Apolafsi Complex

Wow! My husband and I have just got home from our 2 week stay at this beautiful, family run hotel. The rooms were comfortable and kept fabulously clean by the cleaning team. The pool area was suitably sized for the number of guests, had a lovely pool bar and was a fantastic place to sit and watch the swifts swoop and glide. The food in the restaurant is simply fabulous. All of the staff are welcoming and helpful and keen to make sure everyone has a brilliant stay. Home cooked food and excellent portions. It is in an excellent location . It's a 15 minute walk to supermarkets and the town of Lixouri in one direction and 15 minutes in the other direction gets you to the large but relaxed beach of Lepeda. There are also small beaches at the bottom of the road from the hotel. We will definitely return and as soon as we are able!

An absolute gem of a hotel with a family feel we have had the greatest 14 day stay. The rooms are clean comfortable and well equipped with large patios and good air conditioning The pool is fabulous with a sea view and a great pool bar serving food and drinks and ice creams. There are plenty of sun beds and parasols with lots of comfortable seating areas providing shade.|Now to the food and the restaurant… wow. Wonderful freshly cooked food , honestly one of the best restaurants you will find on the island (and we have tried many). The breakfasts are also really good with a buffet style service ranging from cooked breakfasts, continental style, toast, cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts and pastries |The restaurant has amazing sea views and the staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble they are a credit to the hotel. |Honestly you must try the Apolafsi and you will not regret it.|Many thanks to Babis and his team for making our holiday so special… see you next year |Jo and Rob Atkinson

Fabulous studios, all the staff are so welcoming and do an amazing job, that includes the cleaners!||||The food in the restaurant on site is the best in the area, proper home cooked Greek food. We thoroughly enjoyed every meal. You have to try the beef stifado, I’ve been trying to find the authentic recipe with shallots for over 35 years and I found it here! You need to try it! Amazing! Fabulous views from the restaurant too. ||||We stayed in a standard studio, very comfy double bed with proper pillows, slept very well! Great bathroom with walk-in shower (always had hot water) the kitchen had everything we needed and a bonus having a freezer compartment in the fridge! Good sized wardrobe with plenty of drawer space too. Lovely balcony with great views. ||||The pool area has stunning views, new comfy sun beds, pool is a good size. Pool bar selling drinks/snacks. Lots of seats in shaded areas too. For the first few days we didn’t see one towel on the sun beds in the morning, even late afternoon, we had no problem getting a sun bed. ||||Lixouri is 20/25 mins walk, lovely square with restaurants/shops. All our meals out were very nice. Nice beach near the harbour too with a beach shack serving drinks/snacks and sun beds. If you are unable to walk this far, you can get a taxi €7 one way. ||||The nearest organised beach - Lepeda is 15 mins walk or 5 mins in car, nice beach with a taverna/sun beds. Our favourite beach in the area was Vatsa Bay, gorgeous bay with sun beds and lovely restaurant followed closely by Lagadakia beach. I would highly recommend that you hire a car to access some of the other beaches nearby and to explore the other beautiful areas of Kefalonia. I personally prefer Lixouri area and Apolafsi makes it feel like the old Greek holidays I experienced over 20 years ago.

Love this hotel! Would definitely come back. The people are so kind and helpful. The rooms are basic but perfect for one or two weeks. It’s very clean, has a friendly atmosphere, great location and a beautiful view. Also the food is very good and they have a beautiful terrace. And it’s so nice to have the friendly dogs waking around and greeting you :)

The rooms are cleaned daily and to a good standard. The decor, as with so many places in Greece, is a bit dated, but the level of cleanliness outweighs this. The bed was comfortable and the shower was decent - even water pressure that was effective. The room I stayed in, my only two minor gripes were that the toilet seat was cracked on one side, and the way the outdoor light was positioned light shone into the room at all hours as about a third of the door was frosted glass.

Could not have wished for a better hotel, amazing staff, amazing food and drink and amazing views. Away from the hustle and bustle of lixouri but close enough to walk in to. This hotel is very chilled and has a brilliant atmosphere and is family run. The only negative for me was the beds, not very comfortable but that's personal choice. Can't fault the cleanliness either, cleaned on a daily basis and given fresh towels.

These apartments are clean; well equipped but dated. Perfect for a week's holiday by the sea. The pool area is clean with sun beds available and without getting up at silly o'clock to reserve them. All have paracels but the room round the pool is quite restricted as it is a small pool. Sometimes even with the paracels it was very hard to find any shade. The walk into town was a good 20 mins walk along a coastal road. If you went up the road, the opposite way you came to a beautiful beach, so the location was good as long as you don't mind walking to the beach or town. I would return here again.

Nice apartments with good airconditioning, very helpful and friendly staff. The room was cleaned everyday by the cleaning lady’s. Also recommend eating here. Very good food!!
