"Slow Roast Roman Romance There’s nothing particularly fancy about Appia. The prices are very reasonable and the menu at the classic trattoria-style venue just about fills one side of A4 paper. What makes it special is the provenance of the ingredients and the evident passion that fuels chef Paolo Vitaletti’s Roman-style cuisine. The house-made pasta dishes sing with Italian authenticity. Also special, meanwhile, is the venue’s porchetta – pork stuffed with fennel pollen, garlic and rosemary, which is roasted behind the bar."

We had dinner here last night, we made last minute reservations and didn't actually have a table but we did get reservations at the counter/bar where we watched every dish prepared. The restaurant was full and every dish was made in such an organized fashion. Omg the head chef was so organized, nothing was rushed. Such a nice young man too. The service was great, the staff is very attentive to each customer. We ordered Kale salad, chicken liver pate, oxtail, crispy lamb ribs and the lemon dessert. All the dishes were very good, The chicken liver pate was our favorite and based on how many orders were prepared it's a restaurant favorite and one of the signature dishes. We will be back again. PS sitting at the counter/bar gave us a different perspective watching all the dishes prepared and looking at the final dish. It's one thing to read the menu description and it's another thing to see the actual dish once it's prepared. One dish that we probably will order when we go back is the seafood pasta.

One of the best Italian restaurants in Bangkok. Authentic traditional cuisine from Rome, makes me feel like home and it’s a comfort food when I miss my country. The crostini with liver pâté will melt in your mouth and it’s a unique delicacy to find it in Bangkok! And the tiramisu is the real one, like my mum does it. If you’re looking for a pizza this is not the place, they make plenty of delicious dishes that you wouldn’t find in regular Italian restaurants.

Very generous portions, great tasting food and good service. Atmosphere is nice too. We sat outside with our pet and it was still comfortable with a fan and music.

One of the best Italian Restaurant with a homie mama touch using high-quality ingredients and perfect cooking methods. I recommend the lamb chop, the tomato gnocchi with pork cheek, liver pate, and tiramisu. The staffs were friendly and attentive. The open kitchen bar gave a fun and inviting vibe. It is best to reserve before you go , cheers !

Been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and finally had the chance. Went for a date with my girlfriend at around 11.30 without booking so we could only sit outside or at the bar so you should book in advance if you would like an indoor table. I ordered the chicken liver pate, Troccoli with truffle, caprese salad and lamb ribs (waiter said we didnt have to wait 45mins so we ordered it). The foccacia came in quickly and tasted fine. Next the pate came with plenty of sourdough slices (avoid having too many slices since it is hard and sharp so it will cut the inside of your mouth if not careful). The pate was great. Next the caprese came and it was the weirdest caprese i ever had in my life as it tasted like ratatouille and not what i expected at all (i expected tomato slices with mozarella and some basil as all typical caprese should look like? Didnt enjoy it at all). It took 15-20mins after caprese was served before the rack of lamb arrived (so all in all we still had to wait almost 45 minutes for the lamb to be served). The lamb was well cooked and tasted great but after 2 pieces it was a little too fatty to continue to eat. Surprisingly the pasta arrived last and sadly the table that came in and order the food after us got the same dish before us…. When we asked the waitress, she said “oh 3 of that dish came out at the same time so yours will be arriving shortly” (should still serve the table that came in first though right?). Our pasta finally came and the waitress sliced black truffle onto our dish which looks great. The taste, however, was not to my personal liking as I could not smell the truffle at all and all i tasted was the grassy, muddy sauce… Safe to say I did not finish the pasta dish (2 bites and I could not continue). The waitress was nice enough to ask me how was the food and when I asked her about the lack of truffle smell, she said “a lot of customers comment on that but its the nature of the dish as the smell of sauce overpowers the smell of the truffle” (then why add the truffle?!). This meal costed us approximately 3,500 baht which in my opinion is better spent elsewhere. The atmosphere was nice and theres a parking lot next to the restaurant (shared with other restaurants).

Appia is a Roman-style Italian restaurant that’s always fully booked. We visited on January 1st without booking in advance but managed to get a table for 5:00-6:30 PM after calling just a few hours earlier. It was enough time for us to enjoy a meal. We ordered three dishes: • Mozzarella in Carrozza: Crispy, cheesy, and satisfying. • Australian Rib Eye Steak: Perfectly cooked and flavorful. • Mazara Red Prawn Risotto: Hands down, the best risotto I’ve ever had in Bangkok. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, but the seating is quite tight. Since we dined at 5:00 PM, the space wasn’t too crowded, and we had a bit of breathing room. However, if you’re seated next to a large group, the close proximity of the tables makes it hard to hear the person you’re dining with. Service was professional and up to the standard you’d expect from a restaurant like this. Overall, a great dining experience.

Loved the decor and greenery at the entrance. Service was prompt and staff were friendly. For me the star dish was the risotto and red prawn. It has a very strong seafood taste and was well salted. I also liked the cold cut had included slices of cheese and a bowl of cold vegetable. Dip was a small bowl of honey with bits of honey comb. Porketta skin was crispy but overly salted. But pork was tender inside. However, I don’t like the lamb ribs so much. They were a bit skinny and the meat was not juicy enough. There was a layer of skin instead of fat which I’m more used to in a lamb rack. Need to try the pasta and pizza to determine if this is the best Italian restaurant in Bangkok
