I had a great stay at this temporary accommodation. The location is fantastic—just steps away from public transport, which made commuting a breeze. There’s a beautiful park nearby, perfect for relaxing after work, and plenty of shops within walking distance for all your essentials. Highly recommend for anyone looking for convenience and comfort during their stay!

I'm travelling to Basel very often for business and I tried already many different hotels. Last time I wasn't able to find a place in the usual hotels so I decided book an apartment in Spalenring 10, and I was so happy I did it. Markus, the owner, is very welcoming and friendly, the apartment is big with all you need for a confortable stay and the price is reasonable compared to other places in Basel. Free Wi-Fi connectivity worked fine. The connections to the city center with public transportation are just perfect, the tram stop is nearby and it takes few minutes to reach the most important spots in Basel. So I would definitely recommend this place.

It was a very quiet place where we could hear the birds in the morning. The garden was beautiful and Markus is a very kind and warm person. When we checked in, all the rooms were spic and span, the towels carefully placed and a tiny Toblerone on top to say "Welcome!" and we did feel very welcome. ||||The apartment is close to 2 stations on Tram no 1, which is very convenient. ||||The beds are soft and really nice. A good night's rest can make all the difference. ||||The kitchen is well equipped. ||||We experienced a very nice stay. We hope to come back to Basel and to stay with Marcus whenever its possible again.

The place is well located but the inside of apartment has old furniture and is rather dusty. Besides the dusty interior, Markus, is a rather hostile host. We had two extended stays, and felt he advertised things that were just not available, ultimately. He advertises free internet but the internet was very weak to non-existent- it was non existent even at 3 AM when there were few other users. When we approached him to address the issue, little to nothing was done, and we had to come up with our own solution. He advertises free parking yet when we asked him to park a relative’s car who visited for mere hours, he was rude, unhelpful and made sure we could never dare ask again. We still asked again, later, as we paid to have access to parking and he acted as it was a favor- when it again, was for mere hours. The entire time we were always very considerate of other guests and often just hung clothes in apartment after washing to not take up space in drying room. We hung up clothes downstairs during our final days there, and he literally screamed at us for “taking up the whole house”. I do have reasons for saying that he treats white European guests better than non white guests. We had a longer stay there- 3-4 summer months- and never ever used the garden, barely even stepped foot in the backyard, as we not dare ask him to use it knowing he would be rude, inhospitable and some form of insulting. we did not even feel comfortable to step in garden area to avoid feeling we were not allowed there by Markus. There are many other nice places to stay in Basel, it is simply not worth the risk of repeatedly being treated dis-respectully by Markus. We recommend you go elsewhere. We sure wish we had.

As an infrequent business traveler to Basel, I have relied on the company preferred hotels for my stays there. However, for my last trip, as all of these hotels were booked, I was fortunate enough to find accommodation at the Apartments Spalenring 10. The booking process was very simple and the instructions that were sent to me regarding connecting with Marcus, my host, were very straightforward and clear. My advice is that you read these instructions so pay attention to them. Markus is extremely charming and welcoming. The studio I had rented for my three day stay is perfectly located 1/2 way between the central train station and the airport and public transportation is just across the street. The studio had everything I could want and was exceptionally clean and neat. The kitchen was stocked with all necessary kitchenware should I have wanted to cook my own meals (fridge, stove, pots and pans, cooking utensils, dishes, glasses and silverware). Two grocery stores are within a block or so of the apartments. The bed was comfortable and there is TV and internet service. Although the building is an older building, my stay there met all my needs for being quiet, clean and convenient. The bonus was the service provided to me by Marcus. My major form of communication with him was via texting and email. His response time is noteworthy and so appreciated. He even went out of his way to figure out how to get a forgotten item to me after I had returned to the U.S. I left feeling good about having stayed there and I would definitely use those accommodations again.

It was my initial days in Basel where i stayed in this place(Apartments Spalenring10). Initial days are very important for any trip to get that comfort and get used to new place. i was fortunate to be in this hotel, where i got help from Marcus. Marcus gave lot of information about the city and was supportive. Felt like at home. Kitchen is clean and it has all the things that are needed for cooking. Also location is very good, and very close to shops and public transport. You get free tickets for public transport. ||||Thank you Marcus and hope to see you in the future again.

Another fabolous time in Markus's Apartment which is home away from home for me and wife. Although I missed staying at his place for Fasnach festival he got me the apartment as soon as it is available.||Location is fantastic next to supermarkets, tram stops etc, What else can you ask for if you are in Basel for 2 weeks on a working trip.||Best part is I get to run with Markus (the host) and he took me to Allschwil - cross country along beautiful outskirts of the city. Just wonderful!!!

The apartment is great - cool location, very well equipped. It's close to the center and easily accessible. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and we were quite at home in Markus flat! Communication was easy, as was check-in. highly recommended!
