Stopped by this distillery on a Saturday summer afternoon. It’s charming and cozy inside with excellent music playing in the background but the outside views are absolutely stunning! There’s plenty of space to sit inside and outside. I thoroughly enjoyed sipping on the Lavender Fields mocktail while enjoying the nice weather outside. Stayed for the rest of the evening until it closed. I’d recommend planning a trip out here with a group on a nice day.

This place deserves 5 stars ! Peter was wonderful and gave us many beautiful stories about how this place was founded and the cute story behind their Deanna cocktail! My fiancé and I had a wonderful time strolling by the pond, drinks in hand all while taking in the beautiful views.

Peter could not have been nicer if he tried!!! The level of hospitality is unbelievable. This is our third time here and already planning a time to come back. Worth the drive from NYC, even if it’s for one cider and a conversation with Peter. So much passion for everything they do. Spend an hour or a whole day here. You won’t be disappointed!!!

What an amazing place we have been coming here more then 3 times it's one of me and my husband favorite spot. The awesome greeting from the owner when you come in so friendly and very welcoming. Both owners are super nice, the view of lake is beautiful the trail walk they have is so nice the drinks are so good and I recommend trying the lavender drink very good. So for those that are looking for nice place to have nice drink and relax this is the place to come. I highly recommend it

Once in a while you're traveling and stumble into a truly magical place. On our long weekend in Warwick we happened upon Apple Dave Distillery and it was the most relaxing place I've been to in a while. My wife had one of their cocktails made with their own apple jack ( the Deanna). It was fantastic. The grounds are beautiful and the live music was very good. This is a not to miss place to visit when in the area.

Google
The most peaceful, incredible location. We came here with a group and enjoyed delicious cider along the lake. Peter was a wonderful host and gave us history on the space too, which gave it much more meaning. We’ll be back!

My friend and I walked in to explore, we met Peter the owner, he was nice enough to give us the history of his now place, founded by his dad. We enjoyed the story and peaches the sweetest dog. I lived the decor, the airy and bright spacious room.

Yelp
I came with my brother in law on a whim. It was rainy and we figured it might not even be worth it. We were wrong. We met with the owner and he had just helped a couple that went apple picking and they looked very happy. We ordered a beer and a hot totti and I've been obsessed ever since. The place is very comfortable and I even snacked on the popcorn they sell there and I could've stayed there all day!

Yelp
This place STINKS! Do not go drive down the hill for parking because they'll con you into paying $5 for nothing. I came here 5 years ago when it was one entity and it was amazing. We brought back friends after our hike at Bear Mountain and was directed by young boys to go down the driveway for more parking. It is not clear that there are two different Apple Dave's (Distillery and Winery) and when we asked about it at the drink stand (after the four of us paid $5 each to get in) the woman who said she was decedent Dave's daughter in law Go to the originally winery when you first drive in.

Yelp
Loved Apple Dave's from the moment we walked in. Such a homey vibe with indoor outdoor seating and Miss Peaches the owners beagle greeted us and was as sweet as could be. I also loved the owner said dogs are always welcome and kids are allowed on the premises LOL. We sat inside and moved to the deck out back as the rain had stopped. We ordered a Deanna cocktail and the maple syrup really is a great mixer with with apple jack brandy. I can't wait to come back here and enjoy the area more. You can even walk down by the lake and sit down there too!

Yelp
I didn't go there but my sister brought back the pumpkin "butter". I wouldn't call it butter since it doesn't contain any butter, more like a pumpkin jelly/jam? Whatever it is, it's good. I do wish it was less sweet, but it's not diabetes sweet. It's very light.

Yelp
Wonderful, cozy farm perfect to spend an afternoon. Went here for a work event and it was magnificent. Great customer service! Beautiful lake views, Apple picking and live music

Yelp
Reviewing this for Sep 22. For food they had a truck with bbq food and I tried there smoking grate food I believe i got the Mac attack food was good and decently priced. The winery we tried red wine and Cider flight it was not my favorite as I'm more into dry wines these were very sweet. The cider were not as crisp but they were decent. The distillery was definitely great they had a good amount of cocktails and I would definitely recommend the drinks. The apple picking I found that the apples were very small and not much options as there were no green apples. The place was rather large with many foods to try from.

Yelp
Love the vibe here. Beautiful views and great drinks ! A must in Warwick ! Great during the season before apple picking begins !

Yelp
Let's start with the positive. I had come here as a child and began bringing my oldest when she turned 1. If you go, make sure it is a weekday. The winery has some very nice mead. The mixed drinks are extremely expensive. Food is not bad. They've added a BBQ food truck which was decent, if pricey. It's very scenic, with great views of fall foliage. Now for the (current) downsides. Whatever fallout the owners have had has caused chaos at this place. It took 40 minutes to get from the road to the parking log. Where are employees guiding cars? Warwick Valley has them. Wilklow has them. Masker. I could go on. No less than 3 cars were stuck in the mud. Parking is not well defined (again, no one directing traffic) so there were narrow aisles that were difficult to navigate. We quickly ate something, made a purchase at the winery, and began walking with a crowd down the hill. This is where a man yelled at everyone to go back; no walking, only driving - "this is a separate business." To which one patron replied, I've been circling for hours looking for parking, we are walking. The man then said "then you are not welcome here!". That's some way to speak to your customers. The orchard was fine. Extremely muddy from the heavy rain but oddly there were no tractors running to take people out to the apple trees. The bags for apples cost an exorbitant $25 or $40, on top of the $5/person entry fee. Lastly, they ran out of donuts early. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and may be our last.

Yelp
I too recently visited Apple Dave's with a group of family and friends and aside from the very empty parking lot on a beautiful Sat afternoon, noticed the numerous country flags flying all around the establishment. What was found to be odd was that with all the country's that were displayed (resembling the UN in NYC), the USA flag was absent, and according to the owner, that was on purpose, because he's not happy with America right now. Now, imo, you're entitled to have whatever political, cultural, and socio-economic viewpoint you wish personally, but when you run a place of business, I think THAT should not be worn on your sleeve, esp. when people are coming to spend hard-earned American money in your place of business. American money that would be gladly accepted. Needless to say, we did not purchase anything and will not be returning which is a shame, because it's a nice setting. Oh, and this is off-season. In season, you have to pay for a parking space in the lot that abuts this part of the property. Seems very capitalistic for someone who is not fond of his own country.

Yelp
DO NOT GO HERE. We drove an hour to get here, paid the ridiculous $5 per person to get in. Paid $1 for just a tiny bag (afterwards it would cost $18 for the apples, unless you get a slightly larger bag for $2 and then pay $25 for the apples), only to walk around for half an hour all over their orchard and find absolutely NO APPLES! Ridiculous. The only apples we saw would be tiny tiny ones once in a while or apples on the ground. Or rotten apples. Look at my pictures, no apples. We were so disappointed and upset, why would you not tell people you have no apples left?! Why make me drive all the way there and pay just to walk around for nothing? So I walked back up to the stand and told them they have no apples and I want my money back for the bag (it was purely out of principle at this point). The girl at the stand got so nasty and loud, it was shocking. She barked at me asking if we went everywhere because she supposedly just went before and got two bags of apples. Umm as we stood there, we kept seeing people walk out empty handed. I was the only one that actually complained at this point. So this girl is basically yelling at me so she got called a name and I walked away and left the crappy tiny plastic bag. As I was walking away, she actually screamed at the top of her lungs at me that she was going to give me my $1 back but now I can just leave. Literally as I am leaving anyway. She made such an insane scene, everyone was staring and there were kids there. Unbelievable. This is not how you treat customers. Should've just apologized and given me my dollar back instead of lying about everything. And it didn't end there. We were going to leave completely but we had driven all that way and they did have such a nice view of fall foliage and a lake, plus after being ridiculously yelled at, I needed a drink. So we walked to their distillery and I really wanted apple cider. Come to find out they are out of apple cider. Well not surprising since they have no apples to make it from. They had like 3 or 4 beers to choose from, all of which sounded disgusting. We chose two. It cost $20 for two SMALL pours in plastic cups. The beer was nasty and WARM. So now that's over $20 plus tip, $10 just to get in, and $1 for a bag for apples that were nowhere to be found. We drank our beer, at least enjoyed the view for a bit and as we were leaving, we heard so many complain about the same things, someone even called it a complete disaster. And people were complaining about being yelled at for parking at the winery and walking over. Oh and to make matters worse, they don't let you use the bathroom inside the distillery. They make you use their disgusting porta potties. There were only 5 of them, filthy and no toilet paper with very long lines, making everyone very frustrated. How dare you have a distillery where people are drinking and not let people use a normal bathroom? And if you're going to force people to use porta potties, you could at least have more of them and keep them stocked with toilet paper. Wow. Just wow. Trust mine and other people's reviews and just stay far far away from this horrible place, because you're basically paying to get yelled at and to have your day off ruined completely. Terrible people. I'll be sure to spread the word to everyone. Don't think you'll be staying in business much longer judging by all the negative reviews and how you're treating people. Absolutely appalling. Apple Dave's? More like No Apple Dave's.

Yelp
Lovely property with a walking trail and they allow dogs, which is a huge bonus. Grabbed some cider donuts and a glass of cider and enjoyed the live music and views.

Yelp
Following a short visit to the winery that shares the same property, stopped into Apple Dave's Distillery. Enjoyed the company of the owner Pete while trying some Apple Cider and sampling some local beers. Quality Apple Dave's Distillery was not on our original itinerary, but upon seeing the charming red barn just down the hill from Applewood Winery, we decided to take a look. The cold wind was whipping outside, so stepping inside the warm refuge that smelled of apple cider was incredible. We made our way past where apple cider donuts often rest, and into the bar. Pete let us know he had four local beers on tap from Pine Island Brewing and Glenmere Brewing, as well as hot Apple Cider. I sampled the four different beers on tap and then went with a robust stout, while my girlfriend opted for the Apple Cider with applejack. The options may have been limited, but each one was tasty and provided enough variety to please a crowd. The only true disappointment was we didn't get to try any of the famous donuts. Quantity Excellent pours and Pete is more than happy to top you off. Value Fair prices for both beer and specialty drinks. It is a small operation, so I was surprised at how reasonable everything was. Ambiance Apple Dave's Distillery sits on the larger Applewood Orchards in New York's Hudson Valley. Just feet away from the winery on the property, Apple Dave's Distillery focuses on beer and spirits. When you enter the building you are first met with a small shop with merchandise and snacks. The recently renovated space then opens up into a good sized sitting area with a small bar. A porch out back sits above a chicken coop and overlooks the beautiful scenery. Near the bar inside is a television that shows pictures of the farm throughout the different seasons, providing motivation to return at other times of the year. There was also Christmas decorations out, but we were told during other seasons the space is opened up so live music can be played. Crowd We were the only guests on Saturday afternoon, but that was just fine. Originally a bar created for overflow during the busier seasons, it is now a comfortable and cozy lounge to enjoy a drink throughout the year. It is clear they have put a lot of work into the space and it can host a small crowd looking to just relax with a drink. Service The highlight of Apple Dave's Distillery was absolutely Pete, the friendly owner and, on this day, bartender. He was not expecting any guests this close to closing time on a cold Saturday in winter, but nevertheless he poured us a bunch of samples and kept us entertained with stories about the farm and the bar. Had we not been on a schedule, I expect Pete would have kept us well past closing and we would not have even noticed. Parking We parked closer to the winery up the hill and walked down to Apple Dave's Distillery. However, there is also a small parking lot near this building if you continue down the dirt road at the fork. Extra Apple Dave's Distillery is an absolute hidden gem of a bar. Pete's big personality and a small, but delicious selection of drinks make it a worthy pit stop. Just make sure not to miss the incredible view from the porch.

Yelp
Can't give zero stars. Terrible experience, terrible feelings, terrible vibes. We were at the winery (within walking distance), decided to take advantage of the apple picking next door. Was informed we needed to park our car there in order to participate in apple picking. We offered to pay admission, as driving the car in our current condition would be irresponsible driving. But it was denied. Upon further research we discovered Apple Dave's has a feud with the business next door. Be warned if you want to enjoy the Winery and Apple Picking you'll have to move your car. The winery does not mind if you park in Dave's Parking and walk to them... but Dave has a security guard to stop you from walking to his property. The gentleman was sweet, not rude at all. But the experience has turned me off from the business. We came to the area to participate in both experiences and Dave's feud makes Apple Wood Winery next door, in conjunction with Naked Flock Hard Cider. The only reason you come to Warwick.

Yelp
We just loved Dave's Apple Distillery! The vibe was very chill, and the drinks were fabulous. We especially enjoyed the Hot Toddy with Black Dirt bourbon on a crisp fall afternoon. We actually enjoyed it so much we didn't leave that beautiful deck and go apple picking as intended. Even without getting to the planned activity, we had the best time!

Yelp
The apple cider hot toddy (with bourbon) was the absolute best thing in this changing weather! The distillery is a cozy spot in the back of the store with a small patio area with amazing views.

Yelp
Love this place! Feels like sitting on your own deck on a farm, with great cocktails! Owner is hands on and will sit and chat with you if hes not tending bar himself

Yelp
I went to the store to ask the woman behind the counter a question and she snapped at me in front of everyone saying she was with a customer. Meanwhile, the customer was not talking to her, she was simply waiting for all her goods to be rung up. Did not deserve to be spoken to this way simply for asking a question.

Michele F.

Yelp
Hot Toddy this place is good!!!! Donuts to wine to beer to ambiance was so cool! We had the pleasure of meeting Pete, Dave's son too! He's a kind lovely soul! Go and just relax in their beautiful serenity...Cheers..!

Yelp
Place was terrible, very crowded zero social distancing and the women who worked at the bar tap in the front was awful. Terrible customer service told me to leave with a baby stroller. I would never go back. Shocked they stayed open this long with horrible service.

Vince B.

Yelp
Neat looking place with great restive decor and an awesome view of the country side. Beer and spirits not really a tasting room and not part of the Applewood. The staff was fun and and down to earth. Had a couple beers and moved on to our next place. I wouldn't recommend this place as a destination but if your pairing with the Applewood winery it's a must see.
