I am very sad to say that this was without a doubt the single worst experience I have had in a hotel in Greece in my 4 years of living and traveling in this country. On checkout the owners of the hotel announced that we would have to pay an additional €45 charge for an extra half day stay (despite not informing us we had stayed beyond checkout). We checked in at 3pm a few days before, and checked out at 8pm for a boat at 3am that night. The hotel did not call us to check on our checkout until 8pm, at which point we immediately left. This price of €45 (half one night fee) was also higher than the rate we paid online for the rooms (€80 per night). They also then added an additional €15 fee for a “climate tax” (which is not clearly listed at booking). This was a €5 per night fee which they do not include in their booking costs, but charge you at the end. Also, hilariously, they added this for the half day that we never stayed! At the end at checkout it felt as if we had been mafia strong armed, when we contested these fees they threatened to call the police on us, screamed at us, and refused to discuss in any rational way. To all travelers; the prices of the rooms are already very high for what they are, and I recommend to everyone considering staying at Apollon that they look around Anafi, as there are many much better, and more affordable options. While the rooms are fine, and the views are very nice, you can have a much better experience elsewhere in Athens, and the location (far from Chora the main village & quite a way up from the beach is not ideal, and quite isolated compared to other accommodation options). Be aware also that the grounds of the hotel are in poor condition, very sanitized and unloved, and the “pick up” service occurred in a beat up old red Nissan. Usually I wouldn’t care about these things, but based on our treatment it feels fair and right to mention them. Please do your research, read these reviews alongside mine and stay somewhere else. Greece and Greeks are famous for their kindness, hospitality and generosity. You will find none of that here. I have no doubt the owners will reply to this with a great deal of information about why they are right, they are very combative and aggressive. Take my advice and look elsewhere for a place to make your wonderful Anafi holiday!

Salty service and not a friendly, hospitable vibe which you'd expect for a place that costs €300+ a night. The pool and the breakfast are nice though.

Apollo is a nice and decent accommodation option at Kleisidi beach in Anafi overlooking with lovely views of the island as it is on a hill. The beach is lovely on walkable distance and also Anafi town so location is excellent. We stayed in a big room very clean with beautiful balcony but the rooms definitely need serious refurbishment. A bit overpriced I think but a decent accommodation option. The charge coffee 4 euros which is extremely high for island prices.

Review for the rooms (not suites/villas): This “3-star hotel” is extremely overpriced for what it offers and the staff is very rude. They are only interested in exploiting their guests and making the most cash back with cheap little tricks - even if in some cases the hotel management might be on the right they have lost all perspective in their hospitality and how this island really is. From my personal experience you can find much cheaper accommodation for the same rooms. On the positive note the rooms look clean and they offer some nice extras like port shuttle (if they actually come pick you up at the port) but if you don’t feel like being spied upon in your accommodation, book somewhere else to stay (as also various other comments suggest)

Undeniably stunning views from all spots/rooms of the Hotel, which gives total privacy at all angles. Located on a steep slope over a beautiful beach with a great beach cafe.|The room was cleaned thoroughly every day, Sofia and the rest of the hired staff friendly and helpful even if very shy at first, which was tricky in the beginning. When breakfast is pre-booked/included in your rate, you get to choose between three set varieties. Changing it or just having parts of the large offerings would’ve been nice but didn’t seem to be possible. Strange. We got the allover feeling that they like to run everything how they want it rather than what the guest wishes for. Again strange idea of customer service.|40 year old bathroom was truly unacceptable for a night charged €175, even on a beautiful ,old school’ island. It is 2023! Neither was I keen on seeing the cleaning utensil being deposited in clear view in the bathroom. Not at that rate, sorry. Equally unacceptable was the ‘unwelcome’ offer for an early check-in charged at a whopping €100(!), especially when this island is used to the ,unfriendly’ ferry schedule. |On the contrary, the island’s vibe was incredibly laid-back and beautiful, def recommended. Most likely better served with a self-catering studio next time. Or trying the one other Hotel…

We have just returned from Anafi and stayed at the most wonderful suite. Everything about it was great from the bathroom to the living area to the patio to the pool to the view. The family were lovely and so accommodating. They even let us have the hire car for an extra day. One of the most beautiful parts of Greece we have ever been in the last 25 years. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to escape from the madness of today's world.
