We recently stayed at this four-star hotel in Krabi and, while there are a few strengths worth mentioning, the overall experience did not meet the expectations that typically come with a four-star rating. I’m writing this review in hopes that it will help the management team identify areas that need improvement, because the hotel does have potential if the fundamentals are taken seriously.
To start with the positives, the hotel’s facilities are generally good. The pool area, especially the kids’ side, was a highlight of our stay. The slides were safe and fun, the water was clean, and our child truly enjoyed the time spent there. The layout of the resort is also pleasant, and the environment itself creates a relaxing atmosphere. Another positive point is the friendliness of some staff members, especially Ms. Tips. She consistently greeted us with a warm smile and stood out among the team for her genuine hospitality.
However, despite these positives, the condition and cleanliness of our room were the biggest disappointments. The moment we entered, we noticed that the room was dusty, and there were multiple strands of hair on the floor and in various corners. This immediately gave the impression that the housekeeping routine is not thorough, and the room may not have been properly checked before our arrival. The floor also felt sandy, which made the room feel unclean and uncomfortable.
While the bedsheets were clean, the overall maintenance of the room was lacking. The paint on the walls was chipping off, making the space look worn out and poorly maintained. The bathroom was also far below the standards expected of a four-star hotel. The toilet bowl cover was unstable, and the shower head was not adjustable, which made showering inconvenient. These details may seem minor individually, but together, they significantly affect the guest experience. They also signal that the upkeep and inspection processes need improvement.
We also visited the kids’ club, which we were initially excited about. Unfortunately, the cleanliness there was not up to standard either. A kids’ play area should have strict hygiene practices in place, as it’s a high-touch environment where germs can spread easily. It didn’t feel like the area was cleaned or sanitized properly, which made us hesitant to let our child play there for long.
Breakfast at the hotel was average. There was enough variety, but nothing particularly memorable in terms of taste or presentation. It served its purpose, but considering the hotel’s rating, there is room for improvement in both quality and overall dining experience.
There were also a few amenities that surprised us. The slippers provided were worn out and clearly used, which was quite disappointing for a hotel at this level — we even had to sanitise them ourselves before using them. The hairdryer felt more like something you’d find in a budget or two-star hotel, very basic and not in line with the hotel’s star rating. Additionally, no toothbrush or basic dental kit was provided, which we felt should be a standard amenity in a four-star property.
In summary, the hotel has good facilities and certain staff members who genuinely elevate the atmosphere, but the core fundamentals—clean rooms, well-maintained spaces, and consistent service—need significant attention. We hope the management takes this feedback constructively, because with proper improvements, the hotel can genuinely offer the four-star experience it aims to provide. Until then, the inconsistencies in cleanliness and maintenance make it difficult for us to confidently recommend or return.
