We stayed in late September 2022 in 60a. Although fairly basic instead of luxurious, Portsea Place is nevertheless comfortable with everything needed for a stay which was focused on getting out and about. It also had a fully equipped kitchen which we made use of. The best thing however was the proximity to Salamanca Markets, only a short walk away, perfect for stocking up on goodies and then dropping them back at the accommodation before exploring further. The Battery Point area is full of lovely shops and cafes and picturesque old cottages and water views, perfect for an afternoon wander. Hobart CBD is only about 10 minutes walk so nice and close.

It was comfortable, nothing like the pictures on the web- I think we got a C grade room that wasn't shown. No privacy blinds- so if blind up everyone can see stright in as your on the street front Simple room bed and couch For a 3 night stay surprising only 1 towel each and a small bottle of body wash- rooms were not maintained while there either so maybe a few more towels and travel sizes. Tea bags were from the packet which was a bit yuck as I don't know how long they have been there or touched. Individual wrapped ones would be a better choice. No where to really unpack and set up if staying for a long period. Convenient location though as at the end of the street was the ward so easy to walk for markets and food

Great budget location but has it's drawbacks. Heard people vomiting and screaming outside all night.

We stayed here for 3 nights and really love the location. The old building has character and the room has everything you need.||It is literally a short walk to Salamanca Markets and the rest of Battery Point. Not far into the city either.||The kitchen has everything thing you need including a Nespresso pod machine which is so much nicer than instant coffee.||Parking is available for $5 a day which is handy as many places close to Hobart city don’t have parking.||I would definitely stay here again.

We booked 3 deluxe studio apartments. Each deluxe apartment had 3 rooms - kitchen, bathroom and bedroom with lounge. Deluxe apartments are located on the top floor. Aspartment was clean, spacious and quiet. Parking is available out the back via a driveway off Hampden Road. Just down the road is Chemist Warehouse, Society cocktail bar and Jackman and Ross bakery in Hampden Road. Also you are close to Salamamca markets and many restaurants.

Perfectly situated a short walk from Salamanca, this charming little place was perfect. Small - yes, but comfortable. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The ability to park your car behind the accommodation was terrific as parking in such a prime location could otherwise be a bit tricky.

I have just spent 4 nights and could highly recommend. The apartment had everything you require for a comfortable stay including a full kitchen. The place is clean. The bed is a king and very comfortable. The bathroom is not large but the shower had plenty of pressure. There is no bath or washing machine if you require that. The location is great and a short walk down to Salamanca place. There is a nice bakery and pub just down the road on Hampden St. If you have trouble with stairs ask for a ground floor apartment. Thanks for a nice stay.

On the basis that you get what you pay for, we didn’t pay much, which was $280 for two nights. |We tried to either cancel or change the booking two days out due to illness and despite the best attempts of the third party booking platform they were unable to get approval for either, from the accommodation manager.|I tried to directly message him 4 times on the day of check in and got no response whatsoever. Nothing. So we went ahead with the short stay rather than lose 100% of the booking fee. |The place is ok. It was empty I think when we were there but we still ended up in a room facing directly onto the street. The bed was ok. The heat pump over the bed warmed the room quickly. |It was ok. It was basic. Clean enough. Not brilliant and not appalling but the lack of any response to multiple attempts to contact management left a sour taste. |I’d book a hotel in town next time which has some sort of options to either rebook or get a refund if something g goes wrong two days out.
