I've been wanting to go to this rooftop bar for the longest time! Honestly, I think what stopped me was that I was feeling a little intimidated! The bar is located in a cool-looking, boutique hotel with a history. I thought it used to be a mental hospital, but maybe it was a regular hospital? Not sure.
Anyway, I thought the bar was going to be dressy and/or trendy and filled with 20-somethings. Now granted, we were there on a Monday, at 7pm, but the place was cute, comfortable, welcoming, and had a killer view! What was I thinking? This is New Mexico and one of the things I love about this state is that there are not a lot of pretentious people or businesses!
Seemed like about half the people were hotel guests. There were 4 in our group and two actually were 20 years old.
The menu had drinks and appetizers. No full meals and no desserts. Note to management: you really should at least offer dessert. It's a perfect venue to visit for late-night dessert and a night cap!
I was the only one who didn't order the prickly pear drink. (Two were ''virgin'' style! ) They all liked the drinks and I have to say that they were very pretty!
I can't remember what my drink was called but the main ingredient was Champagne and a secondary ingredient was some type of pear liqueur. All I tasted was the Champagne so that was a little disappointing. I'll try something different next time!
Many of the drinks had ''bitters'' in them. I don't know what that is but it didn't sound like something I'd like.
Our group had already had dinner so I can't speak to the food but it looked good!
Clearly I'm going to have to go back and update this review!
Oh, one more tip for management (that I know will never happen! ). There's a big double-billboard that is smack-dab in the middle of the photos of the views facing west. They're most visible at night, which is when many of your customers take their shots. I think you should rent the billboards and put up an ad for your hotel...with a black background! Win-win, right?
