Airbnb Celebrates “Apollo 11” Moon Landing With $11 Stays in Spaceship-Inspired Rentals - AFAR

"A flying-saucer–style rental in South Pembrokeshire near the southern coast of Wales that sleeps four (one double and two twin beds). Quirky touches include a remote-controlled hatch and a monitor loaded with classic ’80s games like Space Invaders, making it especially fun for families and nostalgic travelers." - Lyndsey Matthews

I booked this for a 2 night stay for my son's birthday. Communication had been great up to a few days previous when I asked for help to book decorating the UFO with banners and balloons, despite me being willing to pay but unsure how, I got no response or help and on arrival this hadn't been done. |Upon arrival I called the number on the intercom panel and spoke to Connor, he seemed very nice and told me to let myself in which I did as he was on another site.|I have to say the fist impression was not great. The UFO looks pristine on the listing, in person it has numerous things not as expected, things broken and dirty. I went over to the communal kitchen/showers and found the worktops broken, full of mould and in need of replacing. There were no towels but luckily we had brought our own so we're able to shower. The showers were full of sand and dirty and flooding over into the main floor which was rather slippy underfoot.|When we woke up Saturday there was no electric in our "kitchen area" so I called Connor and he said he would be out to fix it. When we arrived from a day out at Tenby the electric still wasn't working, unable to get hold of Connor I spoke to the onsite cleaner who told me she would get in touch with someone and came and mopped out all the fridge and area where it had defrosted. Connor did text to let me know he had fixed it although he had misunderstood and thought it was the communal kitchen that had the problem. There was no hot water in the kitchen area for the UFO either.|I was going to use the bbq but found it dirty from previous uses so I didn't. |The only good thing I can say is my son was oblivious to all the issues as adults we see and I'm thankful he thought it was amazing. |Upon checking out I tried to contact Connor again but got no answer so we left the key in the UFO and sent a text.|At no time did I see any of the hosts or get a message or knock at our door to check everything was ok. For £340 a night i think it's overpriced and would not visit again despite it being close to a wonderful part of Wales.|The concept is great but the reality does not match the expectations that are advertised!

Stayed at apple for 2 weeks in the crate escape with my daughter. The location is perfect it is an absolute sun trap and so peaceful. The facilities on site were brilliant - we had a kitchen and toilet/shower in our unit but there were communal showers, toilets and cooking facilities as well as a shop on site which had a wide range of snacks, drinks and ice cream. Connor was really helpful with any of our requests. The only negative was that i couldn't extend my stay as i had to get back to work. Booked back in for November in the igloo and 2 bookings next summer in the Airbus and UFO. The kids cant wait & to be honest neither can i.

Me and my partner came here in April . | |Was greeted and taken to where we were staying shown where toilets , showers etc were , only problem was they told us the last guests took the key for the door home so we didn’t have a key to lock which made me feel on edge . And also the electric went , but was sorted straight away . ||We stayed in the southern hemisphere, and we loved it , cosy bed and comfy , loved the log burner . But there was a problem with ants they were everywhere.||The curtains were hanging down aswell .which wasn’t a problem , was just scared to pull them to close in case they fell down ||Bathroom|And shower area was clean , no bad experience there . ||Just wish it was lit up a bit more on a evening as was dark if u needed to use the loo , I also feel they need to make sure the decor is up to standards etc ( like curtains ) and the little touches . Making sure it’s properly cleaned.| |I did find it pricey for what it was , but it was a nice experience .

I booked the Lockheed jet for my plane mad sons it was a huge hit !! They loved being in the cockpit and staying in the jet overnight. Kitchen was outside, we had everything we needed, the weather lovely and the site quiet and peaceful it made a perfect stay over the school Easter holidays. Only regret I hadn’t booked for longer !! Staff really helpful and friendly when checking in. I debated driving into Tenby from the site or getting a taxi but as I was quoted £25 I decided to drive it in hope I’d find a space. It was a very short drive to Tenby. There was lots in the multi storey in Tenby when we arrived, we had lunch at the lifeboat tavern, a nice wander around the harbour and beaches. Then went to manor farm before relaxing in our jet early evening and having a domino’s delivered to the site. Facilities on site, eg shower and toilets were clean and tidy. There’s a little shop on site too. The UFO at night was illuminated and was a nice sight from our jet window !! Lots of other accommodation units to stay on site too like the pacman etc. We checked out and visited wedlock deer farm on the way home. A short but memorable stay. We have already booked for Easter 2026 staying in Apple air next time. Highly recommend staying here. You won’t be disappointed

Our family recently stayed in the converted Airbus at Apple Camping and had a wonderful time. The space was impressively large and comfortable, with lots of original features. The kids absolutely loved the quirkiness of staying in an airplane, and it was a delight to see their excitement. We arranged for the host to put Easter eggs in the plane, and it was a lovely surprise for the children, making our stay even more special. We will definitely be returning to explore their submarine and jet accommodations. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately I'll be leaving a negative review today. I booked a stay in the Jetstar for my plane obsessed autistic son. The cost was £249 for ONE night stay (of course, the experience seemed worth it to make kiddo happy) We drove 5.5 hours to get here, leaving at around 11am and finally arriving at 5pm. The woman showed us up to the plane, and let us get settled. As soon as we walked on the plane, the smell of mould hit our nostrils, and we fought through the smell, thinking it was just because the plane is old. My son went straight up to the cockpit, and tried to put the mask on his face (which I QUICKLY removed as it was covered in gunk and mould) the cockpit itself isn't in the best of conditions, but my son saw past it and continued to play. We investigated the rest of the plane, working out how to turn the lights on and where the xbox is located. We eventually found the xbox, but upon further investigation, discovered that the discs were all in the wrong boxes and scratched up from previous customers. At one point we couldn't even get a game out. My son eventually gave up and just watched his ipad (disappointing really, as a working xbox and games were advertised) Me and my sister managed to sort through the games as it was annoying how messy it was lol. We went out for some food in Tenby Town (about 16 minute drive away) and then returned back to the plane shortly after. The WiFi and signal in general was absolutely awful- so the TV in the bedroom was pointless as it wouldn't connect to a network connection. (We couldn't even message family back home) As the night went on, we started to discover more mould around the plane (Which I will attach pictures of) Personally, it's not in the best condition for customers to be sleeping in. The plane needs a massive refurbishment, but after messaging Ashlie at Apple Camping, she's made me aware that the plane will be 'stripped back' and they will have to cancel some of the bookings made. Unfortunately I don't believe this will be anytime soon. If you're interested in booking this plane, be aware that you'll come out with a headache and potentially feeling robbed of £249. I made Apple Camping aware that I would be leaving this review.

We stayed in the Sub at this lovely place for 2 nights last week. We really did feel like we were staying in a sub, so clever! The welcome and hospitality we received was fantastic, honestly could not fault it. All the units are just amazing and need to be seen to be believed. We cannot wait to return to try out some of the other units. The site is spotless, lovely surroundings and easy access into Tenby itself. Lovely friendly staff in a one of a kind amazing site. Dont hesitate to book a stay here, you won't be disappointed, just sad to leave!
