I have just ended my stay at the apartments mestret in San Antonio. We departed on the 7th of July 2019.||||The staff member was an elderly Spanish gentlemen, grey hair on the back and sides/bald on top. Very short and quite overweight. ||He did not speak any English.||||The first complaint I have about the staff member in question is that he has now in fact cost me about £50/€55. This is because on the evening of the 6th of July I washed a pair of swim shorts and left them on the balcony of our 5th floor apartment to dry, which were then blown off the balcony of the room I was staying in during the night of the 6th of July/early hours of the 7th of July. I had only previously purchased these shorts a week before travelling to Ibiza on the 3rd of July and purchased them back in the UK for £35. Also I has vest on the balcony drying off the same time that also got lost during this night along with a friends pair of swim shorts.||||The reason I am complaining about this member of staff is because once I had got back to my room, which was room 501. I had noticed the shorts and vest (along with a friends pair of shorts) had been blown off of the balcony this night by the wind and they had fallen to the ground floor where the area was cornered and fenced off next to the communal pool for mestret apartments and tropical hotel. When I went downstairs to speak to the elderly gentlemen he refused to even listen to me, as I knew he did not speak English I had made the effort to write out what had happened to my clothing and translate it on google translate so he could understand why I was going to him with my enquiry. He was very rude and basically hushed me away without even attempting to read what I had translated for him.||||Following this avenue not working and no other way to get my lost property back at this point myself and a friend came back down hoping to try again to speak to the elderly employee and we had found him talking to two Spanish gentlemen about 30 years old who also understood English, so I explained the situation to them and they were able to translate for us to the elderly employee, he again refused to be helpful in any way and translated back that he did not in fact want to help us, he refused completely and said go to the shop at 9am. As this was our last few hours in Ibiza we had to be at the airport for 8am and therefor had to leave San Antonio at 7:30am, we had our translators tell him this for us and explain that these were new clothes and we would greatly appreciate being able to get them in which he again replied with no and we were told that he basically told us to F**k off in Spanish, when I replied this in question to them and said “he said f**k off?” The elderly gentleman then actually turned to me and said to my face “si, f**k off”. With this I am greatly offended and will now be taking this complaint as far as I can, I think it’s absolutely disgusting that I was treated and spoken to this way as a customer at the mestret apartments, and also unable to get my property back which I had only just purchased recently. ||||The gentlemen had also threatened to phone the police on us for our stag wearing obscene outfits, when the outfits in question were all bought from fancy dress shops in the UK, covered all rude body parts and yes they were raunchy, but in no way sexually, racially or religiously offensive. He threatened to call the police on us for such a ridiculous reason and did make us feel very unwanted as holidaymakers, yet everyone we had met on the west end had thoroughly enjoyed the outfits, thought they were very funny and in good nature. ||||We did not spend much time in the hotel room as we were on a stag do, so we were coming in, having a few hours kip and then back down by the pool early. Most of the time in our room was spent either sleeping or washing. The rest of the time we were out of site as the actual apartment had nothing to offer us. ||We didn’t have any parties back in the room, we didn’t cause no trouble with other guests. So there was no reason for us to have a grudge with this elderly gentleman or for him to hold a grudge on us.||Fact of the matter is if you work in a hotel/apartments that are 100 yards from the west end then expect a stag do to stay there or refuse a booking of 6 men. With that being said we are quite respectable people and did keep all noise and any stag antics to an absolute minimum in the hotel and carried on with our day elsewhere.||||The gentlemen also threatened to phone the police for me asking to get my clothing back. ||||I will definitely not recommend this place. ||It was my 4th visit to Ibiza so I know what the place is about, the other times I stayed in Ibiza Rocks and never had any problems with staff members whatsoever.
