The only thing better than the food is the staff! I think over the past 2 days we've tried about 1/2 of the menu (my wife and I like trying new things). We went 2 nights in a row and brought friends the 2nd night it was so good. The young man and woman that took care of us both nights were absolutely amazing and we'll be back often.

Google
The food is great! It's hard to find such flavorful options! My husband didn't even reach for the salt and pepper - no need! The tandoori chicken and chicken saag were so good! Their garlic chili naan was great! The mint chutney is always amazing. The staff are very friendly, as well!

Google
This place is incredible! The food is outstanding and so fresh and the staff is friendly. My husband and I always have a wonderful time whenever we go here. Also, the best mango lassi I’ve tried in Chattanooga. Their signature Apnas Naan is a must try!

This was my first time at apnas kitchen and I’m also new to Tennessee. The area seemed a tad bit sketchy to me. But who am I to say. The food was 9/10 but the service is what lacked. I’m not sure if it was because they are all Indian and were nervous because I’m American? Or what? But forgot my tomato soup and never asked if the food was good or if I had any problems. As long as no stomach problems I would go back, I’ve come to learn living here you need to pick and choose your battles, good food first.

This place is a treasure. The Chicken 65 appetizer is spectacular and addictive. I can't get enough of the garlic naan, either. We've yet to try anything here that isn't wonderful, but man the Chicken 65 is worth writing about.

Google
We ordered both chicken and goat biryani to-go. The goat biryani was really good—flavorful and cooked well! But the chicken biryani wasn’t very spicy, and the chicken pieces weren’t great. The dine-in ambience looked nice though, so we’ll definitely come back and try it again next time.

Google
What a delightful restaurant. The food was delicious, and the service was wonderful. We stopped in for a late lunch because we were shopping down the street at the antique mall. I was slightly apprehensive because we were the only ones there at 3pm on a Tuesday. I’m honestly surprised at how good our food was. A few families trickled in before we left and they had a few pick-up orders as well so I’m glad to see their business stays consistent. I’d be so sad to see them go anywhere. We will definitely be back soon. We stuck with common menu items this round so I’m excited to try more of their menu next time.

Not so comfy seating as the seats are very old and my wife sat on a spring. The food is good. We had the veggie samosas and chicken tikka masala. There wasn’t a lot of chicken in it so if you are not big on meat, that would be ok for you. I, on the other hand, wish it had double the chicken. Only one staff member was very nice. The others not so much at all. If you want to try, I recommend order to-go.

Yelp
No Frills, Just Superb Indian Cuisine! Dining here for lunch was an unexpected delight! Having eaten at a few Indian restaurants, the quality of the ingredients and the commingling of distinct flavors really tantalized the senses and the palate. If we said "Wow" once, we said it a dozen times! I've lived in India and worked there and this place is as good as being there food-wise. We ate the following and EVERY SINGLE DISH was outstanding: Mixed Pakora appetizer (oh my!), Saag Paneer (who knew this vegetarian dish with tofu could be so amazing!) served with perfectly cooked Basmati Rice, Lamb Tikka Masala (with Basmati Rice) (lamb was melt-in-your-mouth good!), Garlic Naan was excellent and ended with light and refreshing rice pudding! We will most definitely return to this impressive Indian restaurant in Chattanooga! Now a top favorite! Hands down!!! Excellent and attentive service!

Yelp
Being that it had been over a decade since I had eaten Indian, our server, Johnny, was so helpful in our ordering. I informed him that I enjoyed lamb, vegetables and naan, and he knew exactly what to recommend to our utmost approval. He also took us on a lovely tasting of Indian beer that I will not soon forget. If considering Indian, this is your choice!!! Apna Kitchen and our server, Johnny, far exceeded our expectations. We left well satiated and thankful to God for the experience.

Yelp
I went to this Indian place a couple of months ago on my way to visit my sister-in-law. Here is a summary of my experience of this place and its food. -- Ambiance 3.5/5: Nothing great. This looks like a hole-in-the-wall place that resembles a college cafeteria. From outside it looked like small local joint but I was craving for Indian food and wanted to try it. --- Service 4/5: The service was a little slow but the good thing was that they ensured we had things on our table and our table was never empty once it started coming. -- Food 3/5: This is where my major issue is and I did not like some of the taste of it. Here is the summary of what we had: First the good, this is the first Indian restaurant in the USA which serves you free papad. I have never seen this anywhere so this was a delight. Coming on to the food we ordered: 1. Aloo Chana Chaat: The chaat did not have enough yogurt and did not taste good. There was a lot of sour chutneys and not enough sweet chutney to balance it. 2. Gobhi Manchurian: The gobhi Manchurian tasted raw. Once the layer was out you could see raw cauliflower in it. The quantity was low and was pricey as well. 3. Garlic Naan: This was good but one of the costliest naan that we have ever had 4. Gajar Halwa: This is the most disappointing in my opinion. It didn't taste anything like gajar halwa and hat grated coconut pieces in it. I had never seen it before and the taste tasted like nothing. Very disappointing and not recommended at all. -- Value for Money 2/5: I felt that this place was costly for the food taste and ambiance that they had. Overall, not recommended from my end unless you are really craving Indian food and there is nothing nearby plus you have deep pockets. Also Gajar halwa is a big NO here.

Yelp
Authentic Indian cuisine! Butter chicken with butter Naan bread is my favorite! They prepare it perfectly. The Spring rolls are delicious too.

Alyssa V.

Yelp
Food is delicious! Got the vegetables samosas, butter chicken masala, and garlic naan. Staff was friendly.

Yelp
The Malai Kabab is THE BOMB! Best Indian dish I've eaten and they do it sooo well! Get this! Everything I've eaten at Apna Kitchen is wonderful, no complaints! All the curries, chicken tikka masala, the naan, the roti...it's all good.

Radhi C.

Yelp
Would give 10 stars if I could - driving back from Isha Institute of Inner Sciences in Tennessee after, and stopped on the way back home here to pickup a quick snack. We got harabhara Kabab and masala tea for takeout. Harabhara Kabab was bursting with flavor and masala tea was spot on!! Wish we had time to sit down and explore other menu options

Yelp
Tried this restaurant for take out for the first time. Overall, very satisfied with the food. The inside looked quite clean and like it would be a nice place to dine in as well. My grubhub order was done within reasonable time and staff were friendly. I had the chicken biryani. Really all good things to say about this. It had all the spices, excellent flavor, decently spicy. If you like it really spicy probably ask for that. It has white meat chicken which was great quality with great flavor. Portion size decent. The raita was also quite good that comes with it. Chicken 65 was standard good. I think it's a little overpriced for what you get, but it is really good. It's probably a little better when dining in. Tikka Masala definitely a reliable entree for anyone. Great flavor, chicken was great, comes with rice. I would say especially if you want biryani, this is the best I've found in Chattanooga. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend. It is slightly more expensive than average but I think the quality of the food makes up for it.

Yelp
Quality food for a reasonable price. They prepared it very quickly and the server was very attentive. The restaurant is exactly what you'd expect on the inside of an Indian kitchen. The server did have a hard time understanding English but was patient and asks me to repeat myself so she knew she heard me correctly.

Yelp
Excellent Indian food! Found this little gem in East Ridge with my date. So much yummy food! I would have eaten more food if I had the stomach space for it. At least I have leftovers to enjoy later. They are very friendly. Even said they'll give us a discount the next time we come by. I will be telling others of this place.
google avatar

Yelp
We love this place. It is a little pricey but we always take home leftovers so we get two meals out of it. The samosas were spicy but still good, extra thankful for the tamarind chutney they provided. We ordered the malai kofta and mushroom mutter and both were awesome! Kitschy decor, kinda fun to reminisce about Pizza Hut's hey day when you're there. Excellent service. Friendly and made sure we had everything we could need. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Apna Kitchen is delicious and I highly recommend! I cannot emphasize enough how good Apna Kitchen is, except to say that it is my new favorite Indian food restaurant. Where does one begin?? I will start with my favorite part, the food......ahhh the fresh tandoori bread, aka naan. Apna's Special Naan, because they do truly have a special naan that did not disappoint. It will be hard to ever waver to order any other tandoori bread because it was so excellent. I ordered the chicken Korma (extra spicy, because I love the heat). They even had extra spice for the side available if you just cannot get enough. Their mint chutney was very good and fresh as well. And the tamarind chutney was delish. Since this was the first visit, my friends also shared their dishes to sample taste the Chicken Tiki Marsala (a classic staple) and the Chicken Methi Mushroom. So much flavor! Next time if I don't get the Chicken Korma again, I will have to try a couple of other favorite "go to" dishes like Saag Paneer or Dal Tadka. For dessert, I got to enjoy the wonderful Kheer. Its a most balanced and deliciously mild, sweet rice pudding. My friends had Mango Lassis that were tasty too. Yum! Finally, can you say amazing rice? Go ahead and say it again. Some of the kiddos got the egg friend rice and I about fell out. Beautiful food and soo flavorful. All the food here was just the best. The staff we kind and did an excellent job as well. Joni was awesome, attentive, and took the best care of our large table. Such an enjoyable dinner experience with all around the best of the best food. Cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
I visited with my family while we were on our way to Gatlinburg. The place is clean and everything we ordered was good. Johnny and team provided good service. Food ordered: pakoras, chicken biryani, chicken curry, naan, aloo parantha, tandoori roti, chai Chai must try. Really good
google avatar

Reginald A.

Yelp
Chicken biryani is great. Medium spicy is perfect. I don't really dig the little wafer appetizer.
google avatar

Gray S.

Yelp
I've been here twice since they opened and both visits were excellent. The service was prompt and friendly. We ordered the lamb rogan josh was tasty - would have ordered things spicier but I had a toddler with me. This may be my favorite Indian food in Chattanooga. Definitely worth a try.
google avatar

Joe R.

Yelp
The butter chicken was phenomenal! Butter naan was insanely good. Had that perfect amount of glistening from the butter and had a light crispy bite which gave the bread the perfect texture. Great service!
google avatar

Paige E.

Yelp
So delicious. Had chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. I asked for spicy and it was perfectly spiced. Extra kick while still being creamy and flavorful. The staff was friendly and attentive and always kept our waters full. Would definitely come back and try more of the menu!
google avatar

Ermiyas B.

Yelp
Apna Kitchen is a gem! The food was delicious and flavorful with generous portions. I had the goat kadai, which was outstanding--tender and perfectly spiced. Great ambiance and friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Saumya B.

Yelp
This place gives authentic home cooked food taste. Must visit! I tried vegetarian food.

Maddie R.

Yelp
Was driving through Tennessee when our car broke down in Chattanooga and we had to spend the night. Apana was open late and was more than happy to serve us just after 9. and Really friendly server jony, fast service, and the food was great! We left with extra. The chana masala was delicious and so was the garlic naan. Definitely a must!
google avatar

Tallie W.

Yelp
Come with a group and order anything and everything that sounds interesting and pass the dishes around - you won't regret it and will learn a lot more about what interesting flavors and textures you like. We have really enjoyed the cold appetizers and lassi. The Chat Pakora is excellent, and their tender eggplant dishes warm your insides like a hug from an old friend you haven't seen in ages. It's nice to have a local Indian restaurant in the heart of East Ridge with so many options.
google avatar

Marinda C.

Yelp
Fantastic Indian. The samosas were so good and normally I don't like those. I had the fish curry, as well as Shahi paneer korma along with some other stuff that I cannot remember the name of anymore. It was all delicious and my friend and I left very full.
google avatar

Geoff P.

Yelp
My wife and I came across this gem while visiting family. We had the pleasure of eating here twice. The kitchen's spice game is on point. The saag paneer was excellent! The balance of garlic, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, cumin and chili pepper was welcoming and delicious. My wife's aloo gobi was full bodied, tasty and filling. The chutney and tamarind sauce added extra dimensions to already wonderful food. The chai and gulab jamun were an excellent end to the meal. If you are looking for a great place to eat or try Indian food, give this place a go. I look forward to coming back.

Anthony S.

Yelp
Spent $90 and couldn't even get a side of rice? Tikka was so dry it was inedible. Chilli chicken wasn't as dry but eh. Pakora was ok. Spring rolls were over cooked

Deekshit K.

Yelp
Worst food as well as worst service by mukesh He was very rude to customers Will never visit again
google avatar

Yelp
Great Indian food! We've dined in and taken out several times. Always good! I highly recommend it!

Pam A.

Yelp
MUST DO! Authentic seasonings: goat, samosas, naan special & ras malai...so fabulous that words can't describe but taste buds can. The best Punjabi meal in my life

Missy C.

Yelp
Great food and great service. Not in the picture - but my husband also had the Naan which was very good. I can't eat gluten and they were very helpful with helping me pick dishes that were okay for me to eat. The food was slightly spicy but the servers were excellent in keeping our water glasses full. We shared three dishes and had enough leftovers for another meal at home! I highly recommend!

Keith D.

Yelp
We tried them on a whim and we really enjoyed the Butter Chicken. Definitely good to go back

Madison D.

Yelp
The best Indian food ever!!!! Service is also great always. It's addicting so beware!

Yelp
Was very excited to try this out since there are very few indian restaurants which serve good dishes . The ambience was good . Spacious and clean. Ordered starters , the Chicken didn't feel fresh as it should for the chilli chicken and the malai chicken was way dry . The butter chicken was really good and the chicken was fortunately much fresh than starters. The Goat curry was good too and also the meat . Overall an OK first time experience , we will head back to try a few more dishes before we can make up our minds.

Yelp
My favorite Indian restaurant in the entire area!! Everything we ordered was perfection, and my kids discovered how much they love Indian cuisine.

M L.

Yelp
Food and service were excellent. Was suggested a few items I'd never had before and loved them all. Not pictured - a unique naan that was filled with crushed pistachios and other things. DELICIOUS!

Michael J.

Yelp
Delicious and friendly. Very authentic Indian cuisine. Only the Raita could have been made a bit thicker.

Robert P.

Yelp
Best Indian food in Chattanooga! Service is friendly and prompt. Have not had a bad meal yet.
google avatar

Corey R.

Yelp
This is the best Indian food in all of Chattanooga. If you are new to giving this food a try I got you. Order the chicken korma and the special nan. It will change your life for the better. We eat here a few times a month now and will continue to do so.

Maelee J.

Yelp
Stellar service and spectacular food! Great place to visit with friends! Authentic Indian food is hard to find, but this was a gem!
google avatar

Latricia G.

Yelp
Great food and very friendly service! The best Indian food we have had in the Chattanooga area. We will be back!
google avatar

DocAviator R.

Yelp
Had lunch here today. Absolutely awesome food, very flavorful and perfect. They are new and just weeks old, and I understand improvements are being made, but they sure do have the food dialed in. Had the chicken vindaloo with garlic naan. Will be back for more.
google avatar

Daniel M.

Yelp
F*cking horrible. My dish was supposed to have goat meat, not goat bones and fat, the chicken korma wasn't seasoned properly, the naan was subpar and the prices were too high for terrible Indian cuisine. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the staff was really nice. If you're gonna pay these prices, you'd might as well go to India Mahal where they know what they're doing.

Tamara H.

Yelp
This restaurant is a hidden gem on ringgold road in Chattanooga Tennessee. The food is fabulous I've been there several times and each time I get something different everything is wonderful. The service is really good. The people are very nice. I try to make it there at least twice a month. So far in October I have made it three times. And I am never disappointed. The portions are huge, I always come away with the to-go box. I just can't say enough good things about this place. If you go there take friends so they can all enjoy it too

Jessi O.

Yelp
Honestly the food is pretty good but it is way overpriced. Small portions and the employees tried to charge me for so many extra things.

Jill C.

Yelp
First time and it was outstanding! Friendly. clean and delicious food. even the other guests were helpful in helping us decide what to eat. they have a scale of heat so all pallets get maintained. highly recommen!

William R.

Yelp
The food here is by far the BEST Indian cuisine in Chattanooga and maybe even Tennessee. I highly recommend.

Kim C.

Yelp
Great food! Fast service. Perfect place for gluten free vegetarians! Authentic music videos.
google avatar

Bree M.

Yelp
If you've not been to Apna's you should definitely try it out! This just might be a new favorite restaurant. Great food, service, and vibes. The food was very flavorful. We will be back.

Hannah K.

Yelp
Ordered takeout while in town on a business trip. The food was absolutely wonderful. I had chicken korma, garlic naan, and a mango lassi. They threw in a little sample of a dessert too! Not sure what it was, but it was also delicious. Food took 15 minutes as quoted. I'll definitely be back!

Wil K.

Yelp
First try of this restaurant & it was enjoyable. Very accommodating for needing certain foods left out of diet. Willing to make us ginger lassi for our son that wasn't on menu. Overall the food was good & some items were great! Naan was fresh & fluffy. Vegetables weren't cooked until grey. Topped with fresh onion & cilantro on some dishes that made it look appealing. Some dishes tasted a little different than we were used to but it was good & we like variety. Decor was as expected for a mom & pop local eatery but very clean; especially appreciated clean bathrooms! Nice use of an old Pizza Hut building. :)
