I stayed here on a city break to Barcelona with another guest in early September 2024. We stayed for 4 nights and were very impressed with the accommodation.||Location: Brilliant - Just around the corner from the Sagrada Familia (90 second walk). Other than a taxi to the W Hotel to watch sunrise we walked everywhere. Barcelona is built on a grid system, other than the odd diagonal road, so is to easy to navigate. Bike and scooters are plentiful and readily available for hire - We tended to walk but you were never more that about 6 feet from a tourist or local on an electric two wheelled scooter or a bike. ||On foot from the apartment approximate times to the following places:|Nova Icària beach: 35/40 mins. Nova Icaria beach turns into Bogatell Beach which then turns into Mar Bella Beach and so on so there is no need to deliberate on which beach. If you don't like it move along to the next one. The other side of the W hotel the beaches also run into each other. |Sagrada Familia: 2 minutes!|Las Ramblas: 35 minutes |Park Güell: 30 minutes - much of which is uphill. |Casa Batllo: 20 minutes|Harry Restaurant: 25 minutes||Security: 24 hour Reception: The reception is manned 24 hours a day the staff are polite and very helpful. We arrived several hours early for check in and were allowed to check into our room at no additional cost. Had our room not been ready the hotel would have stored our luggage in a secure room, also at no extra charge. The hotel will also arrange, for a fee, transfers to and from the airport / station etc. There is a decent sized supermarket two door down on the corner which is very handy for stocking up the apartment. It's not visible until you are right upon it, but is deceptively large. There are various cafes / shops and eateries on the nearby crossroad to the right of the building. If you walk left and turn the corner you are right in front of the Sagrada Familia where there are more eateries, souvenir shops, another supermarket, McDonalds, Burger King, various restaurants, cafes, ice creams shops etc. ||Facilities: Our apartment was 104 on the first floor at the front of the building. ||The kitchen: Well stocked with every practical item you would need for a short/longer stay, including a washer/dryer, a dishwasher, 2 ring halogen ring stove, microwave, toaster, kettle, pod coffee machine and fridge with a small freezer section. There was also an assortment of pans as well as crockery and cutlery for 6. Ample cupboard and drawer storage for provisions. Whilst the room does not have its own iron, reception will provide one for use at not extra charge. ||A complimentary bottle of water and various teas, coffee pods and olive oil samples are provided for your arrival. A cleaning welcome pack was also provided which included a tea towel, washing up liquid, sponge, and a cleaning cloth. ||Bedrooms: Two bedrooms - The first room had a window to the front of the building overlooking the balcony, a desk, bedside tables and a rack with clothes hangers. It also had a telephone with which you can contact reception. The second bedroom had twin beds a bedside table, and a wardrobe with hanging space and drawers. It also had a frosted widow which could be opened to a small internal courtyard /utility space. |Bathrooms: x Two (No moldy sealant!) - One ensuite (Twin room) and one larger main bathroom. Both equipped with shower, toilet, basin, hairdryer and two mirrors including an adjustable round magnifying one, and a shaver point. |Both bathrooms were stocked well stocked with hand soap and body lotion dispensers by the sink and shower gel, shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower. ||Kitchen lounge: Decent size kitchen /lounge, with a table and chairs separating the two spaces. Sofa will seat 3 / 4 people. A medium sized TV with various apps such as Netflix which you can log into. |The sofa doubles as a sofa bed, we didn't use it so I can't say how comfortable it was as a bed. As a sofa it was quite springy when you sat down. Once you were sat down you didn't really notice it too much. If I could change one thing it would be to add a little more padding. ||Balcony: Comfortable for a couple of people to sit on and a blessing at the end of a long day sightseeing. It has a view of the street, a couple of cafes and a crossroad to the right. A Line of trees does provide privacy from some of the apartments opposite but as with most cities its impossible to be completely private.||Noise: We were fortunate not to have noisy neighbours so didnt have any issues with noise. Whilst you could hear a little street noise with the balcony doors open it was not too intrusive. The rear room with the twin beds was particularly quiet. I would occasionally hear the water draining from the shower above but again not often and it was not too intrusive. ||There is also a large salon which residents are free to use. The apartment was clean and inviting. The interior decor to the building and also our apparmtent is a tasteful homage to Hispanos Suiza, a Spanish car maker, with stylised art and other tasteful interior touches such as the elegant spindles. ||We really loved Barcelona and Hispanos 7 Suiza was a very big part of that. It was an excellent base from which to explore the city from and exceeded our expectations. Clean, welcoming and well located! Before we arrived in Barcelona we were warned by friends and on various sites about overpriced taxi's, pickpockets and avoiding certain areas after dark. I am pleased to say we did not experience any of those things. We will definitely come back to Barcelona and will stay here again.
