Good hotel, very good location. Very friendly and exceptionally professional staff, thank you very much. Breakfast is good. Garage has awkward entry with a turn. If you have 4x4 or roadster you will be struggling, but it is manageable. Most of the rooms have no air-con, beware. The view is good, but beware the noise from the street. The restaurant does not work in the evening. The concierge is at the desk from 7 am to 7pm. For the night entry you will have your key. If you arrive late on the first day you better call the hotel in advance.

Comfortable and nice-looking hotel with the best possible location frontline Lago Maggiore in Swiss resort of Locarno. Rooms are all different, some refurbished and with air conditioning and some not, we had 2 rooms next to each other. 11-1 and 11-2, beautiful, fully refurbished, with nicely equipped terraces and air conditioning! Hotel staff is very helpful, professional and friendly, cleaning is decent pretty. Hotel offers buffet breakfast of good quality (maybe not a lot of variety, but all is really fresh and tasty), they have little beautiful garden with a swimming-pool. Ping-pong table with free of charge rackets and as well free of charge bicycles for guests. Lovely clay tennis courts are just across the street, and within 5 minutes walk you have parks, cable car, LIDO (gym, swimming-pools, lake beach), Termal Salty SPA (one of the best in Switzerland) and a centre (Old town) of Locarno. Train and Boat Station are as well several minutes away on foot. They have an underground parking and they offer Ticino ticket with free of charge public transport (includes some boat trips) and discounts on all major attractions. Locarno is a town very worth visiting and Aparthotel Al Lago is very recommendable place to explore all beauty of it on foot.

Great spot for a family. The spacious superior room is well priced and beside the regular equipment has a small kitchen and fridge. The breakfast is small but there is fresh bread and croissants from a local bakery every day and great local cheese. Outstanding. You can also order the bread at the hotel reception (e.g. when leaving home). We were very happy to stay here and think it was a great value. Also, the pool temperature was good even in middle of October. I would almost forget to thank the staff for being so kind.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Arriving by train in Locarno, it was an easy 10 minute walk to the hotel, which sits adjacent to Lake Maggiore. Our room was spacious, with a well-eqipped kitchenette. The whole hotel - including our room, was spotlessly clean, and the staff very friendly. Breakfast was included in the price and was superb - with a selection of breads, croissants (locally made), local jams, meats and cheese. We ate breakfast outside on the terrace each day which was nice. The swimming pool was great - and again, spotlessly clean. The hotel was very conveniently located, and it was an easy walk into the main town, the furnicular railway, the nearby Locarno Lido, and the boats which ply the lake. ||The Ticinio Ticket (issued to us by the hotel) gave free travel on all public transport in the Ticino area, and also discounts on various attractions. The local bus and train service was efficient and reliable. ||We'd recommend catching the ferry to Magadino (20 minutes, and free with the Ticino ticket) where there is a lovely (stoney) beach. The trip on the Furnicular (and the church at the top) was well worth a visit. We caught the Centovalli Train to Domodosolla (over the border in Italy), which passes through stunning landscapes. Travel on this train is free with Ticino ticket as fas as the border with Itally. Another trip was on the 321 bus to the village of Sonogno (again, free with the Ticino ticket).||We'd highly recommend this hotel if visiting Locarno.

I spent 3 weeks in September, wonderful reception from staff, great service, lovely area, easy walk into town, 3 blocks from Migro for self catering in family rooms. Fenicula to Madonna del sasso, and cable to Cardada. By boat to local villages and down to Stresa in Italy. Wonderful holiday.

Lovely aparthotel that is central & easy to get to from station.|Swimming pool with sunbeds to relax when back from sightseeing.|Friendly staff, breakfast was included. |It was great to have cooking facilities as Switzerland can be expensive for eating out. |Central on lake - balcony was decked out nicely and pizzeria next door did marvelous gluten free take away pizzas so we were happy about this.|Recommend this place if you want laid back, central, relaxing and a friendly self catering option. |

I could not recommend this hotel highly enough. We were a family of 4 and got adjoining rooms. The rooms were spacious and even had little kitchenettes. It is three star so not super fancy but it is very clean, the pool is great and the beds very comfy. The service and atmosphere is what makes this hotel exceptional! We played table tennis and borrowed some bikes to Ride to the neighbouring town. The location is excellent (and view from lake front rooms beautiful), it is right on the lake and only 5-10 min walk from town. Thank you to the managers of Aparthotel Al Lago for making us feel so welcome and for making our trip to Locarno a favourite!

We went for the moon&stars festival. I was suprise to find such a quality offer in most likely the busiest week of the year. But fully met our expectations! The room was located on the ground floor...so first question: lake view? The very very friendly staff told me, for sure. Thus is more than true, you even get a garden on top! Room itself was really big and bathroom was very modern and comfortable! Make sure to ask for parking reservation when you book, since limited space. We did not and staff told us that there is a affordable parking 3 minutes drive away. Even better, since it was a very nice walk from there alongside the lake! Breakfast was really good. The hotel has a pool, what we did not expect to be available in an aparthotel,but really nice and refresher before going to the music festival. Thank you Aparthotel Al Lago! We enjoyed our stay a lot!
