You are in the heart of everything being on your doorstep. Upon arrival from the colon metro, come up elevator and turn left up "Calle Don Juan de Austria Street" and the apartments are across from the shop Parfois, the building is called Edificio Apolo. The building is lovely, has 24 hour concierge and felt safe. The apartments were very spacious, bright, clean and with modern furniture and had everything we needed. We were travelling as a family and had 2 apartments, ours was apartment 6 with terrace which was lovely to sit out (weather dependant) and the other apartment (236) was also very spacious and of the same high standard. Before travelling and during our stay I had a few questions and the host Lorenzo replied almost immediately and was extremely helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend and I will also definitely be returning. Thanks Lorenzo for everything.

The good||The location of these apartments is excellent. Not quite 5 minutes walk from Colon Metro station, on a good shopping street, 10 minutes walk to the old town. There are quite a lot of bars & restaurants in the streets behind the building worth a visit.||||We stayed during & just after the Fallas. Our friends had apartment floor 5, 172 overlooking the shopping street (1 double bed & a single in the same room). We stayed on floor 3, room 58 looking down towards the ayuntamiento (double bed in separate room to the 2 singles). They were very secure as there is a 24hr concierge who keeps an eye on everyone coming & going.||||We were checked in (office 42, 2nd floor) very quickly & efficiently. We were given maps, leaflets and even a little brooch to wear for the Fallas. ||||The kitchen was perfectly adequately stocked with the basic utensils to do a little cooking. The central market is fantastic for fresh food if you want to do some cooking, there is also a supermarket on the street behind the main entrance.||||In room 58 there was loads of storage, very good hairdryer, large flat screen tv, washing machine, clothes dryer, iron, spare blankets & pillows. The other apartment was stocked similarly I presume but with less storage but it had an adjoining apartment separated by a locked door which probably had more. ||||The not as good ||For the price these apartments are fantastic. However, the bathrooms were a little dated. Plenty of hot water but the shower didn't work very well. ||||The windows didn't seal very well so did let the noise in, but except during the Fallas, there isn't much street noise when you would be asleep so it's not a problem. ||

Not sure if this is the same place as the photo here looks terrible. We stayed at Lorenzo's apartment on this street Austria 4, flat no 33. Building has dentists, lawyers, etc so there's a 24-hr concierge and the doors always open. 4 lifts to access floors.Location was great - huge supermarket on the street behind - great for lunch food to have in the apartment. Shops galore, Colon metro at one end of the street and the main Plaza just at the other end.|Apartment was clean and well stocked with kitchen items, towels, extra pillows and quilts etc. We were there in February so the heating was required and the aircon/heating unit was great. Comfortable memory foam mattress on bed. Found the shower pressure a little weak but more than adequate. Wifi was great. Small terrace (no view as surrounded by high buildings), essential for smokers! Owner Lorenzo stayed in touch via WhatsApp in case we had any questions.Only criticism would be kettle too small (travel size) and had to buy toilet rolls (no big deal!) just good to let you know in advance as the supermarket does't open on Sunday.

I hope I am reviewing the same apartment I stayed in, Austria 4, Apartment 6. The address is the same, but the pictures are not. I found the apartment through Bookings.com. Took the subway from the Valencia airport directly to the nearest stop, Colon and the apartment is less than 5 mins walk away. Dragged my luggage & a backpack with no problem, as there are escalators in the station. Picked up key from the doorman. The apartment is clean and as advertised in Bookings.com. Used the washing machine (although no dryer but there is a laundry rack in the outdoor area), the rain shower has good pressure, plenty of towels available, there's hairdryer, bed was very comfy (I like my mattress firm though) and very basic kitchenware, but adequate. A little tricky to use the stove but I found instructions in the drawer. Wifi connection is good. Plenty of storage space. It was a little humid when I was there and the AC was running excellently. I am a smoker so the outdoor area was definitely a plus for me. The location cannot be beat. The apartment is on a pedestrian only street filled with shops, and is safe with security cameras outside & inside the building. You will be in the middle of everything -- the Plaza Ayuntamiento, The Old City, Russafa, Gran Via, even going to the beach was easy with the subway, and transfer to the tram. There are tons of good restaurants within walking distance. There are two huge supermarkets behind the apartment, namely Mercadona & El Corte Ingles. After my stay I took the subway from Colon directly to Joaquín Sorolla to catch the Renfe. Although I didn't meet with Lorenzo, but he answered all my questions via email promptly, and was ever willing to help. There are however, some things you need to know: The apartment faces the back of the building and the entire apartment is see-through glass doors. There isn't much privacy as the panel curtains are somewhat see through and doesn't cover the entire glass doors (please see picture). So if you need to have blackout curtains to sleep, this isn't a place for you. The kitchenware & utensils are very basic so if you're planning to whip out a Michelin star-ish dining at the apartment, you may have a problem. There is no oven to bake and the fridge is tiny with no freezer. There is however a microwave oven. There were shampoos and conditioners but little amount left in the bottle, and no bath gel so I suggest bringing your own basic toiletries, or check first and then go buy some from the supermarket if its not provided. The apartment has no full length mirror. Given the minor cons, I had a very pleasant stay and I do recommend for couples or close friends (max 3 people) to stay here.

We stayed 4 night in app Austria , Valencia. The appartment is very good located, near the metro Colon, and few minutes of historical center. A lot of shops, bars, restaurants, in this area. ||The only problem that we had , it refers to the shower, because every morning the water was quite cold, in the first day I had remain with the shampoo in the hair, because the water became cold very fast....||The furniture is not quite new , there are beds, some pieces for kithen, and No wardrobe....||Regarding the bathrom, the same impresion: can be impoove a little. ||Considering that we didn't stayed so much in the room, only during the night for sleeping, and it was helpful to be located so good, the general impresion is good.

Great location in the city centre, plenty of bars, restaurants and shopping all around. Shame about the room. Part of a large apartment building with units on several floors, problem may just have been our room (7), broken furniture, curtains falling off their runners, heating not working, tiles around the bath/shower falling off. Needs triple glazing as road noise is very loud.||Stayed for 5 nights and it was cold at night, did not eat in but microwave and two ring hob pretty basic.||Better price than hotel rooms for 4 of us but doe need a bit of TLC

Very pleasant apartment, all very clean and everything as it should be. We would have wished for a slightly firmer bed, but that's a question of personal preference.||||A good supermarket just around the corner and very helpful concierges in reception.

The doorman and concierge were welcoming. We had no problem checking in. The location was convenient to the places we were going to. The room itself was spacious but there is no vent in the bathroom. Otherwise it was a lovely experience.
