Loved this place. We had breakfast here 3 times. Croissant with homemade jam & coffee was delicious. Fried eggs on York ham roll so tasty. The eggs were the nicest we've tasted. As our Spanish is limited, the ladies who served us were very friendly, welcoming & extremely helpful. Fantastic value for money & you're set up for the day.

The name of this aparthotel is, as we understood it, taken from the local name of the street where it is located, Larga, and the house number, 70. Is seems to be one of the main streets in the centre of El Puerto de Santa María, but since our apartment did not give onto the main street it was no problem with the traffic noise during the day (anyway at night there is almost no traffic at all). Even if one cannot park the car right outside the aparthotel (except for unloading), there was no need for us to use the parking houses since we perfectly could find a free parking place within walking distance on the streets in the small town. About the apartement: ours was on the top floor, which seems construced some time after the original one, so inside there was nothing antique in style; it rather resembled the ordinary cheap apartments one can hire in Greece. The view from the terrass and the kitchen was on house roofs and closely to one of the kitchen windows there were ruins of an abandoned house. There was air condition in the dining room and the bedrooms, but I guess the kitchen is too small to have "the air" installed there. Since the kitchen did not have a window, it soon became very hot, and difficult to stay in for a longer time. The kitchen is not really suitable for any big cooking or washing up, having only 2 stovetops, not so many good utensils and very little space. I should say that that was the main minus in the flat. It was enough for being able to make a breakfast but we restrained from making other meals. Even if the standard was not what I expected for the price paid (more than 1000 euros for a week in August for 2 bedrooms - compared with half of the sum at Canary Islands just before Easter), I very much appreciated the central location and the quite spacious bedrooms and the dining room. Also the reception personnel was very friendly and helpful. On arrival we received free tickets for a drink of a "fino" wine at the contigous bar. There is a laundry with 2 washing mashines one can book for 5 euro (the detergent included) between appr. 12-14 or 17-20 hrs. I guess that if You choose some other time than the peak month August, for visiting Larga, You could get it for a better price, and then I can recommend it for some days unpretentious stay in the centre of El Puerto.

I had stayed previously at this location and on check in this time found I'd been upgraded to a bigger apartment. The aircon was very efficient - good for a Spanish summer. Having a flat was great as I could cook meals after shopping at the terrific market and really feel like a local. It was a 10 minute stroll to the train station and a 15/20 minute stroll to the bus station for trips out of town. The catamaran ferry was great to get to Cadiz or Rota for day trips. El Puerto is mainly a holiday destination for Spaniards so it does help if you speak some Spanish and any attempt to talk is appreciated.

The building is a restored palace and it is just stunning. We stayed in a large apartment facing the main street. You could hear the traffic in the morning but was quiet during the night (October). The apartment was fully fitted with a kitchen and living room. We only stayed for a day but I could easily see a comfortable longer stay in that apartment. The person at the reception was kind and helpful.

It starts with the very friendly and helpful reception staff and then continues with the spacious rooms that are full of character and charm. The hotel is also within 3-4 blocks from great restaurants (check out the Malquerida) and a short drive from several beaches. This is a nice alternative from a traditional hotel and worked great for our family of 6.

This is an old palatial house, very centrally located, with spacious huge rooms. We stayed in an apartment for a very reasonable price. It was clean, well-equipped, Internet connection was excellent. We even had a great view of the town from the terrace. The hotel has multiple doors and gates, so it is safe. There are lots of restaurants in the area.

We have just returned from a week at Larga 70 and think it was a great choice. The apartments are in an attractive old palatial house right in the town centre. There is an underground car park 30 yards away (a public pay car park, but very handy for loading/unloading luggage), the train station and buses are a 10 minute walk away, as are the ferries over to Cadiz. The apartment itself had twin beds, a small bathroom, a kitchen with two-ring cooker, fridge, sink and microwave (but no washing machine) and a largish lounge. The walls seem to be quite thick, as we never heard any noise from other guests and the towels were changed daily, while the sheets once, or maybe, twice during the week. The girls on reception were friendly and helpful and were even on duty between 2 and 5, which is sometimes a problem in Spain, when they often close for dinner. There were two air-conditioning units, one in the bedroom and one in the lounge, where there was also a TV (Spanish channels only). For a low season price of 55 Euros per day it's really good value compared to a hotel room and would be especially appropriate for people with kids. My only complaint is the shower head, which would only point straight down (i.e. you can only stand under it with great difficulty), so not much of a gripe. We'll definitely go there again if we're in Puerto de Santa Maria.
